Should I report this?

So a few days ago, I made a trade with a user, and one of the conditions of the trade was I that I was able to keep the name of my creature.

So what happened was, I changed the name of the creature, and then posted on the Users wall, that the name had been changed, and I was ready to trade. I then offered on the lot for the creature I was supposed to trade for. They accepted and all was good and dandy until I tried to change the name of my new creature, to the name I had previously changed about a few seconds before. But I couldn't change it, because A DIFFERENT USER had deliberately taken the name. If I hadn't have posted on the users (the one I was trading with) wall, that it had been changed, the scumbag user wouldn't have been able to steal it, cause they wouldn't have known I had changed it.

Attempts have been made by my friends and I to even PAY the user for the name with CC!!! but she just ignores our comments, and is Insanely rude about the whole thing.

So I'm wondering if I can report this, since it would be interrupting a trade. And just overall a very sneaky and extremely rude thing to do to another user. Personally, I don't think something like this should be allowed to take place on EC. I'm devastated since it was my favorite name.

@darthvader I don't think you could report something like this... Sorry ☹️

@pirateseaz Well, I should be able to. It's not fair. C'mon mods. I'm sure other people have lost names because of this. And it's terrible.

You could report her for being rude, but not for the name, because in the Trade Safety Rules it states that all trades are final. ☹️

@darthvader

I agree, u should be able to report it but this is something they cant undo, i dont think. Not sure, but this is something i dont think u should report. Sadly.

@cotton and @nroosangel I realize trades are final. This has nothing to do with the trade itself though. The trade was fine.

I am just sad that my name was stolen out from under me, when I was trying to do something nice for someone else.

As unfortunate an event this is, I'm afraid it would do no good to report it, because when you rename a creature, it even gives you a message to remind you that anyone can take its previous name...

@darthvader This has happened with me before.

I don't think it's reportable. a) the mods can't undo it and b) the person who took your name probably knew about it from the fact that you said "I'm changing it to ___". In which case it's your fault.

(If b didn't happen then I apologise for trying to put the blame on you; it's not entirely your fault and this is very unfortunate ☹️ )

I'm sorry... that stinks. ☹️ I'm pretty sure you can't report it though. What was the name?

Eh, *sigh*

Well, if Egg Cave is becoming full over users like the one in my first post, I'm gonna quit this awful place.

@darthvader
What was the name?

And I know what some users do that, but sometimes they don't know that it was yours, and they think you're trying to take it.
Just saying, but I'm just thinking from this person's view point.

If you feel wronged by another user or something on the site, the best course of action is to report the problem first before making a forum topic about whether you should or not. You will not get in trouble for it, y'know, unless it is some incredibly silly thing. Better to be safe by submitting a report than to sit idle and have users talking about it. Moderators cannot literally swap a creature's name for you, but we can at least attempt to resolve the problem some other way.

Just shoot us a ticket about the issue and it can be looked into.

@newlife I can't tell you, it would be considered harassment of the user.

and I doubt it....really....i mean, the user doesn't speak English, and the only reason she would take the name is to spite me.
