Nobody here knows about the book? My teacher read the beginning of it to our class in 3rd grade. It was sad.

Yeah. I know about that story. It's based off a real story for those who didn't know. Also, it's not the first time this happens. Countless dogs have died waiting for their owners before Hachiko, but the reason HE is famous is because he waited the longest, I believe, nine years. Sad, but it shows us the qualities of a dog. Faithful, trustful, and above all, loyal.

@opal_dreams Nope, I'm pretty sure it's a Shiba Inu. 😋
Shiba Inus are known for their loyalty. 😊

@Spirithawk
The story seems sad, but the full story ends a little bit happily, even if it doesn't in the movie.
Hachiko waited forever for that man to come, and as he waited, people fed him, petted him, loved him, helped him on his journey. Then, when Hachiko died, they buried him beside his owner, so he did get to find him again. ❤ī¸ But I won't watch the movie, I'm a total animal lover and watching stuff like this just doesn't work well with me.

Here's another reason why people may seem heartless (but aren't) if they giggle when the human dies: The human, as we all are, has different feelings, guilt, emotions, than the dog does. The human in the movie is an actor, and notice how we all know Hachiko's name, but nobody is mentioning the human's name who died? It's because as kind as the human may have been, Hachiko is the one we see suffer through everything just on the cause of loyalty, and then he passes away. That tugs at our heartstrings, makes us burst into tears, because we knew how loyal and kind and sweet he was. We didn't know much about the human, so it doesn't affect us as much.

@spirithawk

That is so sad ;-;

I couldn't even watch the video. I know it would make me cry even more. I'm already in tears since my bunny, Thumper, died yesterday of cancer. She was such a gentle, kind-hearted creature. She died young, too (she was four years old). The saddest part is that I used to have four bunnies, and they only got along in pairs. The first two lived together outside in my backyard, and Thumper and her friend lived together inside. One of the bunnies that lived outside died in June at age six, and one from inside died yesterday, and now I have two really heartbroken bunnies that keep looking for their friend. It's horrible to watch them search and wait for their buddy to come back. Every time I look at them, I think of the times when they would sit for hours just squished together, and the times they would lick each other behind the ears.

I can relate to Hachiko, and I'm sure my bunnies can, too; it really hurts to lose someone you loved that much. Nothing can express how much I loved my bunnies, and I'm sure that no words could describe Hachiko's feelings for his owner either. And when that bond is severed... it's the hardest thing for anyone, animal or person, to have to go through. Is that story of Hachiko true? Life is so strange, being put on this earth with only one possible result -- death. It's strange to wonder whether or not I'll ever meet my bunnies in an afterlife or in a new life.

At least I'm comforted by the fact that they all lived happy lives. None of them ever lived in a cage. I'll never regret that decision when I bought Thumper from the store. She was all alone in a cage away from the other bunnies because she was too big. Nobody wanted her, and while the other bunnies were $60, she was only $10. She was almost sent to an animal shelter because nobody would buy her over all of the baby bunnies. At least she didn't have to live in a shelter and in a small cage for the rest of her life. I'm glad to say that she didn't have to suffer.

Ahh, but enough of me and my stories. If I keep this up, I'll wind up talking about the other three bunnies, and that would turn into a novel of sad stories, given the current situation. It is what it is, and I know I just have to let go, as hard as it is. The best I can do is remember them for all the good times and keep their friends comfortable.

Sorry about the double post. The 1500 character limit was preventing me from making everything into one post, so I used my storage account as a breaker.

Aha, not until I can stop the waterfall running from my eyes just from reading the story. I, too, am an animal lover, and it pains me to hear stories like Hachiko's. I'll probably watch it sometime later, though 😊 Sorry about my wall of text up there, I just needed to let a little bit of that out.

Thanks ^^ I love to tell stories, and that oftentimes results in people having to cut me off because I sometimes just talk too much 😋 (Some people call me "Motormouth" because of this).

Technically, humans are animals. 😋

If you'd like me to tell some other stories, I'd be more than happy to do so some other time 😋 At this point, though, I shall be heading off for the night, as I am dead tired, and I do have class tomorrow in the morning. Have a wonderful evening ^^
