"The filly forgot me." I say mock dissapointmeant in my voice. "Here's something you won't forget!" I yell out shoving her out hte window nad pinngin her to the gound outside hte castle. I put a shield around us so others wouldnt get in. "Now you are just annoying." I say pushing one of m wings to her flank slicing off her fur.

Shadow ignored the pain in her flank and glared fearlessly at the mare. "Kill me if you want, but I have more knowledge than you will ever hope to know. Your chance of happiness will die with me." She snarled.

Shadow nodded. "Painting Scars, go. Please... I don't want anypony getting hurt." The brave filly turned back to the large, scary mare. "Do what you will; but I don't go down without a fight. If I'm to die, please make it quick..."

Shadow laughed. "If I survive?" She asked, "I seriously doubt that I'll survive, but if I do, I will most certainly find you." Shadow turned back to the other mare again "Now." She said quietly, "Back to business."

I landed quietly in my room. I lay on my bed, and try to think of something to help save Shadow.

"Dragon Born may be gone but I will never stop this hatred!" I yell out as I lash my wings at hte filly's body. She is left mangled her wings torn to noting but lfesh hte feathers gone. Her fur was missing and I had managed to slice her cheeks and lags alon leaving ehr helpless. "Hav fun laying here wainting to die." I sneer at her and fly away.

Shadow cried out in agony. "What did I ever do~!?" She called, sobbing as the mare left her little frame mangled and torn. Her little feathers were gone, and the pain was awful.

"Somepony help me!" She sobbed.

At the mare's words, Shadow suddenly broke. It was true, so true. She was going to die, and she would never see Tusami, ever. Again.

"NOOOOO~!" She shrieked through her sobs, "NO! Tusami will come back for me!" Shadow's voice cracked. She continued to cry.

Alone.

Nearly dead.

The pain, oh, how excruciating it was.

Shadow wailed.

I laugh at the filly pittiful crys. "Tusami never cared for anypony!" I yell out turning and leaving as fast as possible.

I hovered htere. What Sharp Wing said was true I never cared for anypony ever.

"She cares for everypony!" Shadow shrieked back, gasping in pain. "She's the bravest mare I know, and she will save Equestria! Because she already has! And she will save me you stupid mare!" Shadow continued to cry in pain and fear, but suddenly a thought stabbed through her.

Tusami wasn't coming. No, she would've heard Shadow's cries by now.

And if Shadow was to die, shouldn't she just accept it already?

Shadow's hope faded to a small little nub in her heart, and she felt her heartbeat slowing. Tears streamed down her cheeks, but Shadow had already stopped making sound. It was hopeless.

It was over.

I turn from Shadow helpless. I fly to my castle. I was about just as useful as Night Mare Moon my mother. I let out a wail and collapse in the inner hall.

"Tusami." She called, as her breathing became shallow. "Tusami, please!"

"Why?" She called back, "Why not, Tusmai? You can save me, I know you can..."

I hop down from the castle, and land next to Shadow. "Shadow!" I scream, and lay down.

Shadow cried out to Painting Scars. "I don't want to die..." She whispered, before collapsing into tears again, but this time, she was smiling. Somepony came... Somepony cared.

I looked at her, and started to use my magic to heal her. Her fur came back, along with her feathers, and the cuts began to heal. "It'll be okay..." I smile through tears.

Shadow stood on shaky legs, and wondered about Tusami. Why didn't she come? What happened? Wasn't Tusami s'posed to be her friend? Shouldn't Shadow be able to count on Tusami?

"Thanks..." Shadow mumbled quietly, the questions filling her head, confusing her and causing more pain. She could count on Painting Scars, right? But what if she couldn't? What would Shadow do?

Shadow absent-mindedly sat on the floor, her brow furrowed, and she was deep in thought. 'What really happened? Why didn't Tusami come? Did she not hear Shadow's cries? Or...' Shadow cringed, 'Did she just watch?'
