Lina heard someone cheer but wasn't paying any attention to Jennifer now, she was paying attention to the white knight that was coming up behind Jennifer.
"Jennifer! Look out! BEHIND YOU!" Lina blurted out, panic starting to overcome her.

Jennifer turned her attention back on the knight that was making it's way toward her. It jumped and the moment came. It drew it's sword, jabbed Jennifer (hard), sent her flying and trampled her horse. She flew maybe... 20 feet to a place on the side of the board where all the broken pieces went. She heard someone scream before she hit her head and everything went black... and her faithful horse landed on her... (I know O_O yeah)

Lina screamed as Jennifer flew to the edge of the board, she was going to run over and help her when Ron yelled,
"Don't! If you move the wrong way you'll break a rule and then we lose!"
Lina watched Jennifer lay there, most likely knocked out from the looks of it.

And so the game continued, more of their pieces were destoryed and now some of the white pieces as well.
"We're nearly there,"
Lina heard Ron mutter.
"Let me think- let me think..."
Lina saw the white queen turn her blank face toward Ron.
"Yes...
"it's the only way... I've got to be taken."
"NO!"
Harry, Hermione and Lina shouted at once.
"That's chess!" snapped Ron. "You've got to make some sacrifices! I take one step forward and she'll take me; that leaves you free to checkmate the king, Harry!"
"But-"
"Do you want to stop Snape or not?"
"Ron-"
"Look, If you don't hurry up, he'll already have the stone!"
There was no alternative.

Lina watched Ron.
"Ready?" Ron called, his face pale but determind. "Here I go- now don't hang around once you've won."
He stepped forward, and the white queen pounced. She struck Ron across the head with her stone arm, Ron crashed to the floor, Hermione screamed yet stayed on her square.

The white queen dragged Ron to one side of the board; He looked as if he'd been knocked out as well.
Lina saw Harry shaking, he moved three spaces to the left.
the white king took off his crown and threw it at Harry's feet.
They had won. The chessman parted and bowed, leaving the floor ahead clear.
(Next is the troll, which is knocked out.)

Harry, Lina, Hermione, Rowan and a knocked out Jennifer walked into the other chamber, they saw a table with seven different shaped bottles in a line.
"Snape's," said Harry. "What do we have to do?"
They stepped over the threshold, and immediately a fire sprang up behind them in the doorway. It wasn't a ordinary fire either; it was purple.
At the same instant, black flames shot up in the doorway leading onward. They were trapped.
"What's that?" Hermione said, pointing at what looked like tiny pieces of paper that no doubt got ripped up.
"Well, what do we do now? We're trapped for life!" said Lina.

Lina jumped when Jennifer suddenly started talking, yet she was still knocked out.

After Jennifer stopped talking Hermione heaved a big sigh, yet it sounded like a sigh of relief; Lina looked over at her and saw she was smiling.
"Brilliant," said Hermione.
"This isn't magic- It's logic, a puzzle. A lot of great wizards don't have a ounce of logic, they'd be stuck here forever."
"But so will we, won't we?" said Harry.
"Of course not," Hermione answered. "Everything we need Jennifer just said. Seven bottles: three are poison; two are wine; one will get us safely through the black fire, and one will get us back through the purple."

"But how do we know which to drink?"
"Give me a minute."
Hermione looked like she was thinking hard. Then she walked up and down the line of bottles, muttering to herself and pointing at them.

At last, she clapped her hands.
"Got it," she said. "The smallest bottle will get us through the black fire- toward the Stone."
Harry looked at the small bottle.
"There's only enough for two of us." he said.
They looked at each other.
"Which one will get you back through the purple flames?"
Hermione pointed at a rounded bottle at the right end of the line.
"You drink that, Hermione," said Harry. "Listen, get back and get Ron. Grab brooms from the flying-key room, they'll get you out of the trapdoor and past Fluffy- go straight to the owlery and send Hedwig to Dumbledore, we need him. Me and Lina might be able to hold Snape off for a while, but we're no match for him, really."
"But, what if You-Know-Who is with him?"
"Well- I was lucky once, wasn't I?" said Harry, pointing at his scar.

Lina saw Hermione's lip tremble, and she suddenly dashed at Harry and threw her arms around him, yet leaving Lina.
"Hermione!" Harry yelped.
"Harry- you're a great wizard, you know."
"I'm not as good as you," said Harry, looking very embarrassed, as she let go of him.
"Me!" said Hermione. "Books and cleverness! There are more important things, friendship and bravery and- oh Harry, be careful!"
"You drink first," said Harry. "You are sure which is which, aren't you?"
"Positive," said Hermione. She took a long drink from the round bottle at the end, and shuddered.
"It's not poison?" said Harry anxiously.
"No- but it's like ice."
"Quick, go, before it wears off."
"Good luck, take care-"
"GO!"
Hermione turned and walked straight through the purple fire.

Harry took a deep breath, Lina sighed.
Harry picked up the smallest bottle, he drank some of it then gave it to Lina.
She drank the rest of the bottle and indeed, it felt like ice was flooding through her boy.

"Quick- let's go before it wears off." Harry said to Lina.
They hurried over to the black fire, Lina glanced at Harry one last time and then they walked through together.

Lina could see the fire licking her body, yet felt no pain, she didn't even feel it at all. For a moment it was just the black fire- then they finally made it to the other side.
Lina glanced over at the figure that was standing in the middle of the chamber.
She gasped, it wasn't Snape. But Professor Quirrell.

"You!" gasped Harry.
Quirrel smiled. His face wasn't twitching like normal.
"Me," he said calmly. "I wondered whether I'd be meeting you here, Potter.
"Ah, and isn't it Lina, the Animagus. Are you going to go transform into your little puppy and try to get me?" Quirrell chuckled.
Lina grinted her teeth.
"But I thought- Snape-"
"Severus?" Quirrell laughed, and it wasn't his usual quivering treble, either, but cold and sharp. "Yes, Severus does seem like the type, doesn't he? So useful to have him swooping around like an over-grown bat. Next to him, who would suspect p-p-poor st-stuttering P-Professor Quirrell?"

Lina growled and transformed.
She pounced at Quirrell, but before she could bite him, he took out his wand and yelled,
"Curcio!"
Lina felt a horrible pain, she fell to the floor and started horribly twitching, Lina cried out in pain.

"Stop it!"
Lina heard Harry yell at Quirrell.
"Ah you want me to stop it, hm?"
"YES!"
Lina whimpered louder as the pain grew even more painful.
"Fine,"
Quirrell threw Lina at the wall, she hit it harshly and fell, again, to the ground.
She whimpered in a quieter tone, yet still had pain burning through her.
Lina saw Harry run over to her and kneel down.
"H-Harry.. just g-g-o and.. e-end this..." Lina said weakly, coughing a bit of blood on the floor.
Her vision started to get blurry, yet she saw Harry nod and walk back over to Quirrell.

Lina's vision blacked out and her head fell to the ground.

Lina's eyes snapped open, her eyes were still blurred a bit from the bright lights.

Her eyes finally adjusted to the light and she noticed she was in the Hospital Wing.
She looked around and noticed Ron, Jennifer and Harry also laying in the beds.
She saw Madam Pomfrey walk over to her.
Lina saw her mouth opening and closing, yet didn't hear anything.

Lina pointed at her ears and raised an eye brow.

Jennifer woke up to see... Madam Poofey's face?
"Yes," said Madam Poofey,"it's good to see you awake. My dear, stoned. Very brave but foolish. Broken ribs and skull. I need to talk to Flitwick about those charms he does these days." She continued to talk in her... nurse language. Jennifer now had regained her senses. She felt really weak and didn't like that thought. Next to her, Lina started to stir.

Lina looked over at Jennifer, who seemed to be awake.
She shook her head a bit, trying to regain her hearing which seemed didn't want to come.

Lina finally regained her hearing.
"So, you feel any better?" Lina asked weakly, rubbing her head which was throbbing from a horrible head ache.
