I'm super confused on two homework questions. Here they are:

When a trait has more than two alleles, how is that trait inherited?

and

What phenotype is produced by each of the following genotypes?

AA ______ AO ______ OO ______

BB ______ BO ______ AB ______

Help?

Are you learning about Particale Theory? 😸

Q: When a trait has more than two alleles, how is that trait inherited?

A: When one parent has a recessive trait.

I think. XD

No, I'm learning about genes and stuff. Thanks! 😃

@hedwig68

The phenotype of genes is determined by the domonite gene of the blood line. A and B are the dominate blood types so with the example of AO the A trait or blood is more reconizable while the O is unnoticed. Since A and B are dominate then the answer would be AB as both types will show.

If you are a little confused then just ask more questions and I will try to answer them. I loved Biology and Genitics when I took it last year and remember it all.

That happened to me in Chemistry. Biology and Phyisics I got fine but that science teacher was another matter. I went on the internet and watched videos along with going to another teacher for help. After that I got it. Sometimes you just need someone else to explain it to you.

@panda-chan

I agree and I also am not very good at listening to teachers while they are teaching. I get distracted easily and forget stuff, Though when I read something that has been written down I memorize it and never forget it.

Same here. Once I listen or read something and understand it I can remember it. Reading is better for me because I can recall the details others sometimes cant.

@panda-chan

Same here, when a teacher is talking and not writing anything down I lose focus and don't hear a word that they say.

Most of my teachers are funny so It keeps my attention to what they are saying. But sometimes it gets boring like watching the president or vp debate. I usually write down the snipets my mind picks up and that I think sounds important.

All my teachers ramble on and on, its all really boring. All we do in most of my classes is take notes so its really hard to stay focused. I'm also not good at picking out important details. XD

It's a skill I have aquired over my years in high school. I usually can skim the boring parts of a book and just remember the important parts. I think at some point it just transfered to my listening plus I'm a pro at making myself look like I'm paying attention when I'm really just thinking about what i'm doing next or an anime episode that pops into my mind. My thoughts are just at random.

Say there's a trait with 10 alleles. The alleles will be represented by letters A-J. And I know there's dominant CAPITAL and recessive lowercase, but I'm just sticking with capital letters 😋

Mom's Grandma: AB
Mom's Grandpa: CD
Dad's Grandma: EF
Dad's Grandpa: GH
Mom: AD
Dad: FH
Brother: AF
Sister: AH
You: DH
Adopted Sister (whatever 😋): JB

I'm always afraid that I won't take good notes so I just write everything down. I can't skim a book either, I have to read every last word (usuallly because the book is so good). I also can look like I''m paying aatention, though I'm usually thinking about a book I'm reading, something I'm drawing, or something like that.

I only skim on tests and school books I required to read that just dont interest me like Lord of the Flies or Great Expectations. But since I'm an avid reader I like to curl up and get some reading done to find out what happens.

@panda-chan Same here, that's what I do on my pass time. I really only read fantasys though, all non-fiction bores me though I do like a few realistic fictions.
