DCT(Daily Chat Thread)

In the Off-Topic forum,we should have a DCT.A DCT is a thread that is made every day with a new topic,and anyone can post on it.Many forums have one,but we dont.It would be an easy way to make new friends,and just have fun on EC.com.

I like talking in DCT's in other forums, and I agree it would be pretty cool. 😊 However, I'm not sure Egg Cave needs a new chat thread each day; a single place to talk like the shoutbox in Chit-Chat seems to be enough. Also, we do have a blog as well, though it's not very active.

@kitty890 That is precisely what the Chit-Chat forum is for on this site, so we technically do have something like that already. Users can make a topic on whatever they please (within reason of the rules) and be able to discuss it there. We don't need a dedicated topic to be posted daily.

The Shoutbox is good for random discussion without clogging up the forums with a billion random chat threads.

What im saying is everyday a new DCT is opened with a different topic than the day before.Lets say Monday was Chickins and Tuesday was Horses,and Wensday was Farms.

Well,on many other forums,they make a new one everyday,to have a topic based on that day.Also,little fights happen,and they need to clear it up somehow,and still have a DCT.

There is really no point to a "DCT". You can already do that on your own terms about a subject. A new thread every single day on a random subject is what I see as spam and could easily go into the Shoutbox. There, you can have a discussion on whatever you please for the day.

I just see no practical use for this idea in the slightest for it to be considered not spam.

@Meteoroid I think @Kitty890 means that there would be one topic, created by Ian (lol it feels weird typing that after talking about my friend), that changes subject every day. Like there would be something that says, "Daily Chat Thread--Today's Topic: Chickens." And every day that would change, but it would be one thread. And it wouldn't be recorded in Livepulse, so nobody's bugged by a topic changing. Am I right, Kitty?

@whitefire I really don't think Ian has much time to do that.
Aside from the suggestion of changing the title every day, it's basically the Shoutbox.

@Meteoroid I didn't mean it HAD to be Ian; it could be one of the other Mods, too. I honestly don't care either way, but since I started an argument I'm gonna finish it. I think it would be an interesting thing to do, I think maybe it could be experimented with for a week and if nobody pays attention it could be deleted.

@whitefire Since when is giving viewpoints on a suggestion "an argument"? I respect your opinion, but I am just explaining how this doesn't really seem beneficial when you can practically do it already. It's just not that there is an "official" thread on it.

Huh, I did. Well. Tiredness kills the brain, especially if you took the CRAP (Common Core Assessment Program--or something like that) test. Yeah, I see your point on THIS topic, too... I just think it would be fun. I don't know.

Well,if we have one DCT,we would need to change the topic every day,but also delete the posts made the day before,so it doesnt become spammed.It could take a while,so a new DCT everyday would help.@kitty890
