The girls stood up after they had finished their breakfast and walked back to Emily's room. Emily grabed a rough piece of wood from the cabinet and nailed it to the hole in her closet. "There. It's not perfect but it's good enough." She said. The girls laughed.

Bavelina opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She decided to just walk away, of which she hated to do when Aspitis was talking to her.
She walked back into the kitchen to continue with her duty of being steward, but stopped when she saw Mason looking down at the bowl in his hands and sighing.
"What's bothering you, Mason?" asked Bavelina, growing a bit worried for the cook.

Flustered beyond recognition, Mason paused on the doorway, shuffling around disctractingly. He was aware what slim chances he had to avoid the matter and lie - the girls on the ship seemed to read minds or something like that, capable of knowing what went on in his head. There was no escaping the question, but he could at least delay it a bit...

Busying fingers in the hem of his shirt, Mason let out a quiet sigh. Warily, he returned back to the counter, heavily plopping down on one of the chairs there, resting his pale hands on the warm surface of the table.

"Are you sure you want to busy yourself with me, madmoiselle? It's a silly matter, truly." he asked, looking up to meet crystalline blue eyes with his own troubled cerulean ones.

For a while, he seemed to hesitate about uttering a word. Yet finally, he spoke.
"I'm not.. how should I say this... strong. Or... smart, or a good sailor for that matter. I can't wield a sword either." he explained curtly, making sure to speak as clearly as possible. "I'm not specially gifted, magically gifted. I'm... the overly thin cook. I can't even cook properly, as you can already see." he chuckled heartily. There wasn't a reason to laugh, but in his eyes, it was just so funny... How little it took to bring the ever so cheerful sunny cook down. "And I.. I can't even speak with the woman I love. What am I of use for this ship? Or anyone for that matter."

Sky grabbed a broom. She handed a mop and bucket to Emily and a dust pan to Autumn. Sky started sweeping stuff into Autumn's dust pan.

Autumn satt there with the dust pan.

Emily took the mop and bucket out to the deck and srated mopping.

Bavelina's eyes flickered over to someone stomping through the door and growling in a low tone.
"Excuse me? I'm sorry, but Mason has already ridded of the food and is having a converstation with me, so please come back later." said Bavelina a bit politely but in her mind she was saying, "Stupid jerk, go make your own food and stuff it into your mouth so you can just shut up."

Bavelina held in her laughs at the thought but her face didn't bear any emotions, and she stood over the girl intimidatingly, for she knew she was a higher rank than Meilin was.

Immediatelly jolting out of his seat, Mason rushed to put both hands up, shaking them. He flashed an awkward smile at Bavelina. Saved by Meilin... At least he hadn't had the chance to hear the steward's answer to his story.

He jumped up to fix another set of plates for the hungry Chief. "Coming right up Madmoiselle!" he called out from behind the counter, plucking a few freshly skinned fish from the cabinet and hauling them into the pan and in the fireplace where they were left to cook.

Bavelina's mouth dropped open at Mason's reaction to her standing up for him and got utterly annoyed by this.
A growl rang in the back of her throat and she walked away, her toes digging into her boots angrily and her hands turned to fists.

"Why is it, whenever I try to do something for someone on this stupid wooden boat, they just give in to the enemy, and act as if I didn't just stand up for them!?" growled Bavelina quietly so nobody could hear her, Aspitis already heard her singing.
