@whispersUm.... You DO realize that y is sometimes a vowel, right? 😋
whispers • 2 November 2012 at 9:34 PM
@cqpkyttyI know, I'm not dumb. But my teachers always say "it's one of the few words without a vowel". I take what they say and repeat, I really trust them x3
daikirai • 2 November 2012 at 9:40 PM
@whispers Y is considered a vowel sometimes. (:
cqpkytty • 2 November 2012 at 9:59 PM
@whispers😋Actually, did you know that both Y and W are neither vowels or consonants, they're somewhere in between 😋 It's something called a 'glide'. Like, even when you're using y as a consonant - take 'you're' for example 😋 - if you actually say the word slowly:you'reyoooorrrrreeeeoooooorrrrrrr😋And take 'want'. Said slowly, it sounds like oooooaaaaannnnt.So y and w are somewhere in between 😋
whispers • 2 November 2012 at 10:01 PM
@cqpkytty Huh, I didn't know that. Cool.
cqpkytty • 2 November 2012 at 10:02 PM
@whispersSo...I guess 'rhythm' doesn't actually have a vowel. It has a glide 😋
vampire666 • 2 November 2012 at 10:06 PM

@whispersAntidisestablishmentarianism. XDFunny story behind this. I was helping teach English at my Thai school and the teacher was having the students write as many words that start with A as they could think of. When they started writing words like "apple" or "all", he told them to use BIG words like antidisestablishmentarianism. LOL
clayosaurusrex • 27 December 2012 at 12:11 AM
