There is no actual way to beat him. The moderators made it so that every time it was random. Only 41 (I think) managed to beat the Grubfather, but it was a case of trying. I was not one of those 41 EggCavers, but I know there is no actual pattern. Hope this helps 😊 😸 ~angelwolfeh

You had to play a game of heads or tails. There was a slim chance. The coin was a Kinump seed with a shadow of a kinump on the heads side. You would choose which side. A bunch of people failed... okay! A LOT! I managed to get to round 5 (there were 10... or 7 rounds) before losing. You could play as much as you wanted to. If you DID win, all you got was 100 Kinump seeds.

Well, in a part in the event, there was a Grubbug, Edgar. Do you know him? He was availible to talk to. I mean, if you wrote something random like "HI!", he'd say (Actually, he said a lot of junk but I remember this one),"I know where the Storical race is from but I ain't telling you."
There was a very suspicious looking words above the picture of him and the box where you talk to him. It explained stuff about how he won't talk to you about the sercret hideout, etc, etc. It was suspicious because some of the letters were in capital. It was actually a hiden message. You added the letters (the ones begining the sentences counted too, like How am I supposed to find it? H and I would be part of the code) together... which turned out to be a bunch of jubberish- but! If you unscrambled it, it said SQUASH. You would type it in and he would confese the location by accident. A day later, the blog post announced that they are looking for the location. Ed said that the location was in the North Forests. You would go to the Ark map and find the north part. There was a tree that was clickable. NEED A SPACER

To finish answering the question:
Once you clicked the right place on the map you were taken to the Grubfather.
You could play a "Heads or Tails" coin flip game with him. You had to guess correctly 7 times in a row to beat him. Before each round you picked whether you thought the seed would land Head or Tails side up. When you won you got 100 seeds as a prize.

That is pretty much the whole Grubfather game. If you go to this blog post, http://eggcave.com/blog/comments/347, you can get to and see what all of the main people in the plot had to say at the end of it.
