Happily, I just started winter break today, and survived! o3o We almost lost power a few times due to massive winds. I kept freaking out and huddling in corners, passing out candy canes like a creep.

You're right, perhaps it was just one of the possibities that could've happened, but didn't. There's timelines with several outcomes for what will happen and it could go either way. So even if someone did see the future timeline, that was only one possibility of that timeline. And there's more then 2 outcomes for every scenario. For every show, or movie there's a bit of truth in there, you just have to know what it is that you're looking for.
