Should I....?

Should I get a pixie cut? It seems like a lot of people are getting them nowadays. I really like the way they look, but I don't want people to think I'm doing it just cuz everyone else is. Plus @cotton has one and I don't want to copy her lol

I considered it a few months ago and my other friend convinced me not to do it. If I did get it, it'd be like next week. My hair right now is like an inch or two past my shoulders. I've found myself putting it in a messy bun or ponytail more often now because I don't like it in my face.

So, give me some suggestions. Maybe send me a link to a cute style or something. Ask me questions.

One other thing, I don't know how my mom is gonna feel about this. She is very weird about some things. Like, I can't wear certain brands of makeup. Or watch MOST PG13 movies even though I'm 14. So maybe you guys could give me some ways to convince her because I feel like she's not going to just jump on board with this.

omg I've cut all my hair really short before. I really regretted it after too. My hair is a little bit long of under my lady lumps, and my mum was so devestated that I'd got it all cut off. 😋

It depends on what you want though, but once it's done it tends to take ages to grow back to how it was before.

I'd gradually get inches cut off at a time and see how you like it being a little bit shorter at a time. Thats what I do anyway. 😊

Hmm well I guess it all depends on your face shape. I've been told it would look good on me though. Also, my hair grows pretty fast, so I don't think it'd take that long to grow back

Personally I adore having short pixie cut hair and depending on what style you want you don't need to style it in the morning. The one downside would be how fast it grows back, you have to get a haircut every 3-5 weeks to keep it at the appropriate length.
And, who cares what everyone else is doing? If you like it, you go right ahead and do it. Just be confident. 😊
If you're worried about your mum, maybe just ask her how she'd feel about it? Even if she doesn't like the idea, you may be able to compromise with her.

I cut my hair super short once, it was awful! Dreadful! I have super curly hair and my hair grows super slow! So I decided to just let my hair grow and get trimmed regularly. (My hair is down to my mid back. XD) Also before you get a pixie cut, think about how it would look on you. And see if you still like it before you get your hair cut XD

@rileytibbles_side Plus my hair stylist said that if your hair grows fast, you can grow out a pixie in only 6 months (which is a really short amount of time) so if you don't like it. it won't take long to grow out.

I personally don't like short haircuts. I like smooth, long hair that I can braid. It just brings out my artistic flair, the way I play with my hair, if you know what I mean.

As for you, what's your face shape?

There's two things I recommend:
1) Try a pixie wig. Find a wig in your coulour/texture that's a pixie cut, pull all your hair into a pony and throw a hair net over it, then pull the wig on and use a mirror to look at it from all angles. If you like it, then you know you probably will. If you hate it, well maybe you should reconsider or try a different method.

2) Try to use a shortening style (I do it all the time for some flair!)
a. Pull all your hair into a pony that is only about three inches from the bottom of your hair, or at least four inches from your skull.
b. Twist the pony under your hair (does that make sense?) until you have it at about bob length, then secure with bobby pins. Then take your hairbrush and brush over it to pull out shorter strands that will cover the bobby pins. Voila and hello bob-length hair for a day!

So that's two way to test if you like it shorter, but they don't work on all hair. Ultimately it probably boils down to how long you want to spend on your hair. People with longer hair generally spend longer, but straight hair and pixie cuts can mean a bit of styling is required to keep it from looking boy-ish or bland. From my experience, the girlier the "frame" and face of your body are (examples; long eyelashes, girlier lips, curvy frame) generally mean pixie cuts look AMAZING with straight hair... But I had a friend who had a less curvy frame (which is COMPLETELY fine anyway!) and she got a pixie cut... She often wore big sweaters and sweatpants, so she looked somewhat like a boy. It all depends on how you wear it I guess!

I'm pretty tiny, but I'm girly. I don't think I'd look like a boy because of the way I want it styled. Plus I wear makeup and earrings and stuff sooo... I also have naturally darkish red lips so I'm safe in that aspect;)

I've tried the shortening thing, it doesn't work on my hair cuz it's layered

I'm sorry I really don't know. I think pixie cuts looks cute and I really don't see much people with them. But if they're coming back in style, go for it! 😉 As for ur mom, I guess you should just try to convince her if you really want it. 😊

Well, I'm most a long-hair person.
I like long hairs, so I wouldn't suggest a cut. But I don't know, If you really like it and If you want to try it, well let's do it. To try something new is never wrong. And hairs grow again after a while, so you won't lost anythingm, right? ❤️

I got a pixie cut once, when I was eight, everyone said I looked cute in it,❤️ pixie cuts looks good. Also, tell your mom that you like short hair to convince her, my mom says she likes my hair short too 😸
