Um, does anyone else think this is weird?

"Bullying? Your not as cool as you think. You know that girl you called fat? She's overdosing on dieting pills. You know that boy you tripped in the hallway? He gets enough abuse at home. You know that girl you called ugly? She puts on too much makeup everyday so people will like her. The guy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying. I bet 98% of you won't re-post this, but I'm sure the 2% with a heart will. STOP BULLYING If a kid was beating a dog with a bat, 49% would stop and stare, 50% would walk away. I am the 1% who would grab the bat and beat the kid."

Read those last two sentences a couple times.

"If a kid was beating a dog with a bat, 49% would stop and stare, 50% would walk away. I am the 1% who would grab the bat and beat the kid."

Again.

"If a kid was beating a dog with a bat, 49% would stop and stare, 50% would walk away. I am the 1% who would grab the bat and beat the kid."

Doesn't beating a kid sound oh, I don't know, FREAKING CRUEL?! What's the point of this thing if its saying to beat someone? Because it sounds to me like this thing is promoting that. I've seen it floating around, and those last lines are the reason I haven't put hat in my profile. O-O Is it just me?

*Note: I'm not saying that you shouldn't do anything in that situation, just that beating someone defeats the purpose of the whole "stop bullying" thing. You're just as bad as the bully if you beat them.

I'm also not saying that the bully doesn't deserve a taste of their own medicine. XD To put it bluntly:
It just escalates from "don't make fun of kids crying--their mother may be dying" to, "if I saw a kid beating a dog with a bat, I'd take the bat and beat him." So i read it and think: "Sounds like you're the bully to me."

I like dogs better than humans. If I would see someone beating a dog I would probably ki...*cough, cough* beat him.

And don't you thing beating up dog is cruel too? You think that one bully worths more than a dog? You think we're better 'cause we are humans and that it's ok if we beat poor defenseless animals? At least animals can love and they know how to respect.

@world I can understand that. XD I'm just saying that it's bit pointless.. I do t have the heart to beat anyone. XP You nija'd me... I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that whatever 1% that would beat the kid is just as bad as him. I love all people and creatures, and I think abusing any of them no matter what they did is a bit... I dunno. Cruel? :/

I don't know. I kinda don't have emphaty, it vanished when I stopped believe in people.
Animals are my best friends now and when someone messes with them, he messes with me.
Yes, then you're as same as the bully, but you can't just do nothing.
I saw with my eyes how group of kids puttped fireworks in one dogs mouth and then fired it. They are monsters, imagine what they would be when they grow up.

I'm not saying to do nothing either, just that maybe beating him, although he'd deserve it, is something I can't see myself doing. I'm too soft.

I completely see where you're coming from. I love animals so much, and those animal shelter commercials always me wanna cry. The fact that there's so much abuse and cruelty in the world surprises me, and I think it needs to stop. But I also think that hurting each other just destroys the purpose... >< Sometimes I just want to run in and tell people how stupid they're being, but obviously I can't most of the time. :/

Yeah, I do think it defeats the purpose of the post. Beating the kid would be mean and being a bully. Although I think that beating a dog is terrible :\

I've seen one person change the last lines to:

"If a kid was beating a dog with a bat, 49% would stop and stare, 50% would walk away. I am the 1% who would grab the bat and break it 😊."

And that's what it should be 😸

Few weeks ago I got beaten up 'cause I said one guy to stop teasing one stray dog CX
Kids are so mean, and adults aren't better nither.
I don't know for others, but I'll take care, I'll try to help every stray, every dog and cat, every animal which I can. And no human woudln't stand in my way 😸

@world Yea, I find myself meeting more and more bad people than good. It's kind of pathetic that some people enjoy hurting animals. The poor things don't even understand what's going on, especially if it's their owner. I adopted a stray cat my neighbor found (like 6 years ago) and even though she's a bit crazy sometimes she's still a big fat sweetie. C: Strays just need some love and a home. And I still think that the shelters putting down the animals who don't get adopted is awful. ): What if the person who was going to adopt them came the next day? That's a life wasted.

I think the whole point of the last two sentences, mainly th elast sentence, is just saying, to stick up for what you see is that is being done wrong and to stick up for yourself and to not be a bystander. I don't actually, actually, literally thinks it means beat the kid with a bat.

Besides, if the kid is beating the dog with a bat, he/she deserves to know how it feels. I bet he/se wouldn't like it. 😋 XD

That would make more sense. 😋 But then it should say that you take a stand, not beat the kid. Then people like me--who take things literally sometimes--wouldn't be confused. XP

Yeah, I know they probably deserve it, but to me, I can't hurt another living creature without feeling terrible. ^^' So what sounds ok to some people sounds cruel to me. 😋

@ems - I actually learned about this in psychology. Did you know that there's a reason why most people don't do anything? 😋

And in my opinion, if a kid is beating a dog (or any animal) with a bat, they deserve to get hit a few times. :/ Anyway, I think that sentence was there just to prove a point.

XP) I'm just saying that you're just as bad as the bully to punish him/her that way. *pokes reply to nightmare* If you break it down and say it bluntly, it really makes whoever wrote that sound like a bully themselves. 😋

@acceptance Yeah. 😋 I just happen to be all soft. The idea of animals being beaten sort of shocks me, to tell you the truth.

If a kid was beating a wolf, god I would run to that kid and beat him to a pulp! NO ONE touches wolves. If I EVER saw anyone beating and animal....they're gonna get it.

@world Really? I get what the shelters are trying to do--help the strays--but I think it'd be better to let most of them be free, instead of staying trapped in cages waiting for someone to save them before they're put down. ;-;

@ems I don't care weather I was calleda bully after it, I did it to help the animal. I wouldn't care AT ALL about he person. NO ONE hurts wolves, dogs,c cats whatever.

In my neighbourhood they aren't putting them down, but you should see in which conditions they are living :'(

They must wait in line for vet 2 weeks, their cages are always wet and dirty, there's a lack of food, there aren't enough volonteers to take them for a wlak or even take them outside of the cage ☹️ Horrible.

Which is exactly why humans shouldn't try and 'help' the strays. We just screw it up even more, and the poor creatures are suffering for it. :'(

Well, we shoudln't if we don't know how or if we don't have enoguh money or hands.
I feed stray cats and dogs and sometimes take them in. I can't keep them all so I try to find them good owner. It's harder than it sounds.

Personally, I don't like the chain message either way. But due to 99% of people being narrow minded and not learning how to view others' point of views, I won't get on to that.

Back on to your point, it's a double standard. It's saying it's wrong to abuse animals but okay to beat other humans. Though both are wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right.
