@whitefire I have another question; what if a Changling became part of a pair? Would the effects be similar to a group or to a single Changling? And how many Changlings would you define as 'a group'?@hay7199 @featherstar_stormclan--Shadow sensed a bit of worry from this new stallion. Odd... There wasn't much else. "What's your name, mister?" She asked, lowering her tone a bit. She tried to keep her eyes wide with excitement. That's what fillies do, right? Oh dear, without Chrysalis, Shadow was feeling quite lost on how to act. But she didn't want to be mindless again. Suddenly she was caught in her own inner battle, though on the outside nearly nothing changed - her bright smile diminishing a bit as her thoughts shifted to a more serious matter.

@EmsIf there is more than one Changeling, it is a group. The affects would be a mix of each, and actually, I think that may be the best way to go, because they will have one other alone to focus their emotions on, thus sharpenning them... I dunno."Er--" The Changeling's eyes widened with surprise as he considered the question. A Latin word that he remembered from a foreign race of ponies popped into his head, the word for "Shadow." Swiftly it slipped out of his mouth."Umbraticum."The Changeling cocked her head as she observed this exchange, deciding that it would be good to decide a name for herself. She took in her body and noticed the black and blue as she thought.A small stream of water trickled through the gutter in front of her, and she caught a flash of ice blue as she bent to sniff it. Startled, she stumbled backwards, only to realize it was only the reflection of her eyes. They looked to be the colour of the stars to her.Silently she pieced these things together. Midnight black and blue, as well as starry-blue eyes...'Midnight Star,' she thought. 'I'm Midnight Star.'

Excitement possibly? Her short tail swung slightly. "Hey, Umbractim," She said, mutiliating he name on purpose. "Did you get lost too?" She was hoping the other pony would know what she meant, and if he didn't... Well, Shadow could definitely pass for an odd little filly.

Umbraticum's eyes narrowed almost imperceptively as his brow furrowed. Did she mean what he thought she meant? "Yes. I don't know what happened. I was in Canterlot, and then suddenly my surroundings had changed to the Everfree."He put emphasis on the word "changed," though he spoke in a would-be casual voice, hoping that if she was a Changeling, she would understand.Midnight Star's ears pricked at the current exchange; it would appear that each was trying to convey something...Were they Changelings, too?@Featherstar_StormClan@Hay7199@Ems

@Featherstar_StormClan Thank you for spelling "summary" properly. Remember that argument in the Host and the Guest RP? XDOkay, so Umbraticum, Midnight Star, and Shadow morphed into their own pony forms and went into PonyVille, where Shadow met a little filly. Then she bumped into Umbraticum (rather, Umbraticum bumped into her) and each suspects the other is a Changeling, and they're trying to convey this in a way that each knows what the other is. Meanwhile Midnight Star, who named herself a couple of posts ago, is sitting on a rooftop and watching the exchange between Shadow and Umbraticum. Sand also shifted, but she SHOULDN'T HAVE A NAME YET! ( @Hay7199 *Hint-hint*) You, I believe, are still in the forest. Not sure though. XD@Ems That sound about right?

Because, well if they weren't, she could be revealing herself to ponies. Which could certainly mean jailing, and jailing meant death.

They would need someplace ponies didn't like to go, someplace far away. He glanced towards the hill he had passed on his way to town, but on the hill sat a cute, obviously used shack. Behind that shack, however, sat the forest he had come from. He knew from the way every so often ponies would glance at the forest in fear that they would avoid it at almost all costs, and made a split second decision."Let's go back into that forest."@Featherstar_StormClanThey are now going back to the forest to talk. 😋@Hay7199Did you die? *Poke*

She hated looking so adorably innocent, but hey, her life was on the line. She was still hungry though... She'd have to fix that very soon. Maybe she'd find a little animal in the forest.

There was certainly nothing odd about the young filly who lacked a Cutie-Mark, but all older ponies had them... Except for the two who were walking with the tiny filly."Excuse me," called the purple unicorn casually. "Where are you going?"

The purple mare quirked her eyebrow, unimpressed with the gray stallion's reaction. He looked as if this were news to him, and the midnight-coloured mare appeared as though she hadn't heard a word that had been spoken, though she had halted at the same time as the others."You know it's pretty dangerous in there, right?" inquired the purple mare."Oh, our daughter's just making things up again," Umbraticum explained, inventing wildly a story for what was going on.The purple mare seemed unconvinced. "Nevertheless, you shouldn't go in there. Perhaps I should accompany you?" inquired the purple mare, fluttering previously hidden wings without appearing to realize what she was doing. It had an intimidating affect nonetheless, causing Umbraticum to gasp. She was an Alicorn?! A princess?!@EmsOh, come on, you're not THAT bad! You don't suck at drawing fillies, you just need a bit of practice! If you want, I can help you via PM a bit.BTW, if you haven't figured it out, the purple mare is Twilight. And this whole thing takes place post-Twilicorn, and the Changelings who were disconnected have been out of it for a while, thus their extreme hunger.

@whitefire 😋 Sure, I just have trouble with the legs. She's actually a mare in that pic. XD Ooh, Twilicorn! I actually like it... Kind of. It was too rushed. ><--A princess? Oh crap, if she found out what Shadow was... Well... Oh dear. Shadow looked behind her at the older Changlings for guidance. Maybe her look was a bit too pleading, though this mare seemed full good emotions. Perfect for feeding. /NO! She's a princess dummy, she could report to Celestia! Then you're good as dead! Maybe... Maybe you should stop hiding... What good is it if you're going to get caught anyhow?/ Shadow was suddenly feeling more afraid than she ever had. Chrysalis would've known what to do here... Why wasn't she helping them? Should Shadow bow to the princess to keep appearances? Wasn't anypony here a little intrigued that a princess was living here rather than in Canterlot?

'There are only three Alicorns!' thought Umbraticum panickedly. 'Cadence, the one Chrysalis impersonated, Celestia, the Sun goddess, and Luna, the Moon Goddess! Where'd THIS one come from?!'Suddenly, with a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, Umbraticum realized what this Alicorn was. It was Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic. Not just a princess, but an Element of Harmony? This could get bad fast. The others seemed to have noticed too. The black one had stopped staring at the sky, though she seemed calm. Shadow was looking back at the two of them with an almost pleading look in her eyes, as seemingly lost as they were.Then Umbraticum realized what had to be done, even if it meant they had to find somewhere else to meet."I'm sorry, we're new here. I think we might just go home now, but thank you for the offer," Umbraticum said decisively, with a convincingly stern look at Shadow, as if he truly was a father reprimanding his daughter.Then, calmly, he turned and led the other Changelings off, hoping that the Alicorn wouldn't follow.@EmsI think the legs are fine, it's just the face you need a bit of work on.

Pm me.--Shadow tried to look a bit bummed as she trotted after Umbractim, but really she nearly heaved a sigh of relief. Thank goodness Shadow met him, or she would've likely been dealing with the Alicorn alone... And she would've definitely been caught. Her feathery wings folded once more, and she snuck a quick glance back at the Alicorn as if interested like any other filly.

Umbraticum did not notice the newcomer until she was right in his face."Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Are you new here? Of course you're new, you must be new because I've never seen you before! And I would remember if I'd seen you before because I always remember EVERYPONY I've met and if i don't remember you then you must be new and that means--" the pink filly let out a gasp of delight--"I NEED TO HAVE A WELCOME TO PONYVILLE PARTY!!! Oh my gosh I need to bake the cakes and cupcakes and make the punch and set the tables and make the banners and invitations and invite everypony and OH MY GOSH I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO! Oh dear, if they had to go to a party... What if everypony found out? They had to leave town before the party... Of maybe they'd go to keep appearances. That'd be the best option. Maybe... Probably risky though.

It's no surprise, really, seeing as the great deeds she's done for Equestria. Did you know that she was the first one to accept Zecora as a pony, before she was put under the impression that the zebra was cooking Apple Bloom?"The fillies laughed at that before continuing. "She was always so willing to trust other ponies, even when nopony else did. She was also always the first to realize something was wrong, especially with one of her friends."Umbraticum gulped at these words. But she was also the most understanding... An idea began to form in his mind at the thought, an idea that was akin to playing with fire. It could work, though...@Ems

"No, I don't want to... Not just yet." With that she snapped open her wings and took off, hoping to avoid detection as she flew towards the forest.

The last bit came out softly, and the Changling's wings fluttered nervously. "And if we aren't starved enough already, jail would kill us... Are you sure about it? You know what Chrysalis said about revealing ourselves..." The Queen had always told them to avoid revealing themselves at all costs.

We have been cast out and we've been out here for days, weeks, maybe even /months/ without food, not having a clue what was going on, and now we need food. @whitefire @featherstar_stormclan--"Eep!" Shadow jumped back at the sudden with of the other Changling, pushing Umbracticum's reasoning back for a bit. ".... Um...." Her wings shifted on her sides, ruffling her downy feathers. Umbracticum was right... But... Does that mean that Chyrsalis was... Using them? She'd always told them that she loved them dearly, and they were all her children. Was Shadow's mindless existence a lie? Her ears laid back softly as she looked expectantly at the newcomer.
