I feel that maybe the required mod age should be lowered. Yes, I read where it said "No exceptions" , and I'm not trying to make one, I'm trying to change the number altogether. Now obviously, we can't have a bunch of 10 year olds running the site. (no offense)I think it would cool to lower the age just a tad. I think the required age should be 14. Believe it or not, the 14 year olds on this site are generally very smart. By the time you're 14, you know how to handle stuff. 14 year olds would be very equipped for this jobI think this change would not only create a broader selection of candidate to be a moderator, but also make younger users happy. Think about it, 2 years. 2 years doesn't seem like much, but it would make quite a difference to some people who would like to be a part of the EggCave team. Support? Refute? Why?Contemplating posting this... Hope it doesn't make anyone mad.

I feel as though 14 may not actually be old enough. I have nothing against kids that age. It's just that some 14-year-olds have not experienced all that they might need. When I was that young, I was still a bit immature. However, I do agree with the fact that some 14-year-olds really are smart. Sometimes, two years doesn't make much of a difference at all. I know some kids who are much more mature at that age than some of the people I go to school with. But I just don't think they would be ready to handle a job that may require a bit of time and effort on their part. Lemme tell you, entering high school is a big change, and may also affect your mind and judgement.Feel free to counter my argument, I just think that this is a very interesting idea in which to view both sides. (:

@rileytibbles_side I agree with @glados. I think 16 is a good age. Granted, there are some 14 year olds that are more capable than 16 year olds. But... I don't know how to argue my point without offending anyone though. DX

I agree with @glados my brother is 14 and he lost his ipod charger and he farted on my mom's leg he is so inmature so I think the age should be more than 14

@semo2005 14 year olds aren't always like that.People at school always say that I'm mature enough to be like thirty. 14 year olds should get a chance.

i glanced through the application and it seems that it's imperative for a mod to have adept problem solving skills.people always told me i acted mature for my age, so that being said, i admit that some younger individuals are more mature than their peers.however, with age comes experience and it becomes easier to handle stressful situations. i wouldn't consider the age group in it's entirety to be capable of becoming an effective moderator.but hey, everyone should be given a fair chance at the position 😉

@IanIt's a good idea. You should consider the fact that kids are going to be in charge one day.It would be a good learning experience if one were made a Moderator. Plus, if they didn't do great, they only get two weeks anyway. What harm would/could be done by lowering the minimum age, if only by just two years?

Hi everybody!I agree that there are some very mature individuals on Egg Cave, who are younger than 16 years. I am sure they would make great moderators. However, due to legal and professional restrictions, we cannot bring anybody on to the team under 16 years of age.I hope that this makes sense. And I look forward to receiving applications from those of you who are under 16 in a couple of years. Thanks much! Going to close this topic.
