The Travel Agency Security Code Bug

Hi friends,

We've received various reports over the last couple of months about the Travel Agency.

Here's how this bug normally works:

1. A user picks an item to buy, gets to the Haggle screen
2. Inputs a correct/valid price to haggle
3. Inputs the correct security code exactly
4. Makes the offer, but the TA says that your security code is invalid, even though it's CORRECT

I am actively searching our code to find and fix this problem, but have yet to find the problem, as it seems to happen intermittently and only to a select number of users. This topic shall serve as the "hub" for this bug.

As an extra measure, we've installed various logging around the Travel Agency that will be reporting data to us when you encounter this error.

But if this bug happens to you, please post on this topic with:

1. Copy and paste information from whatismybrowser.com for browser diagnostics
2. The time this happened
3. The security code NUMBER that the image said and that you entered (if you remember)
4. Describe exactly what happened (step-by-step, similar to what I've posted above, even if it's exactly the same problem PLEASE)
5. The specific error (was it the invalid security code error, or something else?)

I was purchasing the travel, had 3 in stock, bought 2, and then that came up. I still was able to buy another one, and then it was gone. It's just a number bug ^^

Make sure that people know not to put commas in the box where they are putting their EC offer.

I've seen that happen a lot.

This happened like.. four to five times for me.
I dont remember the time when all these happened. Cant get a grasp of any much information here..
To say, I tried to snag one of the three Cigar Galaxy one time, and this was what happened:
1. I noticed the Cigar Galaxy and clicked on it.
2. I typed the correct amount, as well as the correct security code and then proceeded.
3. I could not purchase the travel as it was showing an incorrect security code paid displayed.
It happened earlier with a Birds Nest, Bio Jungles and some other travels, but the Cigar Galaxy one was the most recent. I just gave up in buying travels from the TA after that

I've tried to purchase a travel destination a few times recently and well, i have that exact problem.

1.Selected a destination, went straight to price haggle page

2.Typed in price and security code and was sent to a page that stated the security code i typed was incorrect

3. Tried it a few more times with the code given and still get incorrect security code page.

Help. ☹️

It works perfectly for me, I think some people are just putting in commas for the security code.

@rushingwater Erm... there aren't any commas for the security code. 😉 It's just random numbers.

Usually with things like CAPTCHAs they only do alphanumerical characters because of grammar/different languages (grammar - "do I need a space after the comma? D:"; languages have different ways of writing the punctuation like Chinese).

I picked a destination and went to the price haggle page

I put my price and entered the code

it said it was invalid. I tried doing it 4 times, it didn't work.

Today when I tried to grab a travel, it didn't say my security code was incorrect. Rather, it said that I needed to enter a price, which I did. I couldn't get the travel ☹️

The reason it failed is because you entered commas in your EC haggle. Don't use commas in the future. 😊

We'll add some functionality to automatically remove commas from the EC entered, as it's an honest try to haggle.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but when I click on the travel and hit "OK" to purchase the item, it'll bring to a "Page Not Found"
