Hiko had slept in today. He ever so rarely did, but as there wasn't much going on right now in the Arrisen Valley, he had decided to give himself a break and sleep in the past few days. He now awoke in his small cave that was in a mountain side. He unraveled his long body and stretched every inch. He strided to the mouth of the cave and looked out. It was gorgeous day. It looked down upon the green, luscious green grass and the shimmering lake with the river streaming into it. Hiko stretched once again before he flew out of his cave like a ribbon flowing in the wind. He stopped at the lake and took a few sips from the clean water. He made sure not to disturb any other serpents that might be lurking beneath the water. Hiko then stood where he was, on the lakes edge, and waited for some of the other dragons to wake up or to start going about their day. Hiko always loved to watch the other dragons and their daily activities. And it was even more enjoyable if one came and talked to him.

Maris had just woken up and got off her seaweed bed. She was a little chilled so she began to swim to the surface. She broke the surface and began to float on her back. 'The sun feels nice today' Maris thought. Then she looked around to see if any other dragons were near and she saw a dragon near the shore. 'Wonder who that is' Maris thought as she flipped of her back and swam towards the other dragon.

"Well hello there. I'm Maris" Maris said as she popped her head out of the water.

Eryll circled back towards where she had begun and landed clumsily. What with her flight feathers having just grown in, she hadn't had much practice and was very awkward on her wings. Regaining her balance, she trotted into the forest.

Hiko had been given a fright when a dragon serpent appeared out of the water suddenly. He knew this was silly, since he would have expected this to happen sooner or later. He looked down to the dragon serpent who had spoken to him and introduced themself so freely. "Hello to you too! I am Hiko. Pleasure to meet you. I don't make many water dwelling friends." He tried to get a better look at what kind of dragon serpent Maris was. But the water distorted the rest of her body. Hiko knew it would be rude to ask, so he did not. He just observed her silently.

"Well Hello Hiko. I don't have many land dragon friends" Maris said with a laugh. Her head then began to dry out so she dove under the water and when she did it showed the rest of her body.
She popped back out of the water. "Sorry about that. I am not used to staying out of the water for long periods of time. Really it had just been about 10 minutes.

"Well Hiko. What brings you out to the waters edge?" Maris asked.

Eryll padded silently through the forest, quick and efficient, though lost in thought. Sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a green glow on in her path where the light hit the leaves. Leaves swirled through the forest in the light summer breeze, some getting caught in her fur and horns, but she hardly noticed. Today her mind was on something else. Why did the other dragons fight so much? What was so worth the bloodshed, the anarchy? What was worth breaching the peace of nature? Why did they always fight? War was pointless. There was nothing to fight over; there was enough food, water, and space for everyone. Except when they were fighting, she supposed. Then there was never enough space.
So focused was Eryll on her thoughts, she didn't see the river she was headed towards. First in went her paws, then she was floundering in the rushing water.
Panicking, Eryll thoughtlessly wrapped herself in a net of seaweed using her pendant.
'No!' she thought as it dragged her under. 'Stop!' No words came out, and she felt her breath leaking out of her lungs. If she didn't get out of this mess soon, it would end her. Suddenly she remembered: her pendant! using its power, Eryll drew vines of ivy and kudzu into the water and latched onto them. Trying hard to stay calm, as the plants would react to her emotions, she took control of the seaweed and untangled herself. Then she grabbed onto the thickest tendril of ivy and climbed upwards.
'One, two, three, four...' Her vision was going blurry. 'Five, six, seven, eight...' An overpowering desire to let go crashed down on her, but she kept going. 'Nine, ten, eleven, twelve...' Her head broke the surface and she took in a great gulp of air. So great was the wave of relief that crashed over her, she almost let go. Momentary fear grasped her as she regained her balance, but she shook herself free of it and practically ran the rest of the way up. Once on shore, she collapsed from exhaustion.

Shadow heard a large gasp of breath, and opened her eyes to see another dragon dragging herself out of the nearby river. The black dragon slipped off the rock and approached the soaked creature.

"H'llo. You alright there?"

Wivergh yawned and lifted his head. He blinked as he noticed it was morning. It seemed late, but it also looked early. He stuck with it being late. He was a heavy sleeper. Wivergh got up and stretched. He walked around for a while, not sure about what to do. Wivergh heard his stomach growl, he wasn't that full from last night's kill. It was just a bird he had. Wivergh licked his lips as he thought he could smell some prey nearby. He might as well go for something bigger, small would be meaning more prey would have to be caught. Maybe he could go after a hawk or eagle, maybe a deer. A deer would be nice, they were easy to catch and very satisfying to hunger. Wivergh thought he spot something move in the distant bushes, so he jumped up in the air and swooped down, without knowing what the moving object was. He dug his claws into it and noticed it was a deer, the exact thing he wanted. Sinking his teeth into the fresh meat of the deer, he licked his lips.

@whitefire I told you my resistance was futile... |D

Name: Infinity
Species: Common-scale Dragon & Feather Dragon
Gender: Male
Age: 231 years
Appearance: Infinity is a dark-toned creature, with black scales, and deep-set large blue eyes. His wings ares suited for flying, more so because of his gene pool, which give him sleek dark gray feathers that dapple with the midnight blue hues of the spikes that run down his back and the horns that adorn his head and feet as claws. His right wing was destroyed, and thus he has one metal wing, made intricate and detailed from years of working on it, although something with it seems to go wrong from time to time.
Personality: Despide his dark looks, Infinity is actually quite gentle and kind once you get to know him. If not, he might seem cold and cruel, mostly because he doesn't like to be bothered. Slightly anti-social. Mostly keeping to himself, he's quiet, preferring to work hidden away, forging crude machinery among other things by using his flames and dragon magic. Considers himself a "neutral party" from battles, as he dislikes war and fighting and refuses to choose sides. As he is a great healer, he tends to have more visitors than he likes, and despite his efforts to remain hidden, almost everyone knows where he resides and goes to him for sanctuary or restoration. Has created and applied fake limbs more than once. No one knows how or when he lost his precious wing.
Skill: Healing/machinery (he healed himself when his wing was destroyed by forging a fake wing for himself)
Other: Has a orb embedded chest, giving him the power to meld metal with flesh. School doesn't teach you these things, you know.

Night could hear chatter down by the lake, "Well I'm already awake. Might as well just get up." He said gruffly. Then he spotted some of the dragons and decided to have some fun, Night flew elegantly down to the lake and dipped his wing in so that everyone got soaked. He chuckled to himself and waited for their reaction.

Eryll grinned slightly, though her teeth were chattering with the feeling of the water in her fur.
"I don't like to cause--"
Due to a large amount of water crashing down on her head, she did not get to finish her sentence. Oh well, it's not like she was dry or anything. She shivered a bit; the water was not meant to get into the fur of a furdragon. Reacting to the cold and water, Eryll's pendant glowed and suddenly a large tree sprung out of nowhere, branches moving on their own in search of the dragon who had splashed her.
"Oops..."

Wivergh thought he could hear other dragons talking. He poked his head up and noticed that there was a lake with many dragons around it. Wivergh hid in the bush, and watched them closely, making sure none of them could sense him. He watched blankly as a male had splashed everyone. Wivergh then turned his head to a female who had somehow summoned a tree. He blinked in alarm, still staying low in the bushes.

Shadow felt the water come crashing down on her and the already wet furdragon. The black dragon now dripped with cold water: and irritation. A tree suddenly sprung out of nowhere, and Shadow's burning gaze searched the skies for the dragon responsible for her new predicament.

"I suppose you don't, but somebody else certainly does." She muttered.

Panic welled up inside Eryll once more as she wildly tried to control the tree, but all that happened was it grew taller and flailed its branches more wildly than before.
'No... stop!' she thought frustratedly. Desperation overtook panic and she tried to calm the tree using a combination of the pendant's nature magic and her own healing magic, but to no avail. The tree continued to search for its target, though it was futile.
"Um..."
'Think, Erylanna, think!'

Long post is long~

There were many hills in the area. After all, this was a valley, an outcropping of land that was a natural formation of the earth. Given the sanctuary it provided, one would expect a dragon to reside there. But no, this certain dragon had to choosed the cliched option, opting for a cave in the nearest mountain, where smoke and heat from fires and other substances could be seen and felt all day.

Narrowing his eyes in satisfaction, Infinty watched at he added yet another gear to his wing, blowing on it with hot flame and quickly arranging the molten metal parts into the desired position on the device.

Stringing through wires to the correct "nerves" and "muscles", the wing ended abruptly as a stringing of wires and the large metal frame dangled out the end, looking quite disorganized.

Finished with connecting the addition to his wing, Infinity blew out a satisfied puff of air as he waited a few seconds for it to harden. Picking up the wing gingerly, he placed the end on the nub where his real wing should have been. Already the scar had been laced with a few leftover metals from past experiments and removals.

Infinity glanced fondly at the orb in his chest that allowed him this power. Without it, the dragon and many others would have been crippled. Infinity was doing more than his share in the blasted fights.

But yet, his was the only limb that ever seemed to malfunction.

It was probably because Infinity always toyed with it. Letting out a sigh, the dragon began to draw on his energy, watching as the wires and metal seemed to seamlessly shape and go into his body like they always had belonged there.

There was always a weird sensation that Infinity felt, once something new had been added onto his body. Usually it was just the wing, but the dragon did, sometimes, experiment with himself. Craning his neck so that he could see as he tested out his new appendages, Infinity's face was graced with a rare smile as he moved the wing up, down, open, closed, and flat against his back- just moving a tad bit more smoother than it had been before.

That wasn't the main idea, though. Although his wing had to work as smoothly and perfectly as possible, it still had to be as light and aerodynamic as possible for its purpose- flying.

This was the part that Infinity hated the most. Testing out his wing. More often then not, they ended up with a fall. The dragon had already learnt- never fly too high.

Gathering his courage, the dragon exited his lair, and watching his wing with much less courage once more, finally jerked his head forwards and took off, preparing for the worst.

Opening his saphire eyes, Infinity was surprised to see the ground below him, suspended, as his two wings beat behind him. Letting out a whoop of excitement and joy that would've probably crushed his dignity as a cold, heartless healer, Infinity proceeded to glide over the valley with his new and old wing, overjoyed to be in flight again and that his wing didn't cause him to fall.

Glancing downwards, Infinity found himself over a lake. He was familiar with the area, although what irked him were these many dragons gathered together. Normally they didn't do that. Concerned a fight could erupt at any time, Infinity hovered over the spot.

Crack. Glancing upwards, Infinity groaned as a gear in his wing caused something to go wrong, and before the dragon could curse, he was spiraling dowmwards, right into the lake.

Hiko laughed along with Maris. He didn't find it common for himself to talk to a species of dragon such as Maris. There were many of them, he knew, but he still never had the time to have a chat with them like he was doing now. As Maris dipped her head under the water Hiko heard some commotion going on not too far off. He wanted to investigate, but didn't want to leave his new found friend. He looked back at the dragon serpent once she had resurfaced "Oh, it's quite alright. All of us require different things to continue living happily in the valley." He said this in a happy tone, but knew living in the Arrisen Valley wasn't always so easy. Especially as of late.

Hiko was taken out of thoughts to answer Maris' question. He pondered his answer before speaking, "Just wandering, is all. I like to watch other dragons from time to time. You... learn things about them that way. Get to know habits and the like. Useful information." Hiko loved to know about other cultures of dragons. He knew much about others as he did since he had lived around them for quite some time now. Still, he knew he could learn something new about them each and every day. He just needed to sit out every so often like he was now and observe.

Wanting to continue the conversation, Hiko saw something coming to the lake. Water was splashed up and onto him. He tried to scramble away as fast as he could, but it always took him awhile to get going with the length of his body and having his legs so far away from the other was hard. He wasn't drenched in the water, but he did get quite a bit on him. He chuckled in order not to get to fussy over it. It was just a bit of water after all...

Just as suddenly as the water had splashed upon him, another dragon was falling from the sky right to the lake. This was a most peculiar morning so far! So much was going on already! Hiko looked up in confusion and worry. Should he do something? Or should he just let the dragon fall to the lake? Hiko didn't want to spoil anyone's fun. He knew younger dragons liked to test out their flying skills like so. Deciding that he probably should help, Hiko looked to Maris and said, "I will be back quickly, Maris. I need to see what is wrong with that poor dragon falling from the sky!" With no time to lose he rushed up from his spot and flew through the air as fast as he could, his body moving swiftly. He got to the falling dragon and shut his eyes to make the magical orb embedded in his chest to work. He muttered something and he made a slight breeze come to maybe help the dragon's wings catch some air so the dragon could make itself become upright in midfall. Of course, Hiko did not count on it. Magic didn't always work, but he did need to try.

Falling from heights was an odd feeling. One minute you're panicking and the next you realize that you are, indeed falling and that there's nothing you could do about it but do the exact thing- fall.

Clamping his mouth shut in order not to scream, Infinity tried in vain to flap his wings so that at least he would land with less of a splash. One wing was working fine, but the creak of metal against metal proved that one of them wasn't.

And Infinity was going to fall in front of a bunch of other dragons, too. He inwardly groaned. This was not good.

A breeze hit the dragon's wings. Surprised, and wondering where it had come from, Infinity tried once more in vain to flap his wings. With only one wing in motion now, the dragon stilled for a second in his descent before falling once more.

Great. Now his wing would rust. Pulling himself out of the lake, Infinity saw at least three dragons out in the open, never mind how many that were probably intrigued by the commotion and were hiding in the bushes.

"Great," the dragon muttered, flicking some droplets off his spiked tail. "Now I have to walk home."

Noting that he had proabably soaked them, Infinity narrowed his eyes. "Sorry," he said gruffly. "Just testing my wing."

Looking backwards at the dripping and broken appendage, the dragon snapped it shut against his back, just like how one would a real injured wing. Infinity would have to start walking now if he wanted to make good time.

Shadow was yet again splashed wih water, only getting soaked further. She giggled at this, no longer irritated by the freezing cold water. "Oh, it's quite alright." She snickered at the other water-logged dragons, not the one who had fallen of course. That could start a fight. Oops.... But the other dragon didn't know she wasn't laughing at him... She quickly shut up.

Watching the waterlogged dragons, Infinity guessed half of them would probably be quite angry. Well, that was what they got for standing near a lake, he supposed.

Wait. One of the dragons was.. laughing? Infinity frowned.

What could she be laughing about? Did she want to start a fight?

At least she had said it was alright, although Infinity was curious on why exactly the dragon would be laughing, given the current situation.

"Are you... laughing at me?" The dragon asked, curiously cocking his head.

Looking like you meant it was kind of hard when you were being questioned.

Eryll felt water crash over her once more and shrank back, though she bumped into the tree. Finally having found something to grab, the tree lurched and wrapped the dragon with the metal wing up with five large branches, scooping him into the air. Erylanna was no longer paying attention. Her eyes were shut tight, and she was trying hard not to pay attention to anybody. There were too many dragons here, and the tree was going berserk, and she was water-logged, and her feather-shafts were broken, and half of her feathers had come off in the water, and her limbs ached, and she was going to have to walk home and wouldn't be able to fly... She supposed she could use her healing magic for three of those things, but she couldn't think and her head hurt and she was dizzy.
A hollow suddenly appeared at the base of the tree (which still had a certain dragon wrapped up in its limbs), and Eryll quickly took advantage of it, diving inwards and curling up in a ball while the tree re-sealed itself. Ah, peace at last.

Infinity gathered himself up, prepared to walk.

"I do have important things to do, indeed," he said grouchily, frowning with distaste as he took in a dragon curling up in a tree.

And suddenly he was the subject of the tree's affections as well.

"What the-" he muttered, trying in vain to struggle free of its grip. His wing wasn't really helping either, and it kept on getting more and more stuck in the branches. Infinity could hear the groan of metal being scratched, and groaned, giving up. He still needed to salvage that wing, no matter how dirty or rusted it was.

Maybe the tree-dragon could help him. Infinity coughed. "You!" He said, calling to the dragon. "Do you mind telling your friend here-" he gestured to the tree. "To release me?"

"Please?" He added, as a precaution.

Infinity froze as a dragon jumped into the river. Did she just call after a dragon that wasn't even there in the first place? And why was she jumping into the water if there was nobody there? Why was she asking if nothing was okay?

"I'm alright too, thank you very much," Infinity said sarcastically, frowning from his perch on the tree. "Really, it's so nice of you to inquire about me and my faulty wing after my fall. How can I ever repay you."
