So what is this Gobbler Event exactly?

I apologize at front if this isn't where I am supposed to ask this or if it's a stupid question (I haven't seen anyone else ask it yet), but I don't really get what this gobbler event is about. You're supposed to click on transparent gobblers on your pages, it counts up, but to what?
What can you gain from it/ is the purpose of this event?

@blub The event is just for fun. There is a small prize for those who finish in the top 50, but the whole event is just for fun. So if you don't want to participate you don't have too.

Most of all I was wondering if there was anything more to it than the top 50. I don't think I'm going to make it up till there, but I like clicking things, so I'm gonna do it anyway 😃
