Yes, this is a happy thread!


I got an A+ on my nature writing paper, and I actually feel as though I deserve this grade. It means a lot to me for several reasons.

Before I even arrived at college--when I was in middle school--I stumbled upon this thread:

This thread made me ache so deeply; I have it bookmarked to this day. Since I read it, I wanted to impress a professor like that, so deeply. It was on my bucket list x10.

Today I went into class. The professor called me outside and asked if she could read my piece to the class. I said sure. I am so squeamish about hearing my writing read aloud, but it actually wasn't that bad at all. After, she hands the papers back to my class, and there it was...the A+.

This is the same professor whom I thought I gave me good grades because she likes me, but this A+ actually does feel earned in a way I can't describe. Is the paper perfect? No, I definitely think there is room for expansion. But I am happy I can for once take pride in something and not feel ashamed for getting approval for something.
