So I have a creature foxpelt.I searched up Foxpelt, with an uppercase F and there were no results. So then I go to rename foxpelt to Foxpelt (againa, notice the uppercase F) and it says it's taken!I thought it would've been free becuase foxpelt has a lowercase F and Foxpelt has an uppercase, but now I'm now sure whether names are case sensitive. And I've been trying since like, September.

@dramatic Names are not case sensitive. So whether or not the name was capitalized or not wouldn't matter. Someone could have just used the name before you could or you missed spelled something during the search. Or you could have forgot to search creatures and ended up searching users. (I do that often ;p)

@dramatic You probably searched 'Users' instead of 'Creatures'--make sure to select 'Creatures' in the drop-down box below the searchbox. 😉There is indeed a creature that already has the name Foxpelt. (edit: Just realised that this was /your/ creature. x3)If you want to avoid having to click 'Creatures' in the dropdown all the time, just type (or copy and paste) the following: http://eggcave.com/search/results/creatures/And then type in the name you want to search after the /creatures/ part. (The same goes for users--just replace /creatures/ with /users/.) c:

@karamel @dramatic I think that you searched under "Users" because the creature named Foxpelt showing up in "Search" is your own creature.

@karamel@bubblez@lemonadeI'm positive I was searching under creatures. Maybe it's just my browser or my computer.

@dramatic Try searching again?I found foxpelt the tific belonging to you by searching the same way you did.

@dramatic If you are trying to rename is from foxpelt to Foxpelt which the only difference is the uppercase, you have to name is something else then take the name Foxpelt. Basically you have to waste a rename just so you can use another one, because ec believes the name is taken so you can't change the name to a name that is taken even if it is taken by you... If that makes any sense xD.

@dramatic Oh, I just realised that you did rename your Tific to foxpelt. x3Names aren't case sensitive, so Foxpelt and foxpelt are exactly the same. If you look at the link I gave you to search Foxpelt (in 'Creatures'), it does come up with your lowercase name.If you're positive you were searching under 'Creatures', then try checking the link I gave above? That link is searching 'Foxpelt' under 'Creatures'. If you get the same 'no results found' message, then paste the link here and we can check if you're spelling it correct or if you searched in 'Users' instead. 😉And if you wanted to change the lowercase 'f' to the uppercase, you'll have to do what @mightyeglantine suggested. It does get annoying, but that's what you get when things aren't case sensitive. D:
