Are they TRYING to destroy the economy?

I just went to the cave today and saw they'd changed the way it works a little. Everything was fine until I realized that I only have to wait 15 minutes after my 10 steal attempts to get more! (It looks like 15 minutes is the first wait, and 20 minutes is the second, probably continuing in increments of 5) That's going to flood the game as people all keep trying to get their hands on the new critters. The values of the monthlies-that-aren't-really-monthlies is going to plummet. I mean it was annoying enough to take the monthly status and pretty much throw it away, but now the cave is not even the same level of challenging it should be! Am I misunderstanding something? Does this happen randomly? Am I overreacting? What are the thoughts of people who've been playing this game longer than I?

Its a new feature the EggCave staff is trying out, you were just selected as one of the many people to test it. It is just a different way of working and you can express your concerns but I actually like this idea, it is harder for me at least, to get the critter I want but now I can see the gender which many people like to know.

Also, you can steal more times a day, thus more people have the common eggs and this will help for Creature Release Week because you have more tries to find one before they are gone.

@jazzyleia The gender being seen is a good thing, I'll grant that. Why does giving more people more commons help? Aren't they worth practically nothing anyway? (Unless hatched/high level/immortal/etc) If it were just for Creature Release Week, I'd be fine with that. I just worry that overall it will make creature's values go down.

I agree but the EggCave staff maybe see it a different way, of course a lot of people use the cave for trading fodder (or basically, just an egg they can offer on trade lots) but maybe they are planning on retiring some of the eggs that have been here for years....we never know what they are planning.

@jazzyleia Okay, if they're retiring eggs, then sure I can see giving us one last chance at em, and that'd be great to balance out the no-more-monthlies thing. It just seems that, for trading fodder anyway, ten eggs a day should be enough. *shrugs* I see what you mean about it being beta now though, thanks for pointing that out. I get so used to ignoring the words at the top of the cave.

I probably wouldn't have noticed but I saw the forum about it and problems/bugs and then I realized my cave was different

@jazzyleia Oh wow, I am definitely the minority everyone seems to love it. Oh well, guess it'll be staying then. ^-^;

Ah don't take it to personal, there is probably a bunch of people out there that either dislike it or will when it is released.

@jazzyleia Don't worry I don't take it personal, I just hope they do something to balance out the economy. ^-^

@koimeteria
I am sure the EggCave staff is working on it, they almost never do something without something else to balance it out. 😃

Thank you for expressing your concerns about this matter. I'll try to address some of those concerns as best I can.

One of the reasons for this change is because we want to try and release more creatures, commons, into the cave. As the cave is now, you can goes days without seeing the common you want if you are very unlucky. As we add more creatures this problem will only increase. By adding in a few extra tries per day, this gives people a greater chance of finding that egg they want.

We are listening to what people are saying about the non-retiring cave monthlies and are working on a hopefully more favorable solution.

If you have further questions or concerns please feel free to voice them.
