Clover the Alpha Female

Clover woke to the sound of bird s=chirping. She blinked open her eyes, before yawning, and rising to her white, arctic paws. Clover twitched her tail, as her eyes adjusted to morning light. She nodded to her sister, Rylee, as she padded into camp from her usual morning run. The wind was sharp, promising more snow. Not a surprise, since it was winter.

Rylee the Lead Hunter

Rylee ran through the forest, her small paws, easily skipping off the snow, so she didn't sink. Rylee dodged falled logs, hidden under the snow and trees. She slowed down as she neared camp, before shaking off any extra snow off her lean, sleek body, before padding into camp. Rylee smiled softly to her sister, Clover, and dipped her head. "Morning." She barked, flicking her tail, before padding back to her den.

Blaze's eyes drifted opened slowly. He yawned, squinting outside as the sun bleached down to the ground. Blaze yawned once again, and pushed himself up and walked out of his den. The wind blew fiercely through his pelt, making Blaze shiver a little.
It was Winter, the season that his younger sister died in. His mind went blank as a flashback went though his mind. He remembered after he had come back from a patrol, seeing his sister's dead body in the snow only miles away from prey, untouched prey. Blaze's sister had died from the starvation and cold of the harsh month. His mother was unable to tend to his sister Starlight, she had left the pack and so had his father.
The wind snapped him out of his blank mind, and Blaze came back to his senses. The past was behind him.
Birds chirped in the distance, soon they would be gone and prey would be much more harder to find.
Blaze padded around the camp, looking for something entertaining to wonder about. The Alpha Female and the Lead Hunter had already woken, from the way they were up and about.

Accalia sat on the cold ground, her bushy tail curled around her. Hungry, she padded out of the camp, passing Rylee as the she-wolf entered. Pausing, they grey-white wolf sniffed the air, trying to catch scent of any prey nearby. After a moment, she stood up quietly, about to leave when she heard a small noise from a huge bush next to her. Her head shot to look at it, narrowing her eyes and continuing to wait. Slowly, she edged closer, feeling her hunger intensify. A young but large and meaty deer burst out, hurrying away. But it wasn't quick enough, Accalia leaped onto it, sinking her fangs deep into the deer, slowing it down. She pinned it to the ground, clamping her jaws around the neck, killing it instantly. She dragged it back through brush and over plants, pulling its dead body into camp. She tossed it on the ground, sniffing it.

Shade slowly walked out of the den, nodding at Clover and Rylee. His glazed flicked to the deer Accalia had brought in. A bit small, but quite plump, all stuffed up for winter. Perfect for breakfast. He joined Accalia beside it, greeting his friend with a friendly nudge. The white wolf smiled at him in return.

Clover the Alpha

Clover shook off some snow, trying to keep her white, short fur warm, so she wouldn't get frost bite. She glanced up as Accalia caught a deer. Clover rose to her paws, before padding up to the hunter. "Good Job." She approved, smiling softly, before glancing back at the kill. Clover sniffed the deer, before smelling the faint scent of milk. "It's a baby..." She thought, that's why it was chubby, and so easy to bring down. Clover immediately howled, alerting the rest of the pack of the kill.

Rylee the Lead Hunter

Rylee padded out of her den, before padding over to her sister, and her former apprentice, Accalia. She turned the she - wolf well, better that she thought. Rylee smiled softly, as she glanced at the Accalia. "Good Catch." Just by looking at the kill, Rylee could tell it was a baby. She howled with Clover, waiting for the rest of the pack to get there.

Blaze's right ear twitched as he heard a howl close by in the camp.
He turned around to see the pack gathering around something, he padded closer and noticed that some wolf had caught a deer.
Blaze came closer to the group, waiting for the rest of the pack to join the group. As he waited longer, he noticed that Accalia had caught the deer.
"Nice catch," he remarked.
Prey was hard to catch in these conditions and many animals were migrating, or hiding in their holes and hibernating.
Blaze then sat down, glancing around at the snow and frost that rested on the trees and on the grass.

I know, but it's impossible for a wolf to catch a big game by itself, unless it's a baby or elder. I was trying to make it realistic. I'm sorry if I made a bad impression. I didn't mean to.

Oh, and by the way I don't think Blaze should groom himself right now...lol... 😸

Accalia nodded her thanks to the others, gathering around the freshly killed deer. She was thankful to have found the young prey who must have strayed off from the mother, the gradual snow would soon have all animals hidden away for the cold winter and they would be forced to feed on limited meat and berries. She turned to Blaze and smiled thankfully at him. Pawing at the snow, she waited for the others so they could feast. She was starving and anxious to eat her fill. While nobody was looking, she ripped off a piece of meat and tossed it behind her. She knew without looking that Raven had caught it. He preferred not to eat with the others, so she always gave him his portion ahead of time, so he could eat by his lonesome. She sat down at the side of the prostrate cadaver, licking her lips in anticipation.

Shade had departed when the others began to gather, he wasn't a people person. He waited patiently behind them as the wolves congratulated Accalia. A meat flew towards him and he caught it in his mouth, setting it on the ground to wait for the others to begin eating. He lay beside it in the white snow, contrasting against his dark fur. He settled on the ground, the meat taunting him. He could smell it, mixed within the sharp pine scent of a large tree behind him and the fresh smell of snowy cold. The falling snow had accumulated in a fine layer on his dark fur, and he stood, shaking it off and pushing the meat around with his snout, gradually growing impatient.

A layer of pure white snow spread over every surface already at the start of winter and ever since the two dark furred wolves felt as if a certain weight was added to their minds. Their color proved to be much more than just disadvantageous. Their forms, both that of the large youngster and his slim and light brother stood out from the scenery so strongly that they could be spotted from afar without a problem. Making their movements silent or hiding in the few shadows that could be found didn't help them the least.
Aware of their situation the two constantly remained close to one another to provide themselves some safety.

Now they were gathered into a pile of black with Sabaoth curled up on the ground and Cale beside him with his head rested on the others neck. The construction was a method for keeping warm and both were rather unwilling to move from the spot and begin freezing. Neither of them were too fond of the cold. Winter was altogether an obviously unpleasant time of the year for them.

Cale was the first to notice the rest of the pack gathering and slowly pulled himself up with a soft sighs. His brother looked up immediately noticing the borrowed warmth had left him and was replaced by a cold chill. It took him a moment to redirect his gaze to where Cale was now heading and realize that they needed to join the others. He got up swiftly and shook his fur while rushing after the other wolf. The snow cracked under his paws as he moved.

Both of brothers remained silent and no words were exchanged between them and the other wolves as they joined the circle formed around the hunted deer. The crimson eyed hunter noticed the small size of the caught animal and frowned slightly at it while the younger only seated himself on the ground and kept his face blank of emotion. The junior fighter was very confident in his ability to fetch himself some food later even despite his inability to stalk pray due to the dark fur.

Clover laid down, curling her tail neatly over her paws, before tearing out a huge chunk of meat and taking the first bite.

Rylee the Lead Hunter

After Clover ate her fill, Rylee ate until she was satisfied. Then she rose to her paws, to lay down under a pine tree, and watch the pack form below.

Ryoko lay in the snow, watching the others. Her eyes then caught the sight of the young deer, and she padded over. She joined the circle around the deer, and tore off a large piece of meat. Small lumps of snow had gathered on her fur while she was watching them from afar, but didn't really care. Ryoko ate until she was satisfied, then slowly padded back to the spot she was before, and lied down again, continuing to watch the other wolves.

Clover padded out of camp, on the trail Rylee took earlier this morning. Instead of running, she liked to walk. It was more..peaceful. Clover listened to the sound of birds, chirping good morning onto other birds. Soon, they would all be gone. She shighed softly. Winter was Clover's second favorite season, because she loved to jump in the snow. Her favorite season was autumn, because all the leaves change colors.

Rylee glanced towards Clover as she padded out of camp. She just flicked her tail, before rising to her paws, and sitting next to the kill, to keep her short, fur warm.

Blaze then noticed that Accailia had smiled at him in thanks. He gave a curt nod to say 'Your Welcome.'
Blaze then waited patiently for his turn and then tore a large chunk of meat from a leg and filled himself up until his appetite was satisfied. He shook off all the snow that had drifted onto his pelt and decided to walk around the camp, observing what was going on and if anything was happening.

Clover padded over to the lake, and stopped at it's shore. It was the only large body of water that was somehow un - frozen. But later in the season, as it got colder, it would be. Clover laid down it's shore, and watched the peaceful waves lap against the shore. She shighed softly, and rested her chin on her paws.

Rylee rested her chin on her paws, and lay still, before closing her eyes. She shighed softly, relaxing her muscles. They aced from yesterday, trying to find prey all day long in the icy cold snow with no success Rylee rested her chin on her paws, waiting for the sun to come up.

Kiva and Kiba both in their respective dens noticed the pack gathering toward the fresh kill. Kiva not being that hungry just motioned with her head toward Kiba to go and eat. Kiba noticed his sisters nod and went and ate hungrily not wondering why his sister didn't partake in the feast. But none the less he ate his fill and grabbed some for Kiva. He walked back to her and placed the meat down next to her and basked "Eat Kiva who knows when we will eat next." Reluctantly Kiva ate the meat. She thought about Blaze for a moment after eating the food her brother had brought her. "Thanks Kiba I don't know that I would do without you." she barked in reply. Kiba went back to his den and tried to get warm. Kiva wandered out of her den she was quite arm with her thick fur coat but she still shivered. She wandered around looking for nothing in particular. Her thoughts were of Blaze and how she admired him. In this absent mindedness she found that she had wandered out of camp where the terrain was unfamiliar. frantically she tried to find her way back only to get herself further and further lost. Kiba watched as Kiva wandered about camp thinking that she wouldn't get lost he closed his eyes for what seemed like a short nap but when he opened his eyes Kiva was no where in sight.

Kiva not knowing what else to do she howled hoping someone in her pack would hear her and come after her. Kiba heard Kiva's feint howl and he knew that she needed help so he ran to get Clover whom he found at the lake he frantically said "Kiva is either in trouble of very lost and needs help because she isn't in camp!" Kiva kept howling for as long as she could before having to take a breath then continued to howl hoping that she could be found. "I am such a dope." she thought to herself.

Clover glanced up from her spot by the lake, in shock. She nodded, before rising to her paws. All of a suddenly she heard Rylee's howl, and raced towards it. "Follow me." Clover barked, before taking off through the forest in the direction of Rylee's howl.

Rylee woke from her short nap, and jumped to her paws. She tasted the air, and pricked her ears. In a matter of seconds, Rylee located where Kiva was, and took off after her. She stopped breathless, and glanced the the female, before howling to the rest of the pack, to tell them she was found.

Kiba followed Clover to Kiva and Rylee he looked at Kiva sternly before thanking Clover and Rylee with a nod. Kiva bent her head in shame knowing she should have watched where she was wandering.

Clover flicked her tail, and nodded a greeting, before padding back to camp. She turned to Rylee, before barking. "Well...that was a 'great' way to start the morning." Clover smiled softly, with a hint of humor and sarcasm in her voice. She wasn't trying to be mean. Clover just liked to make others smile and laugh, like a good Alpha should.

Rylee nodded, and smiled softly, before padding after Clover. She soon caught up, before giggling, and smiling softly. "Yeah." Rylee murmured, and glanced behind her shoulder to make sure that Kiba and Kiva were following.
