She stood a moment longer, too nervous to ask now. Piper jumped into a fast pace and continued following the she-cat.

{Faust}

"I couldn't keep searching when the tunnels collapsed. I couldn't handle it. I found one body before I realized that I couldn't bear it if I found you." Faust rushed out the words. First, he lost everyone in his life before he left the twoleg-place, then he lost the cats he lived in the tunnels with. It really was just too much at the time, so he ran.

"Thanks" I meowed, starting to pad away, "Don't worry about the kits, they wont make trouble." Then I added nose high purring, "But the big one might be a real paw-full." Then I padded into the forest, not after long In found the spot filled with moss and gathered some.

{Sas}
I wanted to claw the fuffly tail Starling held high as she walked away into the forest. But there was nothing she could do. She flattened her ears and waited for Starling to come back. "How about you protect me and kit, and we leave Starling behind?" I said, purring at the though, but I was only joking, well, half joking.

"Oh, well then I see your not in the mood for jokes." I growled, flatting my ears. That was the first time I had been in a better mood after we left the island, mostly because Starling was gone. /Great/ I thought, / Another mouse-brain like her./

As I gathered moss, I found three shrew and killed two, the third getting away, /Mouse dung! Oh well, I better get back to Sas and the kits now/.

The ginger tabby kept a little distance between herself and the strange cats. She felt wary of them, but she really had nothing else right now. Piper crept closer, feeling unsure, not to mention awkward about needing help.

{Oliver}

Oliver paused mid-lick of his paw, observing a bright ginger tom striding into the semi-abandoned twoleg-place. What might a cat be doing /arriving/ here, he wondered. The chocolate coloured tom stood and shook his great mass of fur and carefully positioned himself a little closer to watch this new cat.

{Bat}
"Well maybe if you actually had a sense of humor, I'd understand your jokes." I retorted, then silently rebuked myself for responding.

{Blaze}
I felt a cat's gaze scorch my pelt, I turned to see a chocolate kittypet edging closer to me. I snarled at him before scenting the air and turning to follow my scent trail back to the woods, or to the abandoned part of the city.

{Tall}
"So you chose to leave and not bother to make sure anyone else survived? All because you found one cat dead?" I asked tipping my head to the side.

"It wasn't that I didn't want to see if anyone survived. I didn't want to see who else died, Tall." Faust was doing a horrid job of hiding how upset he was. "This isn't the first time everyone I know... Seeing... Being alone..."

His words became a disastrous jumble. Faust looked away out of stinging embarrassment.

{Oliver}

The tom Oliver watched appeared to become cognizant of his gaze, and Oliver gazed on as the ginger cat turned around and left. He licked his dark fur and snorted at the silly cat that didn't seem to know what he wanted to do.

{Piper}

"Sorry!" Piper nearly squeaked. She was painfully aware of how defenseless she was. Having been left alone, she hadn't learned a lot of things and it made her feel like such a kit.

The small cat pulled herself together and walked up to the others then meowed a greeting.

"Claw would have laughed." I muttered. Then I saw a gray figure come out of the trees. /Starling/ I sighed, I grabed some moss from her and made a nest, then settled down with Smoke and Maple.

{Starling}
When I got back, Sas rudely trotted up to me and snatched away some moss. I put the rest of my moss on the ground, "Was she away trouble?" I meowed quietly to Bat.

"It's alright," I mewed, draping my tail on Faust's shoulders.

I smiled at Piper as she approached us again. "So why are you still living in the city?"

Piper had to think hard about that question. Why did I stay, she thought. There had been nothing left in the city after her whole gang of cats had been killed, and she didn't have a reason to be there.

"I really don't know... I guess I stayed because the city was the only thing I ever knew." Piper meowed, a little sad at the reminder of the cats she used to live with, despite not knowing most of them well because of her young age.

Elsewhere, a dark blue-grey tom slumped his shoulders under the weight of Tall's words as opposed to her tail. He felt awful about leaving, and he felt the she-cat thought he must be a scared little kit inside to have run off.

"It's so much easier to run from fears than it is to face them." Faust became distant as he thought of the cats he lived with on the streets. They had been a family, just like the Tunnelers had been.

"Oh." The small green-eyed cat only managed one syllable in response. She hadn't fully realized that fact. Before she could make another sound, her stomach, unbidden, grumbled a complaint at her.

Some ways off in the distance, a dark grey tom gave a brown she-cat a sidelong look as he asked her curiously, but in a serious tone, "and did any of them?"

"Where are you headed?" The tom asked, curious now.

"Oh yes, please!" Piper was excited at the thought of eating, and eating well. She couldn't accept charity forever, but today, she would.

I nodded before heading past Night and grabbing three mice. I placed two in front of Piper, and took one for myself.

"They won't collapse. It's been at least a moon since they started, and nothing's fallen but a few badger setts and fox tunnels. And that was a few days after the initial collapse.

Her ravenous hunger got the best of her. Piper began eating like she had not eaten her whole life. It had been a long while since she'd found mice around town, much less caught any herself.

So I was thinking that I'm not doing so well in keeping up rps on eggcave, so I might have to drop this one, seeing as it was sort of dropping off. Though I was thinking if a few of the cats made a group of rogues on the outskirts of Waveclan, since there seems to be a group of rogues developing, and I don't really even recall the plot for this rp. Or not, since it's up to you and whatnot. 😋
