Do creatures skip stages when they hatch?

I was wondering, if a creature hatches that has the necessary views for it's last stage, will it just immediately hatch into last stage or still go through each of it's stages?

@despair If a creature gains enough of a stat to skip a stage it will. This can mean going straight from egg stage to last stage.
