Rosses' Need Feeding Right?

I was reading about rosses in the archives and it said since rosses are an advanced type of plant, they don't need feeding, is that true or is it just part of the description?

They still need to be fed unless they are in Tims or they will lose happiness and possibly die. But they take views to evolve.
