None of us are suited for the desert, unless I figure out what type of lynx I turn into, but there's only one desert dwelling type."I sighed before trudging past a rocky line, I turned and waited for the others.

I'm sure some of them will take pleasure in seeing who is worthy. She nodded her head at Kelep and took off to find the other ferals. She glanced back at the newcomers. Ha, already worrying about survival. (any other ferals want to jump in, here's a good time)~Kay~"I'm useless here as an octopus." He started to follow Alyss. "Maybe we should rest during the day and travel at night?" It was getting way to hot for him now. And there was that kite. She was going to do something, I just know it. A sense of foreboding gripped him.

"I think that`s a wonderful idea," I said to Kay`s suggestion. "But if one of those ferals so as think of attacking us again, I`ll rip them apart!"I looked across the desert, and moved a honey curl away from my face. How were they going to accomplish this? {Kelep}"How can I help the new shifters?" I asked, concerned.

We're going to want to figure out how to keep warm while traveling. Depending on how fast the sun rises and sets, we ought to consider traveling during the dawn and dusk hours." Agni pointed out. But it was better to travel in the cold night than the warm day. "Oh, and during the evening and night, there will be plenty of things looking for food. We'll have to be careful."_________________Terra stood, a proud beast with strong horns, taking a few steps to break her stillness. She could stare across the vast desert expanse for many, many kilometers. The desert pavement was very flat here. Somewhere, the wind tossed dunes about with fury, but here, things were settled and the nyala watched the other ferals and the newcomers alike. She'd hardly spent any time with the other ferals in the last... How long had it been since they realized they were never leaving?

I suggested turning to face the others again.

They'll hold the heat from the sun for at least a while, as an added bonus." Agni nodded at her. "Considering we have no water, I'd like to suggest we get moving."Agni looked off into the distance around them. Empty space, and sand and gravel. Pretty bleak, for the most part. A tiny figure broke the monotony a long ways off, barely large enough on the horizon to tell it to be some kind of horned ungulate.

He couldn't tell exactly with the heat of the desert distorting the land.~Cora~Glancing down, she spotted another shifter. Perfect, maybe someone has finally come to help me test them.. She dove down, and when she reached about 100 feet above the ground she teleported to the other feral's side. Are you here to help me? She shifted her feet on the still hot sand. Are you answering the call I sent?She turned her gaze back to the newcomers.

"I hope that thing is on our side, we can`t afford to be attacked again."{Kelep}Kelep paced back in forth, not sure whether to help the new shifters or not. Sighing, he tried to move some sunlight over to the left, away from the shifters, but it wasn`t helpful.

We haven't seen new people in a long time./ Terra replied with slight scorn. She wasn't a fan of others. She wondered if that would ever change.

They had to get across the desert as fast as they could. She pricked her ears, listening for any sounds of danger.{Kelep}I growled in frustration, and ran in the other direction, (away from my friends) toward a place where I could think.

The sun was rising, and they were without water, it would get hot in the desert soon.Anxiety began prickling at me but I shrugged it off keeping up with the wolf.

The young man opted to remain in his warm-blooded form until it warmed a little more. He noticed the growing light around them, knowing that it was going to get very hot, very fast. He wondered if the sun would rise rather quickly here, like it might in a desert in the real world.At the very least, his chances of burning were pretty low. His caramel skin was plenty dark enough the keep the sun's rays at bay for a while. He couldn't be sure about his paler friends. It was too bad there wasn't a cactus in sight, either, the thought occurred to him at random. Agni was not always as focused as people would think.

I stand up, startled, and examine my surroundings. The half-wilted grass prickles my feet, trees seem gathered around me closely, and voices echo in the distance. Uncertain, I yell, "Hey! Is anyone out there?" Who am I kidding. I must be insane if I think there would be people that would answer to a skinny teenage girl wearing just a night gown in the middle of nowhere. I plop down and scream into my hands.

Such a strange group they made. The lynx, the wolf, the snake, and the octapus. Although only two were in animal form at the time, but still..

Aisha turned back into a human, and faced her friends. "Do you guys think it's weird that I'm biracial?" she asked suddenly. She needed to know if these were her TRUE friends, before she started crossing deserts with them!{Kelep}A huge overhang loomed in front of me. He dragged his self over to the pool, exhausted. Kelep drank until his thirst was quenched, curled up, and went to sleep in the cool shade.

He wiped some already forming sweat on his forehead and turned at Aisha's outburst. "Why would we care about that?"It's a bit strange to bring up that kind of subject now of all times, he thought silently to himself.~Cora~Kra, you're no fun, Terra. Will you at least help train them? Remember that years ago we were trained before we could gain our own territory. The same must happen with them. Or have you forgotten?She sighed and went back to watching the newcomers' movements.

She wondered how fast she'd burn in the sun with her fair skin, despite it's tan."I try." She grinned good-naturedly at the bird. "I will go with you. Of all the others, I never really disliked you."

She said pulling the girl into a sort-of side hug.Nodding to Agni's thoughts, she pulled forth quite a few bounders, forming a dome around them all. Immediately all was plunged into shadows as the world around us started to rise to deadly temperatures."You guys can get some sleep." Alyss said pulling her arm from Aisha, "You feeling alright?" She asked smiling.

The desert felt like a real enough threat to their lives, and Agni didn't want to watch the group of teens devolve into hatred."Alyss?" Agni's expression remained passive as he glanced up after a pause. She hadn't responded before Aisha's question, and the sun was really starting to make itself known.Farther out of the desert, an antlered woman stood with a bird nearby and her head tilted, listening to the sound of a new voice."You must have heard that, too, Cora." It's nice to know there's one person that doesn't resent me and I don't hate.Yes, I heard. She tilted her head toward the direction of the voice. It must be a newcomer. Whoever it is is just outside of the desert. Seeing that the ones here in the desert have shielded themselves with boulders I think you should test their abilities with your skills. I'll go and bring the newest one to the desert. She nodded back at the voice's direction. My black feathers are getting a little too hot anyway. She chuckled, and Cora gave Terra a salute before lifting off into the sky.Quickly, she reached the edge of the desert to the newest newcomer and landed next to the screaming girl.Hey, stop your screaming, Cora thinks to her with a little annoyance.
