WE NEED NIGHTSHADES NOT NEVERMORES. IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON JOINING MAKE IT A NIGHTSHADE.
The year may be almost modern but the town is on an uncharted island and there fore lacking all technology. I don't want to see any of it on this thread.
The characters can communicate via thought waves only in animal form.

{Intro}
There lies a land in the earth that is home to both a Werewolf pack and a Werecat pride. The town itself is too far from others to matter much, but it's huge.
This town calls itself Mountainside. The year is about 2000, and these creatures call themselves the protectors of the vast town.
The only town currently on a mysterious island known as the Mountain range, it lies alone.
Both groups of Were creatures live on opposite sides of town and keep that part safe, although they tend to rival each other and are always moving on one another's territory. but the young members of the groups go to the only school in the town together, and aren't as hostile as their parents are.
The Werecat's are known as the Nevermore Pride-or just Nevermores, the Werewolves are known as the Nightshade Pack, or just Nightshades.

{Rules}
-No sue's or god-modding.
-Only 2 character per person.
-Keeps types even.
-Keep genders even.
-The year may be almost modern but the town is on an uncharted island and there fore lacking all technology. I don't want to see any of it on this thread.
-Put your characters theme song in code if you've read and understood the rules.
-The Pack/Pride leaders are played by NPC's don't make one, only their children can RP them, but not officially
-Have fun
-Ping everyone each post
-You only need 1 sample RP in your forms.
-BE LITERATE. I can't stress this rule enough.
-Ages are to be between (15-18).
-You are able to be children of Alpha/Beta/Leader/Deputy but ask me first.
-Refrain from using images in your descriptions.
-Your second character should be opposite gender and type of your first character.

Shifted Looks: Jaguar. Same green eyes as human form. Particularly light golden coat, slightly reddish where his fur is darker in the middle of his spots. Note the difference in a jaguar's spots to a leopard's (they're larger, among other things). He is a large cat, muscular, and more agile and stealthy than he looks.

I didn't say all, but it was just funny to have such tall ladies because it's so uncommon. 😋

and I didn't notice that Julie is actually a cat, so I accidentally off balanced our characters by picking a cat, too. Darn it.

Looks: With nearly two meters of height Bren towers over most people. He is a lean man characterized by a sturdy and extensively muscled build. Still his stance and gait carry an air of elegance, his movements seem calculated and to an extent even unnatural due to this property. He has sharp features and blue eyes that resemble ice or crystal and share the same cool and sharp property. His skin is light and seems additionally pale and colorless due to the contrast his black hair provides. It falls in large curls and has an odd blue tint.

Inside the home of Kilian Zaugg it seemed like it was perhaps only a few minutes past midnight. The bedroom was void of light except for the glow of a computer monitor and a few thin lines of pale sunshine that managed to sneak in through the thick window shades. There were also neon green symbols visible in the darkness. They were displayed on the digital clock beside the neatly made bed, the digits showed 07:59.
In a few seconds the screen of the device went black before coming back to life with a new set of numbers on it, indicating that it was eight in the morning. It began beeping loudly, repeating an irritating ping three times before pausing and starting over.
Kilian shifted and let out an uneven sigh, barely conscious but becoming more awake with every sound. He was positioned uncomfortably on an office chair and spread over a desk. His cheek was pressed onto a keyboard and one of his arm hung over the edge of the desk. He recognized the horrible noise interrupting his sleep before even remembering where he was. He stretched towards the clock to slap a hand on it and shut it up without even opening his eyes.
As silence was reestablished he straightened himself into a siting position and frowned in response to the pain in his lower back that seemed to follow every movement of his body. No matter how many times he found himself in that situation he never became less irritated by it. It was an awful way to start the day and from past experience he knew the next 24 hours would be just as bad. He slapped himself lightly on the cheek where the imprints of square buttons were still noticeable and slid his fingers down his face until they slipped off his chin and dropped onto his chest.
Before him on the monitor the schematic for a fine mechanical part were open in an editing software. He had set the screen saver to come up after the ridiculous time of 9999 minutes so it was not a surprise that the program was still waiting for commands. He examined it for a moments but couldn't remember what exactly it was he wanted to correct before he accidentally drifted off.
He was tempted to just move to the bed, tangle himself in a blanket and sleep through the entire morning but he knew that he couldn't, there were things to be done. Instead he got up sluggishly, stretching out with the hope of lessening his back pain and headed for the kitchen.

Not tall for 17 but not short either.

Shifted Looks: tuxedo cat with two curtains of black and a black chin with a black nose but always has grey eyes in the cat version. Black tail, white paws with a little black spot on each heel.

I has a question about how we're defining technology in the rp, considering it doesn't exclusively refer to electronics. Do you have a particular date in mind for the technology cut off/how much do we know in fields of science, even where electronics aren't applicable?
(Considering a significant amount of science requires no computers, calculators, etc, it could be worthwhile to discuss.)

@poe I mean nothing like cellphones, touchscreens, MP3's, iPods, laptops, new age things. I think things would have cut off at large Desktop PC's and CD players and Dvd not blueray.
We're far in anti-technology, and have excelled from the main land because we don't have as much smog or such.

@333 We actually have quite a lot of Nevermore's at the moment. Is it possible to change it into a Nightshade?

Dude, we should put the cut-off at cassettes and VCRs. Because they're awesome. Or not, I dunno if people are too young to like, know what those are these days. Whoa. Those aren't even that old. Or are they? Lol sorry for the ramble there.

So technology is something we really never use on the island, I'm sure, since electricity probably isn't a thing, yeah? But we have knowledge of health care up to what was current a decade ago, then, by the tech you listed above?

@poe Well we have minor health care because the two groups of shifters essentially keep the population healthy and if one were to fall ill they'd be sent to a healer and treated there with no recolection of their time at the place. That's because the blood of a shifter has healing properties.
I think we should move the technology cut back, the year is about 2003 they wouldn't have fancy-shmancy stuff like that anyways. So yeah cassettes and VCR's and old video-game systems!

I away with a start. I realise I am underwater and drowning. The storm! I swim upwards towards the boat but the sea pulls me back. Suddenly, a strange sensation surrounds my legs. I look down and see...a mermaid tail? Confused, I clamber onto the island near me and see for the last time, the happy faces of the strange man and woman...
