This year I'll finish cert II in retail makeup and skin care. I've been doing it since last year, through my school. It's an extra thing to just electavies and concidered a TAFE course. I'll get a certificate and all, but...(I'll get to that)Next year I'll be in year 12.My school doesn't offer cert III of makeup, so today I got information from the TAFE to see if I could do it in my own time. I need to email some lady about it. I was told that it would either be every Wednesday or Thursday, 1-5....SO that'll affect school a bit. I was also told my certificate might not be valid since I did it through the school. So I need to email a statement of achievements to this lady and let her know thet I'll have more to send at the end of the year so she can let me know if it's a serious thing. So far you're all thinking something along the lines of "OMG, year 12, missing a day of school a week, and TAFE" ???I know, it sounds like an awful idea...But makeup is something I've wanted to do for years, I just REALLY want to keep going with my courses, no breaks, until I'm done.I'm good at getting my work done to a high standard in school and done on time, so I think I'll be right. I'll be working too. But we have study periods in school (blocks where we don't have a class and catch up on whatever work)So that'll help. I really do think I'll be okay.I'm talking to the careers person at school tomorrow about it (She is not going to be impressed) I'm going to question how seriouse my certificate will be, and trust me, if it's not good, I'll most likely be suspended for getting seriously angry about the money that's been spent and the time that's been put in for pretty much nothing...I'm also going to find out if something can be aranged for me to be able to miss a day of school once a week without me getting behind...I'm well aware of how much of a dumb idea this is, but no one can change my mind on doing it. If I can, I will. I'm going to push to get into the course. And if my certificate isn't valid, I'll do it again next year, through TAFE. If I can. By 'If I can" I mean if I'm not made to choose between year 12 and TAFE, because I do want to finish school. 😋So what I'm wanting to know is everyone else's thoughts on what I'm wanting to do...?Just know how determined I am and that when I say I'll manage I really mean that I seriously think I can. I mean I'll not stop working on school work, tafe work or at work for even a second to get everything done. I want to do this so much.

@crazy_felineAs a current year 12 student I do bid you good luck XDThe only problem I see is that you'll be missing quite a lot of whatever class would run from 1 to home time which actually affects if you get the end of year score. You need something like 60 or 80% attendance for every subject

@mastergemma haha, well thanks. xD80% here. :/ That's the problem...which is why I'm hoping they can work something out. :/

@crazy_felineI hope so too. I know that some people at my school won't be able to get a score because of their attendance and that sounds horrible ><

@mastergemma yeah. :/And you don't realise how much one day can affect it! :/

@crazy_felineLet's just hope your school doesn't implement **shudder** Compass into your school. With that you can see if you are at school, if you have been marked away. It's a scary website and your schedule turns orange or red when the attendance becomes too low.You can also ask the Tafe if they can defer your course for a year. That may be an option as well but I"m not entirely sure about that
