I was wondering, how is the rarity of a creature determined and how do I find that value? Also, about creature evolutions... say a creature needs 500 feeds to reach its net stage. Will the creature evolve when the number is reached or does an update have to occur first? Thanks in advance.

@longlivedeadRarity for a creature, as in available, endangered and retired or for the population index (species rarity table)? The creature will evolve at around 3am as that's when feeds are reset.

@longlivedead I think rarity can be seen on the population index (critter profile->read more) but rarity does not neccessarily coorelate with their values. Values differ from people to people. I'm not sure if there is an accurate database for it though. As mentioned above, if your critter reaches the evo requirement, the "update" happens at 3

Ok, I see. At first I wasn't sure what some people meant when they referred to a creature being rare and therefor very valuable. But I think I have a little understanding. And as for the evolutions, thank you so much. You were both helpful 😊 @iceiceice @mastergemma

@longlivedead Rarity is determined by the popularity of a creature and the supply and demand for it once it's retired. There are no set values so it does vary from user to user, as iceiceice said, but here's a guide that should help you with values a bit: http://eggcave.com/forums/topic/42588/0#996145. The population index seen here: http://eggcave.com/archives/rarities contributes to rarity and can influence a creature's value in the future (where supply and demand is concerned). The guide isn't 100% accurate, so just use it as a reference point to help avoid under or over offering on trades. 😉

Hi, I was wondering if rarity meant number 1, or if the rarest was the last one.

@mr_noodleHey there. Just a friendly reminder to not bump older, inactive topics. For this reason, this topic is now LOCKED.But to answer your question, you can check out Rarities page to find out how rare a creature is. If it is number 1, that means is is super common.
