Much to your surprise, it appears to be an unfertilized egg. You get upset with the shopkeeper and feel gipped out of the deal.You consider coming back in the future to see if another egg hatches successfully but you have your doubts about this place.

What is the Thief Shop and where can I find it? (sorry, I haven't logged in in a LONG while and the FAQ section isn't helping much XD)

@mika_milile http://www.eggcave.com/leila/thief_shopIt's a shop that restocks very randomly probably around 5 times a day. The eggs wary from 20k to 600k EC. But it's not always a creature inside so it's a gamble. It wasn't a real egg!
