Waterpaw gazed at the camp entrance as cats walk to and fro. The scent of fresh-kill is tempting, but he knew he would have to put the clan's needs before his. Nightfall was still out on hunting patrol and Silverpaw was training, leaving him to just sit around. He pricked up his ears when he heard paw steps coming towards him.

Silverpaw straightened her hunches, kept her tail right above the ground but not made sure her tail would not sweep anything, and she kept her breathing really steady. She was practicing her hunter's crouch. Silverpaw glanced up at her mentor, wondering if her hunter's crouch was okay.

Viperstar walked out of her den and watched the apprentices sitting around.
She looked around to find Scarleap exiting the warriors den, and with swift paws made her way down to where Scarleap sat.
She smiled at her friend and sat down as Wolfeyes joined them.

Honeykit crouched down into a hunter's crouch, keeping her tail steady, then lunged at a ball of moss. Mintkit watched her from the other end of the nursery, yawning once in awhile. Maplesoul had thoughts about getting Honeykit to go out of camp and explore the woods, but she's too protective of her. Sunpatch suggested to ask Viperstar about apprenticing her early, but Maplesoul didn't think about it much.

"Look, Maplesoul ! I could do the hunter's crouch." Honeykit mewed in an excited voice.
"That's great. Pebbletail will be proud of you."
Honeykit just smiled shyly and bounded back to Mintkit, who was curled up in a bed of moss.

{Tawnyleaf}

Tawnyleaf silently padded through the woods as she hunted, careful not to make a sound. Through the undergrowth, she spotted a small sparrow. She dropped into a hunter's crouch and moved swiftly and silently as so not to scare it. The sparrow, only a tail's length away had not yet noticed the tawny cat sneaking behind it. She lunged for the bird, finishing it off with one paw swipe. Carefully wrapping her jaw around the sparrow, she started to continue hunting, though there wouldn't be much food. The food-rich territory had all been claimed by TideClan.

{Rainkit}
Rainkit played around with a small ball of moss, since she was so bored! She rolled it back and forth with her paws, pouncing around to land square on it. After a while, the ball of moss appeared to be boring, so Rainkit shredded it with her claws. Little pieces of green moss flew everywhere. Rainkit jumped around, feeling the feeling of rain, only it wasn't wet, clear, and green. Rainkit yawned, and she felt tired, her energy sucked out of her. She nestled in a nest in the nursery and closed her eyes.

Sparrowfeather watched all of the kits in the nursery. Maplesoul was watching her kits, making Sparrowfeather yearn ever so much for her kits to come as well. She sighed and closed her eyes to rest.

{Sunpatch}
Sunpatch gazed at Sparrowfeather as she watched the kits playing on the other side of the nursery, her eyes glittering with the urge to take care of kits. Sunpatch knew she wanted her kits to arrive now, but her kits won't arrive until next moon. Sunpatch heaved herself up and padded toward Sparrowfeather, her swollen belly weighing her down.

"I know how it feels to yearn for your kits to come." She purred softly.

"But these things take time. I remember when a I had my first litter, I was the only queen. All the kits that were once in the nursery had grown into apprentices while my kits haven't even arrived !" Maplesoul pricked up her ears and joined them, leaving her nest.

"And when the time does come, you'll hope that you never even have kits." Maplesoul joked as she comforted Sparrowfeather with a lick. "You'll be fine, besides, Sunpatch's litter will come sometime in 2 moons."

Maplesoul dipped her head, then padded back to her nest, where Mintkit was sleeping.

Viperstar nodded to Wolfeyes, but shortly after the she-cat joined them she headed to the nursery. "It's time to check up on the queens." She called over her shoulder before entering the nursery.
"How are you today?" She meowed as she joined the she-cats inside.

Graypelt left the warriors den, before heading to the elder's den. He loved to catch up with his friends before figuring out patrols. He passed the leader, and her two friends as Viperstar walked away.
He nodded to each cat in turn before he entered the elder's den. "Hello my comrades." He mewed as he sat next to Lizardstep. "How are you on this fine day?"

As Graypelt approached the elders' den, Lizardstep saw an opportunity to tell his friend what was going on. He shuffled over to give Graypelt some space and made sure his nest was neat.

"I'm great. Thank you for asking me, Graypelt." He replied to the old warrior. "But I have something very important to discuss with you."

Lizardstep licked the fur on his chest and sighed. "I couldn't help but notice that our fresh-kill seems a little bit... Outdated." He paused for a moment to make out the words that he was saying, then continued. "Ravenfield told me that one of the elders have caught white cough, but he wasn't sure the cause of it."

The old dark gray elder rose to his paws and slipped out of the den. "We must report this to Viperstar"

Graypelt nodded. "Or course, I'll make sure to bring you all fresh fresh-kill today, do not worry friend." Graypelt murmured following Lizardstep. "I think I saw Viperstar visiting the queens." He said falling into step with the elder.

{Pebbletail and Leopardpaw }
Pebbletail crept through the undergrowth, his apprentice at his heels. They were getting nearer to two river paths as they continue to follow the scent of vole. Suddenly, Leopardpaw leaped up and pounced onto a bush, returning with the vole in her jaw.
"Great job, you could go and bury it there. We'll pick it up on our way back" Leopardpaw nodded, then dashed off to find a perfect spot to bury the vole. As Leopardpaw buried her fresh-kill, Pebbletail was alarmed by a fresh scent coming from the undergrowth.
"Is something wrong, Pebbletail ?"
"Uh, nothing... Stay here." Pebbletail rose to his paws and tracked down the scent. After a few paw steps, he took notice of a figure in the distance, and then he realised who was standing in FrostClan territory...
Otterblaze !

Pearlpool followed close behind Otterblaze, but heard the spud of more cats, her hackles where raised as she ducked behind some bushes, out of sight so she wasn't seen by the approaching Frostclan patrol, but readied her crouch to attack if things got hectic. Pearlpool watched their deputy, he knew what to do, he always did. That's why he was appointed deputy after all. She calmed herself down, not rubbing into many of the bushes branches, attempting to conseal her scent.

Otterblaze kept a watchful eye on the scenery, his ears pricked with alarm. "They've caught us. Get ready to attack."

Pearlpool and Foxheart stood steadily close behind him as he crouched down, ready to pounce. On swift paws, he launched himself up and knocked Pebbletail off his paws.
"What are you doing in FrostClan territory ?"
"To take back what was once ours."
"If you want it, you'll have to fight for it."

The two toms tossed around with claws unsheathed and fangs sharpened. Pebbletail aimed his paw at Otterblaze, only to miss by a few kit steps. Otterblaze raked his claws on Pebbletail's back and managed to pin him down.
"Give up ?" Otterblaze spat, his green eyes narrowed. "Pebbletail !"

Pebbletail whirled around and to his surprise, Leopardpaw had followed him. "Leopardpaw, get out of here, they'll kill you."
"No! I want to help. I'll die for your sake!"

With a flick of Otterblaze's tail, he ordered the two she-cats to attack the young apprentice, cornering her to one side. As the two she-cats surrounded her, Leopardpaw managed to get a glimpse of what was happening between the two other cats.

She watched in horror as Otterblaze stabbed his claw into Pebbletail's neck, taking his life. "NO!" .

Leopardpaw slipped in between Pearlpool and Foxheart, nudging Pebbletail in hope of him getting up.

"Why don't you go join him in StarClan ?" Otterblaze hissed, then launched himself once again on the younger she-cat, but she dodged him. Leopardpaw's eyes narrowed and she dug her claws into Otterblaze's flesh, not knowing that they were right by the two river paths.

After a few moment, she lost grip and let go of the TideClan deputy, causing him to plunge into the river below...

Pearlpool hissed at the young apprentice. Hackles raised and claws unsheathed, her eyes narrowed at the small cat. Pearlpool let out a low growl, she stared at the kit, ready to attack. To take revenge, her heart turned cold for a second, remorseless in every way. "I suppose I should finish what he started." She said, her voice low and steady. Pearlpool was a kind she-cat. But this apprentice had just crossed the line. She crouched down and threw her body at the apprentice, confident that she would avenge the fallen deputy.

Leopardpaw shrunk back, attempting to dodge, but Pearlpool's leap was too fast. She lashed a paw out, but missed her neck and hit her muzzle instead. She knew that this cat was about to avenge the deputy's death, but his death was an accident, she didn't mean to lose grip and let him drown. Pearlpool's claws sank deep into Leopardpaw's pelt as she tried to wriggle free.

When Leopardpaw was about to give up, something appeared in the distance. Owlheart came bounding down to the scene, sounding a battle cry. The two other apprentices, Silverpaw and Waterpaw raced down after the warrior, determined. As Owlheart came to a halt, he noticed Foxheart eyeing Waterpaw in a way that he couldn't explain, but he put the thought aside and pushed Pearlpool off of Leopardpaw.

"Shouldn't you have better things to do than to hurt an apprentice ?" He growled at the two she-cats, giving Leopardpaw a chance to escape.

Pearlpool quickly got her bearings, looking at the FrostClan cat. "When your irresponsible apprentices and warriors enter a land that rightfully belongs to TideClan, it is only fitting that we defend what is ours." She stated confidently. "Besides, this apprentice deserves death. She killed our deputy." The she-cat stated bluntly. She lowered her body, about to attack. As if on que, a black cat with a white stripe emerged from TideClan's territory, making his way over to the cats. "Blackstripe." Pearlpool aknowlaged. "Pearlpool, Foxheart." He nodded at the two she-cats. "I apologize for these warriors-" He gestured to Pearlpool and Foxheart. "Incompetence, no more senseless bloodshed is needed. Not at a time like this." He said calmly, ignoring the glare Pearlpool was giving him. Blackstripe had always been quite the peacemaker. But can be aggressive if need be.

Silverpaw sped toward the scene of a battle, letting out a battle cry as she crashed into a clearing, but she hesitated on the border. Then, she shook the thought of the boundery: her clanmates needed her. She saw the battle was sort of lightening up, and saw some Tideclan cats.

Viperstar left the nursery shaking her head. She stood off to the side scanning around her before she picked up on fighting sounds and without another word she left hte camp, a streak of silver as she made her way to where a skirmish had occurred. It was done, but something needed to be done.
She walked up to the TideClan cats staying on her border, and watched her Clan's patrol just as Blackstripe apologized. "Well what exactly happened?" She asked as she arrived.

"We are taking what is ours!" Pearlpool hissed, crouching down low to attack if threatened. Blackstripe made a low growling noise at Pearlpool then turned his gaze to Viperstar. "Foolish warriors came into your territory to take land. WITHOUT, Bonestar's approval." He hissed, glancing at the warriors. "You only had the approval to patrol OUR borders." Then back at Viperstar. "They were foolish." He stated bluntly, his tail lash, sending up a bit of dust.

"Will do. But first..." Blackstripe said hesitantly, unsure if he should ask. "Was their ever a cat in your clan who... Who mated with a rouge?" He finally questioned. Pearlpool looked at him with a slightly confused expression. 'Why does it matter?' She thought, listening in hope of finding out what Blackstripe was getting at. 'I pray to starclan she isn't dead or... Or had kits.' He thought, not letting a panicked expression hint his face, though that's what he felt inside.

Owlheart stood by as the other warriors discussed about the situation. Instead of waiting patiently with Owlheart, Silverpaw and Leopardpaw, Waterpaw decided to eavesdrop on the older warriors to see what they were discussing.

After hearing Blackstripe's words, Waterpaw bounded up to them to give them an answer. "My mother !" . Viperstar and Blackstripe looked at the apprentice curiously as he sat down.
"Tigerflower is my mother. They say she is a rogue, but I never believed them. Do you mean her ?"

Blackstripe was a little taken back as a strange kit who seemed to have wondered quite the ways away from the clan. But he stopped thinking about that when he heard the kit speak. 'He has her pattern but my colors...' He thought to himself. "Tigerflower..." He said softly. "Kit, tell me, do you have any brothers or sisters?" He said gruffly. He was unsure about this whole situation now. He was talking to a FrostClan kit who may or may not be his about a cat he hadn't seen in many moons and standing in front of the leader who's clan cats just killed Otterblaze. He sighed. "You say she is your mother, and your father...??" He questioned. By now Pearlpool was sitting up with her head cocked at the situation. Why so many useless questions?? Why did he need to know.

Waterpaw's pelt was on end. 'Why so many questions ?' He mewed silently to himself. "I had a sister called Robinkit, but she got bitten by a rattlesnake. I also had a brother named Pinekit, but I don't know what happened to him."

On the corner of his eye, he could see Foxheart's piercing glare straight at him, her ears pricked and here claws unsheathed. "M..my father ?" Waterpaw opened his jaws to taste the air, then continued. "Tigerflower said he left long ago. I never knew who he was, but Tigerflower said he looked just like me."

Tears swelled up in Waterpaw's eyes as he remembered his beloved family torn apart. "I am the last of my siblings and Tigerflower perished in battle. I promised her I'll fight and become a warrior for her sake and for the sake of my siblings."

Blackstripe continued to stare intently at the kit. Those names, before he left only one kit had been born in the holloway the base of the oak tree between the two clans. He and Tigerflower picked out names. They thought she was going to have four. Robinkit, Pinekit, Dewkit and last but not least Waterkit. "I must go. Me and the other warriors are going back to TideClan." He stated coldly. He began walking away, Pearlpool followed and watched Foxheart expectantly. He was chooseing his clan over his mutt of a kit. It was quite expected really.

As the three TideClan cats went back to their camp, Foxheart felt slightly disturbed by the amount of questions Blackstripe was asking. She knew why Blackstripe was asking those questions, and she knew now how much pain it has caused him to know that his mate was dead. "Blackstripe...why must you intimidate such a young apprentice ?"

Blackstripe looked back at Foxheart who trailed behind him. "Tigerflower was a FrostClan cat..." He said quietly, moving slightly faster. "He was a forbidden combination. I needed to know." He said to her. Now not making eye contact. "I met her before I was accepted into TideClan and even then I kept seeing her..."
