Silverpaw returned back to camp, feeling mystified at why Blackstripe was acting so strange... He was quickening his pace, not being his normal calm self, and while Foxheart was talking to him, he wasn't even making eye contact. Sure, she had been spying on them, hoping to ask what had happened, but she never got the chance, since she saw that they were in a middle of a conversation.

As the apprentices headed back home, Owlheart decided to stay back and patrol the borders. Owlheart swiftly leaped over a tree branch and toward the two river paths, waiting for the perfect moment to lash out and grab a fish.

Driftkit walked around camp, she had snuck out of the nursery to see what the outside world was like. She had opened her eyes a moon ago. She was only two moons though. She sniffed at the air and smelled water. Water. Where there was water, there was fish. The kit thought for a moment, if she caught a fish while she was still a kit, that would make her the best hunter in the clan! Driftkit slowly snuck out of camp and followed the scent of water. She came up on a river that split into two. It was a slow current, but as she got farther down the river, it became a thrashing tide. She began searching for a place where the smell of other cats was strong. It destracted her for a moment, and that was all it took. She slipped over the edge of the river into the thrashing waves of the river. As she resurfaced, she let out a pitiful mew only to be dragged back underwater. The water tossed her and threw her around, every time she surfaced she would meow as loud as she could. She was beginning to choke on water and lose breath by now.

Rainkit spotted Driftkit sneaking out of camp, so she followed her quietly. She paused at the shore, and then she got destracted and fell in the river! Rainkit sped out of the reeds and tried to help her up, but the shore was too wet and slippery!

A log started to pass her, she clung to it with her small but sharp undeveloped claws. Her meows grew louder and weaker all at the same time. Driftkit took in many deep breaths before seeing Rainkit. Why had the other kit followed her? "Rainkit! Get help!" She screeched at the top of her lungs. Her voice sounded ragged and a bit high pitched.

While on her way back to camp she heard the wait of a kit. Viperstar followed the sound to find Driftkit and Rainkit not only out of camp, but Driftkit was drowning.
Flinging herself into the water, the silver and brown she-cat made her way towards the kit plucking her by the scruff and shoving her onto a large rock embedded in the shore as the river picked up it's current. She had placed her feet onto the sandy shore, before the log Driftkit had clung to got caught on her flank, pulling her with her.

Just as he was about to leave the two river paths with his fresh-kill, Owlheart heard a mew of distress from a distance, then followed the scent of kits. He halted when he caught sight of Viperstar trying to help the two kits who fell into the river, bounding up to her to help. Before long, the two kits were yanked out of the thrashing waves of the river and onto dry land.

"You kits shouldn't be out here, it's way too dangerous for kits your age." Owlheart meowed as he dropped his kill onto his paws. For a moment, he noticed that the two kits were small and skinny, their eyes glittered with hunger. "Here, you could have my kill, I am not hungry."

Owlheart nudged the fish toward the kits to encourage them to eat.

Driftkit looked down at the fish and then up at the two other cats. These definitely weren't TideClan cats... They had to be FrostClan cats! Driftkits hackles (even though wet) raised up and she hissed at the two larger cats. She was a TideClan cat! They were enemies, she would never had accepted the adults help if it weren't for her almost drowning.

Scarleap headed out of the FrostClan camp sometime after Viperstar, and tracked her scent to the river where he found Owlheart trying to feed two kits, who carried the faint scent of TideClan. Although one as soaked and the other seemed frozen in place. No Viperstar in sight.
He bounded up to the cats and tipped his head to the side. "What's wrong?" He asked the kit as her hackles rose, as best as they could with her wet pelt.

Viperstar was tossed from the shore as the log hit her, and she tumbled back into the water, plunging under the water as she tried to maneuver around the dirftwood in her way. She pulled herself above the water, churning against the current, when her paw became caught on some plant under the waves.

Back at camp Blackstripe laid down comfortably in a soft patch of grass. As soon as he got comfortable Pearlpool bounded up to him, almost out of breath. "Blackstripe! Rainkit and Driftkit are missing!" She said looking at him expectantly. As soon as he heard this he jumped up and quickly uncovered the scent of two kits. One was stronger than the other so one must have left later. He quickly followed the two scents until he stumbled upon the river which was thrashing and the current moved very fast. He sighed, the scent stopped here. No kit could've survived that current for to long. He was about to turn back when he heard something unusual from upstream. He quickly followed the sound and found that it was the FrostClan leader. Without thinking, he jumped into action. Normally any TideClan cat would leave a FrostClan cat (and a leader at that) to die in the waves. But Blackstripe pounced into the water. Cats in TideClan were exceptional swimmers. They begin learning at apprentice stage. He had always been a prodigy swimmer, when he landed into the water he bearly made a sound. As he approached the other cat, he noticed she was getting weaker, then noticed her paw had been caught on some reef leaves. He quickly ducked underwater and grabbed the weed in his claws and ripped the first one away, then the second and then the last. He quickly came up and grabbed her by her scruff before she could be pulled under by the tide again. Moving out of the way as a large log would've crossed right over them, her pulled her to shore on a small riverbank.

Nightfall lowered to the ground into a hunter's crouch, steadily creeping toward a thrush digging in the soil and tugged out a worm. The small brown bird was too busy with it's prey that it had never caught sight of her, taking it's time pulling the worm apart. This was her chance. Nightfall leaped up and pounced on the bird, killing it with a swipe to the throat, blood gushing out of it's body. Even though she was hungry, she knew that the clan's needs comes before hers, and she carried it back to camp. Suddenly, an ear-splitting hiss caught her attention. Following the sound, Nightfall raced through the undergrowth, going downstream to where 4 cats were. 2 of them were kits, barely 5 moons old, and the other two were Scarleap and Owlheart.

Driftkit quickly caught the scent of another FrostClan cat, her fur had begun to dry to her hackles where raised up a little higher and her tail puffed out. She had never been around FrostClan cat's before. From birth she was taught that these cats where no good. She unsheathed out her claws and hissed threateningly. (or as threatening as a kit can get) She was nervous and shaking a little as a cold breezed past . It sent a cold chill up her body and caused her to shiver harshly.

"It's ok, young one." Nightfall mewed, curling her tail around her paws. "We're not going to hurt you."

Nightfall tried to keep her fur flat and look as unthreatening as possible, her voice calm and steady. "We should get you two back to your camp. Follow me..." At first, the two kits didn't move, then they followed the FrostClan deputy across the river that had split into two. Nightfall made sure that the kits were at her heels, losing them would not be an option. On her way to TideClan camp, she spotted Viperstar and Blackstripe farther downstream, then padded towards them. "What happened here ?"

Driftkit followed the adult cautiously, that's when they stumbled upon Blackstripe and the other cat. "Blackstripe!" She squealed, he looked realieved at first. "Thank StarClan you didn't die in that river. You mother would kill me." He said with a sigh. Then a look of annoyance crossed his face. "You two should know better than to run off like that! You were almost killed!" Blackstripe turned to Nightfall. "Your leader must've trying to retrieve Driftkit from the river and fell in. She was tangled in reef leaves when I got to her. " He told the she-cat.

"Thank you for saving her, Blackstripe" Nightfall gave Blackstripe a brief nod, then padded towards Viperstar, nudging her awake. "We should get back to camp." With that, Nightfall picked up her thrush and helped Viperstar up.

Leopardpaw ventured out of camp and into the undergrowth, hoping to find a sparrow or a rabbit to hunt for the clan. Suddenly, something bounded out of the bushes and onto clear space, making Leopardpaw jump. 'An albino squirrel !' She thought, lowering into a hunter's crouch. She knew that if she could catch this squirrel, Viperstar would consider giving her warrior name early. Just as she was about to leap, Honeykit came out of nowhere and pounced on the squirrel, pinning it down with all four paws. "Honeykit, aren't you supposed to be with your brother ?" . Honeykit shook her head as she attempted to kill the squirrel with her claws. "I was bored, all he does is talk with Ravenfield. Besides, I'll probably be the first kit in the nursery to get an albino squirrel, like this one." Honeykit picked up her juicy and fat fresh-kill and bounded back home, leaving a trail of blood.
