BEGIN:

Samantha walked through the clearing, the group was behind her. They came here today to meet up with the group in the urban area, they came from a small village inside the woods. The other group lived just beyond the treeline of the woods. She and the group stopped in the dead center of the clearing, waiting for the other group to arrive.
Her younger sister Hazel was venturing off alone through the clearing. Looking at flowers, different from what grow in the village. What had her sister called them? Ah, yes, Tigerlillies. She smiled at the flowers, she was some ways away from the group, but still within sight. Hazel picked one up, there where ants inside of it, she watched them, some carrying pollen and others just sitting there. She smiled, life was beautiful, that wasn't something many people said now a days.

{Jubilee}

I walked silently behind Samantha, and watched as her sister went off to look at tiger lilies. I stood silently, listening for the footsteps that would announce the other groups presence. Instead, I found myself looking around at the trees. The wind was rustling the leaves gently, and the light was filtering through the branches, creating rays of light that shone through to the ground. It was beautiful, but I didn't dare let myself indulge in it.

Samantha watched her sister fumbling with the Tigerlillies and sighed. Her little sister always seemed occupied with something other than the task at hand, she sat down on the ground and turned her attention to Jubilee. "The sun is almost at its peak and they still aren't here? Typical, the Woodkin don't care about anything or anyone but themselves." She said to the younger girl. She turned her attention back to the tree line and waited for the first sign that they where arriving.

Hazel laid back on the ground, looking up at the sky which seemed a more brilliant blue today. Maybe today would be special, maybe after so many failed attempts, they might finally make a treaty. A group of birds flew overhead. Her sister had told her that they where called pigeons, before they got to be the size of hawks.

Allison approached Samantha hanging her head. "I'm sorry I'm late I got caught up with someone." She said as she directed her attention to the landscape around them.
"Where do you think they are?" Alyss asked tipping her head to hte side.

"It's alright, at least you got here well before them. They are probably just doing this to annoy us. I'd bet money that they aren't even on their way." Samantha grumbled, she continued to skim the tree line, then looked up at the tips of the houses she could see thorough the trees. The tiles o the roof where missing pieces and cracking. She could see some windows on the bigger houses over the smaller trees, they where either broken or cracked. Sam had been to the area once before, they lived deeper in the area and their houses looked better than the ones near the tree line.
Hazel watched her sister look at the tree line and began paying attention to it, she took a few steps forward, then another few, then another few. She found herself on the tree line with a great view of the houses and smiled. Hazel had never seen that area before. This was her first time coming to a meeting and if her sister caught her, probably her last. She looked over the buildings, they had grown dirty and some metal parts had gone rusty. Her mind wondered what it looked like inside one of those buildings. They looked so much different from the ones in her village, the ones in her village were made of wood and only a few had windows. They weren't very big (at least not compared to these). But sturdy all the same.

6 months later...

The morning mist, diluted by the onset of daylight, began to thin out. The cityscape came to life at the break of dawn, roughly outlined in the rising sun, surfacing eerily out of the languid murk. With sunrise came wind and wind tended to spread out the suspended haze that hung over the weathered little town like a death omen. The effect was positively chilling.
Whatever standing buildings were left in the settlement served as a barrier for the western air currents and the night fog the currents brought in encompassed mainly the urban area, rarely moving on to reach the forest east of it.
As followed, the city was usually hugged by a hermetically thick fog early in the morning, while the adjacent forrested area was illuminated by the sun, rising from the east.
The contrast was ominous, reminiscent of the impending confrontation, as both locations seemed to speak of their inhabitants.

The forest's children were luminous. All of the gentle gender and varying degrees of beauty, they seemed to conform fully to the mistifying background of botanical wildlife - resembling in appearance various of the stunning flowers surrounding them - from radiant tiger lilies to the jadevines wallowing in the shadows nearby. Their high spirits matched the bright sunrise on their side of the clearing and the additional vigour of the children seemed to add to the all-round cheery ambience.

Opposite of them, far afield in the city, something seemed to slither out of the shadow of the mist, as if manifesting from the darkness and solidifying. Behind the great white vapour everything bore an unfamiliar slant and the silhouettes ghosting across the outline of the buildings seemed only partially corporeal and not fully recognizable as human. Perhaps they weren't...
On one of the more narrow rooftops, a great hulking shadow surfaced, leisurely crossing the distance from one end to the other and settling on the shingles.
It remained there like a fixed point as the murky ambience continued shifting.

"They've been standing there for a while now." The report was delivered with a curious note and a small pause at the end before Marzio continued inquiringly. "I suppose you intend to just let them…"

"Let's hope they're patient." the other man said in a bored tone and seemed like he would have waved a dismissive hand for emphasis if his arms weren’t otherwise occupied.

"They could eventually do the sensible thing and leave instead of waiting for us." Marzio insisted, attempting to explain the necessity of hurrying up to the group of scuttling people below. He sat upon a narrow but tall building, part of a circular structure consisting of five other establishments that the insignificant contrustion was squeezed amongst, with a small clearing between them, serving as a point of intersection of the buildings, equipped with a sizeable table that seemed to be the pivot of all morning activity. From his perch on the low-hanging shed he had a clear view of his brothers in the midst of preparations for the meeting, a majority of which included breakfast and tending to Davide. Everything was snail-paced, painfully so, and Marzio was beginning to realize that while Pearemore diligently awaited their arrival, nobody from his family seemed to be bothered by their progressive delay to the scheduled gathering.
Then again, they weren't exactly well-versed in the art of propriety. Vino was currently a shining example of that statement.

“Their treaty offering.” Vino shrugged. “their responsibility.”

The elder Ciakomello-Franchot had been standing in the dead center of the establishment for some time now, claiming to be busy even though his hands were partially stuffed into his pockets. His gaze was directed upwards and his face had acquired a calm expression of deep thought as soon as he’d settled in that position. He seemed to be subtly sunbathing, savouring the first rays of sunlight as they broke through the thinning barrier of vapour. Not at all in a hurry. Just like everyone else.
Vino’s antics aside, Aspen was the sole member of their group that prepared quickly. His light brown head of hair dipped in and out of sight as he packed for a long day afield, while the rest of his siblings lounged around. Lucca had gone inside to wake up Fringillidae, Davide and Kassidy about half an hour ago but Marzio could faintly hear a female voice chatting with him, probably Kassidy sharing anecdotes from another nightmare. Finch, on the other hand, had the duty to tend to Davide today, but he had yet to emerge from the building, despite preparations usually taking less than a few minutes.
The fact that he was the speedster of the group spoke volumes of how unwilling or disheartened he was about preparing for the meet-up.
His mood seemed to be shared by their entire family.
It dawned on Marzio that their languidity wasn't prompted by lack of manners, but rather by a lack of desire to go. Veer was an exception, as he seemed to be positively furious at Vino for his stagnancy.

“Tell them to move, we’re late enough already!” he barked at his eldest sibling, receiving a light chuckle as an answer.

“How Pearemore of you.” Vino purred out and Veer pierced him with a dark look.

It seemed that Marzio wasn't the only one bothered by his brother's inactivity.

"If you would please get off your high horse and make yourself useful." Veer seethed, packing an assortment of knives into the inner side of his jacket with the impatience of a man thirsty for battle. He was barking in insistance that they leave not because he valued timeliness, Marzio knew, since Veer himself couldn’t care less about who he made to wait. He feared the other group would leave and he wouldn’t get a chance to deliver at least one jab at their pride and mock their loss. The childish adolescent constantly sought out to affront.
Regardless of whether he affronted his family or others.
Vino didn't allow him the satisfaction of deterring him from his task and continued to stare upwards.
His silence spurred the younger on.

"Least you could do is hurry it up so we can go offer our condolences to the dead [yeep]'s possé." Veer ground out. He was referring to the member of Pearemore that had lost their life and simultaneously had taken that of Rezvita and Idris in the inter-group fight some weeks ago. The blunt statement caused the collective cringe. It was a completely unnecessary reminder of their losses.The entire Warren group was still bitter, having wallowed in guilt and anger and everything in-between that range of emotions ever since the burning of the bodies. For Veer the meeting they were not yet on their way to was a chance to make mockery of Pearemore's peace offering and nothing more. The same applied to Lucca and Fringillidae, both of which had lost two siblings.
"Ought to spit on his grave too." Veer jabbed at Vino's patience again.
As a hand gently came to rest on his shoulder and Aspen's maternally reprimanding gaze regarded him, Veer frowned. It was a warning of his threading on their collective patience and the fact that Aspen, quiet and reserved Aspen, was delivering it spoke volumes of Veer’s error of speech. The older often stopped him from crossing the lines of decency, which he didn't appreciate as much as he should have. Pushing his brother's hand off, he refused to back off until he noticed Finch and Davide settling on the breakfast table behind him. He momentarily bit back whatever comment he was going to make about the timeliness of the Peare member's death and went to sit with them, apologetically eyeing his peer.

Fringillidae was looking at Vino, however, with an emotional but watchful gaze, as if trying to gauge his reaction to Veer’s jibes, though he was probably just as irked internally as the elder was. His expression was blank. Quickly, he set to eating. That seemed to be the end of it. He didn’t say a word.
They didn't expect much of him these days. He had become non-existent in his silence and inactivity. His mourning had left him more emotionally beat up than anyone else of their group. They had been stricken by grief but maintained some level of sanity all the same. Lucca had a coping mechanism that made him an even bigger chatterbox, while Finch seemed to compensate for his half-brother's loud mouth by closing in on himself. They didn't bother him about his silence but their subtle conversational prodding wasn't enough to go through to him.

Watching from above, Marzio mused that at least he wasn't as rage-fuelled as Veer, nor as much of an energy-sap as Lucca. It was a selfish thought, stemming from his gratitude for Finch's non-bothersome silence, which would perhaps prove to be self-destructive at the end. The others also had decent methods of coping with grief.
Aspen was immersing himself in parental care, supporting everyone else in their troubles, while Vino seemed... unfazed.
"Eat, Dove." Veer urged, sitting across from Davide and offering him a set of utensils, which the boy refused to take. The little thing seemed unaffected in spirit other than his stubborn lack of appetite, but was physically deteriorating, as if the death of his distant cousins had fuelled new fevers and brought on another bout of stomach sickness.

Then there was Marzio himself who was inevitably affected by the accumulating negativity around himself, but had yet to wallow in sorrow. Like Aspen, he intended to be of some help to his family.

And unlike a majority of Woodkin, he believed the treaty would be beneficial to their mental and physical stability. The losses they'd suffered didn't need to be complemented by more corpses or emotional turmoil. They had enough to deal with outside of their Pearemore problems.
"Is there going to be a treaty at all?" he inquired in a levelled voice, curious. Like a side comment, he threw the question in, not prodding, but simply putting forth the matter.

They had yet to reach an agreement on that topic and, even now, the entire Ciakomello-Franchot family bustled at the mention of it.

"Heck no." Veer was the first to bite out, fervent in his resolve. "Affiliating ourselves with some pansies, what's wrong with you? I'm not about to go join hands around the fire of reconcilation and sing kumbaya with a bunch of murderers-"

Veer winced suddenly, lifting a hand to his forehead and sent a scathing glare at Aspen, who was looking at him with the same level of reprimand as before, just as soft and maternal, as if mocking him.
"Get out of my head!" he indignantly protested against Aspen's telepathic assault and interruption to his tirade. The older romani didn’t repeat the intrusion, calmly waiting out the end of Veer’s squawking before he was allowed to speak.

"I support a treaty." Aspen offered quietly, turning to face Marzio with a knowing smile. It implied that he knew of his brother’s opinion on the matter and Marzio found himself beaming.

"Screw peace." Finch, surprisingly, growled out, still calm in expression but revealing himself to be just as spiteful as Veer. It was an event in and of itself when the jade-eyed boy spoke, but an emotion so thick and layered with hatred hadn’t made it to his voice ever since the funerals. They had assumed he was too mentally exhausted to muster out any emotive response, but this… This wasn’t expected. Veer seemed to have anticipated it, however. He bustled enthusiastically at Finch’s intent-laden voice. Lucca, too, seemed to support the rash decision as he intoned from Marzio's right.

"Down for screwing peace." he jeered, poking his head out of the lower windows of a tower-like construction near the shack Marzio sat on. The two brothers were on roughly the same level so they could face each other as Lucca intended. "Two to three." he cheekily announced, recounting the pro and contra treaty ratio to Marzio, sticking out his tongue, then climbing out of the window and settling next to him. He looked down at the breakfasting group. "So what's the plan then?"

"We attack." Veer said with a cocky finality. "Quite simple really, they're not gonna be prepared for an outward offense.“

“We negotiate.” Aspen insisted coyly with another mental jab at Veer’s thick-skulled head, which had the other fuming again.

“With that bunch?” Veer seethed “The sisterhood of the vindictive shrews!”

“We don’t need anymore victims of war – a treaty would unite us against the bigger enemy.” It’s was Marzio’s input this time, thoughtful and aiming towards placating Veer, but the younger romani roared at him.

“They killed two of our own! They attacked first and they are freaking unapologetic about it!!!”

Aspen’s features hardened notably. His voice did too. “They are – their treaty offer is just that. Negotiating would help our current predicament.”

“Negotiate what!?” Veer screeched “I don’t wanna play domestic with those hippies, I don’t care what they offer me! A human sacrifice may just about settle it, but I don’t make any promises to forgive and forget even then. Why do you think they asked us out there!? For a tea party? A treaty would benefit neither them, nor us – being close to each other would only make me increasingly homicidal and, take this as a warning, I’ve-"

“Shut up.” interrupted a deep voice to the left that knocked Veer right off.
Around him, everyone had been bracing for Vino’s input of conclusiveness. Davide had leaned back on his chair, eyes downcast as he’d waited out Veer’s short-lived anger; Aspen, sitting next to him set out to comfort the child as the man’s attention was drawn away. Finch seemed just about ready to lose it as well, while Lucca and Marzio remained inactive, frowning slightly. “We negotiate.” Vino said calmly and it was settled.

Veer side-eyed his brother’s still immobile form with a death glare and, infuriated by the sunbather's nerve to intercept their plans, stood up sharply, crossing his arms.
“What then, leader-almighty, would you do if the so-organized get-together happens to be a trap? They're women - you think they'll fight fair? Half of them are children!"

"So are half of you." Vino bit back, angling his head to the side to briefly meet Veer's outraged stare with his own. As he returned to sunbathing, the younger's shrill voice pierced the air again.

"None of us are below 13!"

"Then act like it."

A chilling silence settled then, the climactic final word hanging on the family's collective patience like an omen. The air between Veer and Vino was static, the younger romani's furious amber gaze staring needles into the back of his brother's head.

It was turning out to be an apocalyptic morning and the tensions were rising and Marzio felt like he was drowning in the hatred wafting off of Veer's skin. It was like smoke, choking him, and he had to take a deep breath to prevent himself from falling prey to the infectious negative emotions.
He leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees and hung his head defeatedly.
He looked at the ground in resignation, watching his and Lucca's shadows as the smaller silhouette lifted a hand and placed it comfortingly on the bigger one's back. He briefly smiled, lifting his head to eye Lucca's apologetic expression, which was backlit into darkness by the setting sun, but his sheepish smile was still discernible.
Marzio patted his shoulder, knowing the younger understood what he was going through, but suddenly something about the angle of the sunlight struck him odd and he realized - they'd just had breakfast. It was still morning, so why was the sun on the west sky, hanging close to the horizon.

Vino...

Marzio stared down in bewilderment, eyeing his distorted shadow, then turned around to look at the sun behind himself. Lucca, next to him, seemed to catch on too, and the two of them watched in amusement as the sun smoothly coasted down towards the west horizon.
The stray sunrays briefly caught on Vino’s face, the shadow of his cheekbones and nose shifted noticeably, and Veer’s eyes widened.
His head snapped up to his left - he eyed the east sky, where the sun had surfaced a mere two hours ago, then traced the golden disk’s path overhead to where it was casting a 5 o’clock shadow on their right. When he looked back at Vino his mouth was stretched into a bewildered smirk.
“Well gosh, you should’ve said something.” he laughed out, just as shocked at the revelation that Vino had literally shifted the sun as the rest of their family was. Looking up again at the bright light, he frowned and shielded his sight. He’d formulated it incorrectly in his head, he supposed – shifting the sun wasn’t within Vino’s light-bending capabilities, he needn’t have put him on such a pedestal just yet. Still, he hadn’t witnessed his eldest sibling employing his power to such a grand scale until now.
The light he had to manipulate probably encompassed the area from current residency to the forest, as far as it stretched, in order for the collective illusion to work.
It was grandiose to watch.
The light was bending under Vino’s watchful gaze, the angle of the sunrays shifted with each second, and, god, he was literally making the sun appear fifty meters west of its originally intended location…

Nifty little illusion, Veer mused, realizing that as they arrived at the meeting they would be effectively backlit and with the sun’s glare on their side. If anything, upon witnessing this, Pearemore would know who they were dealing with.

Haha, imagined a time card. And WOW long post. My post is like comparing the size of Earth to Jupiter.

~~~~
A thick stench alike to fruit that had been out in the sun too long clung in the air, a child refusing to let go of their mother. The scene before her was hazy, everything was a murky blue, the darkness of night creating a monochromatic landscape. She took a step forward, hoping to assuage the feeling that screamed something terrible had happened, hoping to prove her own dark thoughts wrong. Perhaps, just perhaps, I'm jumping to ridiculous conclusions again, she told herself again, her words going around in her head.
Her attempts to brighten her thoughts shattered as she saw the scene in front of her clearly. Her friends, no her family lay on the ground, blood pooling around them. To the right she heard scuffling, shouts, sounds of distress as another member of her makeshift family fell down to join the others. As she turned to run towards the voice, now clearly recognizable as Vino, a face of a woman met hers, and a knife began to descend to her. She watched, it was like a movie, she distantly thought, except it's happening to me. The blood appeared to fountain up in slow motion. What a way to die, unable to help, useless in every way. How could I not foresee this? I could have helped...
Kassidy blinked and squinted, the new light contrasting greatly with the night scene from before. It was just another nightmare vision, she sat up and noticed that Lucca was there too.
"Huh, time to wake up, already? I was just in the most ~wonderful dream. You were there. And Vino was there. And we were in just a great predicament. Dead, dying, or fighting to the death with some other girls. Isn't that great?" She sighed, done with her heavily sarcasm laced mini rant. She stood up, grabbed her hairtie, and then started to make her way out of the building.
Today's the day, meeting to make a treaty with Pearemore. She listened quietly as all the boys argued about it. Personally, she didn't really understand all their squabbling. Enemies at a time like this... Better to make peace, then never talk to them again. We let them live and for them to let us live. Kassidy's thoughts then started to drift back to her nightmare. Would that happen as a result of the treaty or not? Would the treaty not happen and lead to that or some backstabbing after the treaty?
Before she knew it, it was time to go. The others of Warren began to start out toward the meeting place behind Vino. She followed, but mentally scoffed at the elaborate display he created. She shook her head a little. We just need to have pizzazz I guess...
@dramatic @hay7199 @iceiceice @featherstar_nightclan
Victorious by Sasuri Goza Masuka listen to this plz
The Ciakomello-Franchots set out towards the meeting grounds with Kassidy in tow and solemn expressions on a majority of their faces. Though they were wonderfully backlit into darkness and the dramaticism of their appearance satisfied their flare for theatrics, they still felt the underlying anxiety of the upcoming confrontation. They'd made no mistake thinking the possibility for a full-out war was minor and they'd packed for a fight, weapons and food supplies and all.
They'd left Davide at the establishment.
Upon hearing his big brothers and sister were leaving him at home the child had been utterly unconsolable. Aspen was visibly distraught, glancing back intermittently, worried that the sickly little thing would follow them. The child was incredibly dependant on them and they'd had to go through some time to convince him to stay at home, as he wasn't in any condition to be out in the moderately cold weather. Davide wasn't able to protect himself if a fight were to break out either, but nobody mentioned that to him.
On top of that, in the horrid case that something happened, Aspen didn't want the child being involved.
Everything that had just transpired and everything that impended notwithstanding, Lucca still maintained his unquestionable positivity and cheery mood.
The rest were chatting quietly amongst one another, planning and worrying, while he jogged up to Kassidy, deciding to walk by her as she'd verbally isolated herself from the group and he wanted to ignore the depressing topics his siblings indulged.
"Think we'll get some forest goodies as a treaty bribe? I haven't eaten fruit in weeks." Pointless conversation, but it was better than opening a conversation about her dreams.
(I honestly almost completely forgot about this XD)
Samantha sat on the ground, breathing in the air that was scented with grass and flowers. She wasn't the most patient of the bunch, considering her always having so much on her plate and being occupied with things; She never honestly had time to keep calm and sit down, usually being very fidgety when she did so.
She closed her eyes and began thinking, thinking about how everything was before "it" happened. How her entire life was pulled out from under her like a rug. The only good thing that had ever come out of it was that she met the people she was with now. She met her new family. Samantha wouldn't change that for the world. She opened her eyes and for no particular reason began creating the Illusion that a tree at the tree lines was disappearing and re-appearing constantly. She looked at the other girls, making sure they weren't asleep from the amount of waiting that was being done. Samantha sighed, she was trying her hardest to be patient, she really was, but at the same time she began to wonder if they had decided not to come. Wouldn't put it past them She thought to herself. She wasn't the nicest woman in the world, she had no trouble admitting that, but at the same time she wanted to attempt to be nicer. So if they did[/] show up, she'd be as polite as possible. (With a few slip ups knowing her sarcastic self)
Hazel looked around at the treeline, noticing her sister began paying more attention to it, so she slowly began backing away from it as she watched a tree disappear and re-appear. Hazel nervously moved back to her patch of tiger lilies, once again focusing on them. Then she thought of using her Clairvoyance to see if the Woodkin where coming. She closed her eyes and cleared her mind. Trying to focus on locating them. The picture appeared in her head of them, well, [i]sort of
them. Everything was so blurry, she couldn't make out their surrounding's or features, just silhouettes of the group. A sudden headache pounded at the side of her skull, causing her to lose grip on her powers, which was easy because she hadn't quite mastered them yet. That always happened, she could never hold a vision for too long. Hazel groaned at the throbbing pain coming from her head, then laid back against the ground. The large birds once again flew overhead. They where all to common this close to the city.
Kassidy rolled her eyes a bit at Lucca's attempt at small talk, but decided to take part of the conversation anyway. Better to keep her mind off her dream, plus the quietness was unnerving her. The others talking was muted, and she couldn't make out what they were saying, but she had a pretty good idea on what they were discussing.
"Maybe, but most likely not. They don't seem to be one to bribe." She tugged at her jacket, wrapping it tighter around her. "It's a bit cold," she absentmindedly observed. They were getting closer to the meeting spot, and she could see the blurry figures of Pearemore. She tried squinting to see more clearly, but to no avail.
"Lucca, is there anything distinguishing about the people of Pearemore? Can't see them that much yet." The breeze was licking at her face, whipping the loose hairs of her ponytail around. I have a bad feeling about this.
@hay7199 no worries, I forgot about it for six months xD @spiritkoi
@iceiceice @dramatic @featherstar_nightclan anyone else actually in this? =P
Lucca folloqed Kassidy's example and squinted at the horizon and frowning at his inability to see their oponents properly. He was growing restless, just as anxjous as the girl to see what kind of people Pearemore consisted of. They generally had the advantage of the sun and he was sure that their group looked like an amorphous mass od black to the other group, but he was still impatient to gain the upper hand and see them.
"Can't see either." he mumbled lightly. "Ey Finch!"
The man trailing far behind them raised his head an an eyebrow at Lucca, features a mix of nonchalance and contrasting seriousness.
"Can you scout ahead, see what the Pears are like?" Lucca suggested, smiling encouragingly and hopefully at his brother. He knew the other was in a mood but his suggestion was helpful. "Can't risk getting rotten fruit."
Swallowing down a sigh of exasperation, Fringillidae stopped in his tracks silently, shook off one leg, then the other, bounced briefly on the pillows of his feet, then took off in an indistinguishable blur of motion towards the forest clearing where Pearemore were situated.
Lucca whipped his head around to follow his movement. Then he caught Aspen's harsh frown aimed at him.
"What?"
"He's upset - he'll do something stupid." the older reprimanded, stern eyes set on his brother.
And truly, instead of circummavigating the clearing and spying their location and numbers from afar, Finch directly planted himself in front of the offense, coming to a stop close by the female group.
His stance suggested an intimidating intention and he had the grim expression of someone umprepared for civilized talk, but he simply inspected the women silently, looming above them in an aminous manner.
Samantha looked at the approaching male, taking a deep breath, standing up and not even comparing to his height. She was just 5"2, she'd been that way sense she was sixteen. She then closed the gap between them, making sure to still stay about six feet away. Locking her eyes with his, she was ready to defend. But wasn't going to attack first unless provoked. She stood up, looking over to her sister who was a safe distance away if anything happened.
Sighing she put her hands on her hips, clearly wanting to make a sarcastic comment about how long they'd been waiting. Samantha closed her eyes and mentally struggled to get her hands off her waist, and shoved the comment back down her throat. She shoved her hands into her pockets quickly before they changed their minds. Then plastered what was clearly a fake smile on her face. Then pulled her hair over her left shoulder and began to stroke it. It was her 'tick', what she did when she was nervous. She threw it back over her shoulder, it had given her some confidence. Sam finally spoke, her voice showing no fear. "Hello, it's nice to see you." She said through her teeth. She offered her hand to the younger but taller man, leaning forward slightly.
Hazel watched the beginning of the transaction. Her older sister was ready to defend, though still with an attempt to be nice. Although Hazel knew if it came down to hand-to-hand combat. Her sister would definitely lose. Samantha might be skilled with her powers, but not with close range fighting, and by the looks of it, he could snap her like a twig in a second if he wanted too. Hazel hugged her knee's to her chest, then took a band off her wrist and tied her hair up, so if anything did happen, her hair wouldn't get in the way. She wasn't perfect at it, but she was still relatively good with hand-to-hand because her powers did nothing to help her with fighting.
Hazel let out a sigh, waiting for something interesting to happen. Either, they'd walk out with a treaty, or no treaty at all. Because of her sister's fool hearty and hot headed nature, she was leaning toward them leaving without a treaty.
His usually bright gaze was dark with malicious intent and his body stood rigidly with an arrogant posture that underlined his size.
Unlike the woman's half-assed attempts at being nice, he didn't feign kindness. For someone who'd organized the meet-up with all seriousness, she was quick to dramaticize the situation and start the false pretences. The arrogant hairflip was perhaps the most infuriating of her motor ticks, though each of her theatrics annoyed him further.
Upon arriving he'd briefly caught sight of the children and that had shaken his conviction in his own righteousness, because the other group didn't seem prepared for a fight whatsoever.
The cocky blonde completely shattered that perception within seconds of opening her mouth and Fringillidae's features hardened again, his resolution strenghtening.
She was most certainly not sorry.
All insincere smiles and ostenatious displays of restraint, as if she wanted to outwardly mock him for ever attending this parody of a treaty offer. She acted so superior and so offhanded, like they weren't all here to speak of the victims of their feud instead of the weather.
She possessed a certain infuriating nonchalance, a distinct lack of involvement in anything but her own pride that made Fringillidae's anger boil.
He definitely wouldn't play nice for her sake.
"No." he answered the greeting. "It isn't."
"Um, okay then..." Samantha said awkwardly, dropping her hand to her side. She gave him an odd glance, he clearly wasn't a very compliant person, that's for sure. Her nervousness once again took control, but she took in a sharp breath, refusing to grab her hair again. Samantha wanted to meet up to discuss a treaty, but if he was the only one who was going to show up. She had definitely got her work cut out of her. It was clear that her patience was already wearing thin because of the amount of time she had to sit around and do nothing. She continued to try and keep herself in check. Her nervousness and short patience made her a bit easier to agitate, and by a bit, I mean a lot. Her smile dissipated. If he wasn't going to attempt, then she clearly wasn't either. "Okay, let's just cut the crap and skip the idle chatter. You here to talk business or what?" Samantha said in a serious and almost grim tone.
Hazel continued to watch, the smile from her sisters attempt at being nice disappear quickly. She seen her face go serious. Well, this isn't going to end very well. Hazel thought to herself. Anything her sister says can usually set someone off. Especially if they're already upset. She stood up, thinking about approaching. But apparently her head thought otherwise as the throbbing pain started up again and she sat back down with a thud.
