I woke up this morning and saw the creature Xoloti. It looked very similar to my suggestion.

Does anyone else see it? The egg was just how I would have imagined it to look too. .-.

Edit: I am not looking to get credit for this creature, just wondering what people think. Also not claiming eggcave stole my idea our anything. Just sharing my thoughts of this morning. It is in the discussion section after all.

Eh. I think they just have slight similarities.

There's no way they could have copied the egg, if you didn't draw the egg. It looking like you thought it would look is just a sheer coincidence.

I can see the similarities, but they're not enough for me to agree that they used it for the Xoloti since it's just slight similarities o-o and I agree with @despair on the egg. They couldn't have copied something that wasn't drawn.

If you are not credited in the Archives entry for a newly-released creature, our artists did NOT use or consult your creature suggestion. Artists are required to inform us when they have used a user suggestion so that we can, of course, give credit where credit is due and give you a free creature. However, any similarity in concept does not allow you to lay claim to a newly-released creature. Aside from both creatures being grey there are no other similarities between the Xoloti and your suggestion, even in the later stages.

@mcmelody @Orderedchaos @despair oh I just said they looked similar. Not that they copied. :/

Not looking for a free creator or credit.I don't care about any of that stuff. Just discussing how they look a like. And wanted a conversation. Not to accuse eggcave of stealing.

It wouldn't make sense to accuse someone of copying something I only imagined and didn't draw...

@yogurt

Sorry, but it looks nothing like it. Yeah, it's gray, and it has some patterns on it, but the concept otherwise seems totally different? As in, clearly some mutant cat (or is it a mouse? Hard to tell with the tail)? Whereas the Xoloti looks more like some alien thing?

And how can you lay claim to an egg you didn't even draw? I imagine tons of different patterns for eggs, some of which have been created. I can't take credit for something just because "I thought of it." I didn't draw it and suggest it and therefore it is not in any way my work. My rough ideas aren't that special; I'm not the only person on this site to /picture/, say, a zebra-striped egg that looks similar to the Zebbit's. I'm pretty sure about a dozen other people could (and have) as well. Doesn't entitle anyone to anything. =/

Well, I wasn't attempting to directly insinuate that you were accusing eggcave of stealing your idea, I was just addressing that issue just in case that was what you happened to be thinking. That being said, the way you started your topic kind of made it sound like you WERE accusing eggcave of stealing. It just wasn't clear to me. 😊

They don't even really look that similar to me, to be completely honest. The only thing I truly see in common is them both being gray.

I agree with @despair. Why ask if you weren't looking to make some point?

@metaphor @despair this is the discussion section so maybe I made to to discuss and see if anyone saw any similarity?

If I had a problem with eggcave then I would have made a ticket which I didnt.

@yogurt

And that's what I'm doing. I've said twice that I saw very few similarites.

I even stated that I didn't mean to falsely accuse you. Now it sound like you're getting kind of defensive.

@despair no metaphor had a question and brought you into it so thought I would just answer.
And yes I can see where there may be misunderstandings. And wanted to make it clear that I don't think eggcave stole anything.

"I agree with @despair. Why ask if you weren't looking to make some point?"

I was just trying too answer that. (:
