I'm in upstate NY and yeah, I felt it. This has been the second earthquake I've been through. The other one was quite a few years ago when there was one in Canada.I really don't like the after effects. My stomach is still uneasy. Feels like I've ridden a roller coaster. 😋
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:19 PM
@joy Im crying Im so scared. We are suppost to get another thats 6 or above.
roversydneygirl • 23 August 2011 at 2:21 PM
OH MY GOSH MY MOM AND I JUST FELT IT AND WE SCREAMED AND I HAD TO RUN OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE IN MY UNDERWEAR!It it Washington DC, New York, and Virginia, I think. It might be the effects of that hurricane going to the cost of Flordia. And I agree @joy , I also HATE roller coasters!
joy • 23 August 2011 at 2:23 PM
@bluegirl80 Awe *Hugs* Just try to relax. (:
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:24 PM
@joy Yeah... Its just I was like half a mile away from home. I ran until I got back,
lisa1321 • 23 August 2011 at 2:25 PM
I live in New York and didn't feel it.
rosey77 • 23 August 2011 at 2:26 PM
I live right next to the fault line (very likely to have an earthquake) and I've only felt an earthquake once. And it was a tiny one.
meixiaotian • 23 August 2011 at 2:26 PM
@bluegirl80 @isablah 's mom is in new york, She said it was small.
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:27 PM
I live right next to VA where it started. I live really close.
icymuffin • 23 August 2011 at 2:28 PM
It said that it was 5.8 earlier. I guess they changed it xDExpect some smaller ones following... o^oI feel bad for people who are in libraries when there are earthquakesI wonder if books fall...
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:30 PM
@icymuffin My mom was in our house next to the bookshelf. Not to many books fell.
liza200aa • 23 August 2011 at 2:32 PM
we had an earthquake! it was so fun! all the furniture was jumping and the whole house was vibrating! my family: AHHH! WERE DOOMED! THE HOUSE WILL FALL!!!me: yay! I cant wait until the next one!
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:33 PM
@liza200aa It was a 5.9 out of 10. That could really get you hurt,
liza200aa • 23 August 2011 at 2:39 PM
@bluegirl80it was far away from where we lived. I was on the third floor, it was the strongest there. on the first floor, it was just vibrating. I am still thankfull we moved. if I was in our old house, I'm shure that our neighbors would of fell on us.
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:40 PM
@liza200aa Thats good then.
lily- • 23 August 2011 at 2:48 PM
@bluegirl80Are you alright? Hope you're OK.I know everyone is going to think I'm crazy, but still I can't resist saying this- cool, you really had an earthquake? I've never experienced an earthquake☹️.*pulls herself together*Sorry, I know earthquakes aren't good and I really do hope everyone's OK
Deleted • 23 August 2011 at 2:49 PM
@lily- IM fine and yeah we had one..
whispers • 23 August 2011 at 2:58 PM
@bluegirl80I felt it! It was epic! It made my pool shake XD
liza200aa • 23 August 2011 at 3:02 PM
I just noticed that the only thing that fell was my panda eraser from my collection. funny the way the earthquake was so strong and fun and had so little after-effects. that is most likely one of the reasons why I liked it in the first place. unfortunately, it seems I am the only one in the place who had fun. the rest of the people are crazy right now.
whitefall • 23 August 2011 at 3:07 PM
I've never been in an earthquake. It's be cool, I guess; *ready to be discouraged by tons of users* xD
icymuffin • 23 August 2011 at 3:12 PM
@whitefall*discourages*Though, I'm not too easily shocked so I don't really panick much when there does happen to be an earthquake. xDThey're not too bad 'til you see cracks in the road and glass starts to fall from skyscrapers...I feel bad for the people who where on that one bridge in Oakland when it collapsed from an earthquake. Like, the top road collapsed onto the bottom road on the bridge. Scary stuff D;
