I saw some creature with a star in the top right-hand corner. What's it's purpose?

There is no purpose to em. All it is a star in the corner nothing else.
It makes commons and other critters worth more. You can star em in the cash shop too but if you star a common or cave monthly in the cash shop most people won't offer 1 Mil EC/1ooCC worth for one since they can be gotten in the cave. Common stars usually go around 25,ooo to 5o,oooEC if it is a an egg and mortal while a regular common egg isn't worth anything. Immortal and evolved ones go for a bit more than that x3 Old star LEs or CC critters adds 1ooCC to their value since a star costs 1ooCC in the shop
