Enter the Glade ~Role-Play~

{This RP is based off the Maze Runner book Series, although it only follows the idea of living in the maze, roles, and laws of hte maze. Everything else is of our own imagination. This takes place when a group of teenagers are dropped into the Maze for hte first time. They are the first one's there.}

{Intro}
You awake in a box, everything around you is black, with only a few pale glimpses of light filtering in as the box around you moves upwards.
Towards what? You don't know but you can tell it'll be better than anything in this box.
Around you are people, within reach of yourself you can count at least 2 others, but there may be more.
You try to remember how you got here. Useless you can't remember anything but how to breathe, hunt, names for the basic survival things, animals, and your own name. The first, not the last.
How you got in the box is a mystery, but your questions remain unasked as the box stops moving and suddenly opens up letting peels of sunlight and bird song. You are in a gigantic glade, surrounded by stone walls more than 100 feet up in the air.
There appears to be a set of hammocks strung up on trees nearby enough for the people in the box. There are giant gaps in the walls, one on the east, west, north and south sides all opening into what appears to be a maze.

{Rules}
-Only runners can enter the maze
-Have fun.
-No god-mods or sues
-Keep everything appropriate.
-There has to be a balance of every group of people.
-Character limit capped at 4.
-Keep genders even
-Make at least 2 characters of opposing genders.
-Put one of your fandoms(A show, book series, or movie you follow endlessly) in "Other" on your form.
-Follow the Glade Laws too
-You don't remember your past, at all. If anything there'll be fleeting images of it, but nothing you can place. Don't give your characters a past.
-If you are stung by a griever there's no magic cure-all. Just a cure sent by W.I.C.K.E.D but even then it's iffy. Your charrie can still die.

{Glade Laws}
-Don't kill or maim another Glader.
-Only Runners are allowed in the Maze
-No one is allowed in the Maze at night. The doors close anyways.
-Everyone pitches in, and we all get what we need.

{Roles}
Runners-Those who explore the maze. They leave at dawn and return just before dusk.
Med-jacks-Those who heal all who are sick or "stung"
Harvesters-Those who plant and tend to the garden.
Farmers-Those who take care of farm animals and get the meat for food.
Cooks-Those who prepare meals for everyone.

Ash could here the rattling of metal and the groans of the others around her. She squinted in the dim light trying to see Brad. But it was to dark to see. Slowly the atmosphere changed light started to flash by and the tension eased. She could make out three others looking just as scared and worried as she was.

Alyss looked up as the box lifted up again, bearing two more this time. She glared down at them before moving to help pull them out.

The box had stopped and a bright light emerged from above with the shadow of someone looking down at them. They helped us out and Brad and i sat on some soft grass trying to take in everything.

"You got a name?" Sebastian asked approaching the two Alyss had just pulled out of the box. "Either of you? It might not come to you at first, we actually arrived a few minutes before you guys did."

((Sorry suddenly a hectic few days hit plus a lot of sleeping when I shouldn't be))

Bronte stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the next two arrivals. He would've helped them up, but Alyss had gotten to them first.

"Unfortunately, we're not one hundred percent sure where we are." Bronte told them, but his bright smile made his words sound less unfortunate than they were.

"Well we haven't come up with a name yet," Sebastian said, "But I think when we first got here I heard something about a Glade. Your names will come back to you soon." He added.

Brad stared at everyone blankly looking tired and confused.

Sebastian shrugged, "We showed up here and there are some farm animals plus a garden area, although in with our box lift we had gotten boxes of grain and stuff to plant food for the animals. As for sleeping, there's a few hammocks over there that I guess we should be sleeping on."

Alyss stood during hte conversation before looking Ash in the eyes. "You seem fit to go out the walls." She said suddenly, tilting her head to the side and glancing over the girl. "Yeah, you run well?"

Bronte listened thoughtfully to the conversation, considering the amount of tasks they had ahead of them to set up a living space.

Turning to the tall young man with jet-black hair, meeting his green eyes with his own dark eyes, Bronte remarked, "we've got our work cut out for us, don't we?"

Bronte turned to look as the young man mentioned the box again.

It became lighter at a rapid rate, and suddenly, the light was all around her, a thin veil of comfort. A teenaged girl looked up, trying to shield her eyes from the light, seeing the shapes of a small group of people here. People were good. She didn't like to be alone.

Sebastian leaned down over the box pulling the girl out and setting her on the floor before jumping and and pushing supplies out to the waiting Alyss and Bronte.
"So have you two remembered your names yet?" He asked of the two who had arrived recently, while he shoved a thick wooden crate out and into Alyss arms and the girl carried it off.

Ash got up to help unpack greeting the new comer as she passed.
Brad got up as well saying nothing but acknowledging her. He peered inside the box as someone passed supplies to him. "Uh, where do these go?" he said peeking into the bundle.

Sebastian nodded to Alyss. "Just follow her, we've staked out a spot near the hammocks we found some lumber earlier that we'll use to build a shack and store all this stuff in." He said as he shoved the last thing, a bag that clinked, onto the floor before him and pulled himself out.
He opened the bag, finding vials of a strange liquid inside. He shrugged before carefully carrying it to the site for hte shack.

"Bronte." The young man replied with his name as the other handed him supplies to take back to the hammocks. The name had suddenly come in response, and it almost surprised him. A name was good.

The younger girl stumbled when she stood and picked up what looked like it should have been too much for someone of her size, but she was stronger than expected and carried it reasonably easily to the hammocks.

"Anyone else have a name?" Bronte asked as he began finding a home for the supplies he was holding.

"Nope" Ash replied coming back to see if there was anything else she could do. "Me and brother arrive not to long before you".
There was a bit of a breeze coming on so she pinned up her jacket, the sky also seemed darker. "We should probably prepare some food and get the hammocks ready, looks like it could be dark soon".

"Well, I think I can help with food. I remember something about pancakes and so many different soups." Sebastian said smiling brightly. "You guys can find blankets and such and organize them-" he broke off as a horrendous screeching sound echoed around them.
"What was that?" He practially yelled over the sound.

"The walls!" Alyss shouted running over to them. "They're-Oh sweet stars." She whispered as a gray blob, about the size of a large dog, seeming to consist of metal appendages and blubber, rolled around a corner flopping and squelching towards them. "The walls are closing, but it might be a good thing!" She shouted as the doors sealed shut. She looked seeing that every wall was the same.

The tall girl shouted about the walls around them and ran off. Bronte, being a curious type, ran after her, catching up and keeping pace not far behind. Just before the doors shut, he caught a glimpse of a rather unsettling thing appearing to be both metal and lumpy flesh. He felt relieved the doors had closed, as the girl echoed the sentiment aloud.

"I have to agree with you on that!" Bronte gave her a sidelong glance and a grin. Somehow, he got an itch of curiosity about what was out in there beyond the wall, and he wondered if the doors would ever open again.

Margot had watched a pair run off at an incredible resounding grinding and screeching. The two had run off fast; much faster than she could. She stayed where she was, knowing there was still work to be done here, and they would be back to share their thoughts on the sound soon enough. Margot picked up a hammock and got to work tying one end up, humming something cheery as she waited.

Ash watched the two run off yelling but it was kinda hard to hear them over the doors. Brad was standing just behind her looking slightly worried and tired mixed with a bit of curiosity. As the doors closed we both began setting up are hammocks by a cluster of trees near the others. The breeze was beginning to pick up so Ash grabbed a blanket it was woollen yet not so soft. She grabbed another for Brad. "Hopefully I'll remember my name by tomorrow" she thought to herself.

Alyss smiled back at Bronte, something new to her, but somehow the boy had a strange nature around him.
"Well I want to see what's out there. If those things live there who knows what else lies beyond those walls." She said, thinking out loud more than anything.
"Alyss by the way."

Bronte smiled wider and stuck his hand out in proper greeting.

"I'd certainly come with you, if you'd let me. We'll have to wait and see if the doors open again, eh?" He remarked.

Ash listened in on Bronte and Alyss, they were talking about the wall. What was that thing behind there? Then said loud enough for them to her "I'll come too but I reckon we should take some sort of weapon who knows what that creature is or if there's more".
Brad looked at her shockingly "Did you even see that thing!?" "It didn't even look animal, you seriously aren't thinking of going to it?
"Don't worry live a little for once" Ash said to him
"Yeah right" he mumbled

"Yeah, we'd have to wait. But the more people the better. And they look more like blobs of whales with metal than anything, probably not even dangerous." Alyss said, taking Bronte's hand and shaking it.

Blake groggily opened his eyes, immediately squinting as the bright sunlight burned his retinas. He felt the sensation of being lifted and he blinked a few times before surveying his surroundings. The boy sat up, feeling cold metal against his skin. He seemed to be in some sort of box, empty except for him. The thing he sat perched in pushed up into some kind of... well, glade would be the best word to describe it. He looked around at everyone there cautiously, narrowing his eyes and tensing in a defensive position. Who were these people? Where was he? Or a better question was /who/ was he?

Alyss looked away as the box arrived, for the third time this day, the sun was falling away as she made her way over to the box and found three people inside of it this time.
Two boys and one girl. She reached down and hauled them out.

Daren pulled herself out of the box by help of the tall blond girl and looked around. "So where are we?" She asked, as the last person was pulled from the box and it sank back into the ground.

Bronte laughed, "I don't want to discount danger yet. Assuming a lack of danger is probably the worst thing any of us can do. But we'll go if it opens in the morning. I look forward to it."

The young girl finished with her hammock just as the box made it's return. Her bright smile appeared for the first time since arriving when she laid eyes on more people. It would likely not get too lonely, now, which made her happy.

"Hi!" She exclaimed, "I'm Margot! Are you all right?" She looked to the three people arriving. "oh!"

Margot paused in the realization that she had recalled her name quite suddenly. It was a good feeling.

Blake stepped cautiously out of the box, looking around at all the people. "Oh yeah, aside from the fact that I have no idea where I am and I can't remember /who/ I am, I'm just great," he replied sarcastically. Dusting himself off he took a few tentative steps around, his gaze skimming the mini civilization here.
