Hirla morphed. A Pair of huge, brownish-golden wings unfolded from her back and she stretched them out. She was proud of her wings, they had saved her life many times before. She stayed in her half griffin-human form and walked over to where Flame was standing.

"I'm still a bit new here, but you guys seem quite nice. I don't know many of you, but I know you're not in league with the necromancers. What are your names?"

"We have to go. Now!" Said Snow. "Humans." Said Flame. "Hunters, to be exact." Said Blizzard. Roxy lifted Blaze onto her back and River offered to help Hirla. By now, they could all hear the hunters voices.

I put my hands at my waist, over my guns, and checked to make sure my sword was strapped to my back. After my preparations, I nodded agreement, and looked at Hirla for confirmation.

Shane took a dagger in hand and put a finger to his lips, although no sound was heard but the voices.
"I think they came here Jill!" said a voice. Cascade frowned and silently ran in the opposite direction of the voices.

This time, Hirla shapeshifted to her 100% human form. It would be slightly safer for her this way, if the hunters did not know she was a griffin.

Cascade looked up at Drago and awkwardly climbed on his back, Shane on her heels.
"I go find this "Monster", as you call it." River shifted and before anybody could stop her, flew away in the direction of the howl.

There was a chilling howl drifting through the shadowy trees, making Hirla's hair stand on end. She gripped at Flame's arm, looking afraid.

"That wasn't humans..." she breathed.

As a cold wind began to blow, shadows whipped wraithlike through the still trees. Letting go of Flame's arm, Hirla felt feathers sprouting from her skin and her nails lengthening into claws. A pair of great, brown wings folded out from her back, and she stood her ground on all fours.

Maniac laughter floated eerily through the forest, followed by cracking sticks and heavy footfalls. Hirla gasped in horror, as SOMETHING galloped into a clearing many meters away. She backed away, a growl rising in her throat and her hackles raised.

A goblin mounted upon a skeletal stallion. The stallion's empty eyes stared sightlessly at the group as it snorted and pawed the ground with a bony hoof. The goblin's eyes burnt like the fiery red coals of h*ll, it's sickly green skin scarcely covering the work of muscle and arteries beneath. It's body was livid with the hue of death, yet it seemed alive and breathing at the same time. It smiled horribly, it's claw sliding into the folds of it's dirty, tattered cloak and came out gripping a twisted, black horn.

It raised the horn to a set of horribly malformed lips and blew.

A sound like the roar of an erupting volcano blasted through the silent forest, and almost instantly thirty other goblins astride their own skeletal stallions burst out of the densely packed trees, each bristling with spiked armour and armed to the teeth. They each had crossbows pointed at the companion's hearts.

Cascade looked terrified. Shane grabbed one of his daggers and threw it at the goblin's chest, making him fall off his horse.
"RUN!!!" he ordered.

Hirla raised her wings and pushed against the ground, feeling herself lift clear of the ground. She would have followed Draco if a goblin hadn't shot her in the wing with it's crossbow. Trailing blood and shrieking in agony, she crashed heavily to the ground and lay in a crumpled heap of feathers.

I looked back worriedly, and my eyes widened in shock. Hirla was laying on the ground, blood streaming from her wings. I growled, and rising into the sky, grabbed Hirla in my claws.

Snow picked up Blaze and started digging. He was a surprisingly quick digger. Blizzard and Flame digged either side of them. Blizzard was the quickest digger. Flame was the slowest. A goblin grabbed Flame's leg and made him yelp in pain. This seemed to give Blaze strength, because she tore herself out of Snow's grip and tackled the goblin, biting and scratching, attacking like nobody had seen before. This was in eyeline of everyone else. "NOBODY HURTS MY FAMILY!!!" She yelled.
