Suddenly, it started snowing violently.
"Snow? But were in summer!" Cascade remarked. River crashed into the clearing and breathed ice on the goblins, freezing them all in a giant ice cube.
"Nobody hurts my friends." she said in almost a whisper.

Suddenly the goblin hit Blaze on the head. She was unconscious. Snow picked her up and started digging again. This time, nearly faster than Blizzard.

Hirla shrank back to her human form, blood pumping from her shoulder. She drew out her weapon and slashed the throat of three goblins close to her. As they fell of their skeleton horses, the horses reared up and tried to beat her down with their bony hooves. Hirla ducked and rolled out of the way, jabbing the blade of her sword into the side of the nearest horse.

Hirla nodded, rubbing her shoulder where the goblins had shot her. She had pulled out the arrow, but it was still a bit bloody. When she took away her hand, it was smeared with red.

"Anyone else needs to be healed?" she asked, ignoring her on injuries.

"Blaze needs help" Said Flame. He winced in pain as he ran over to Cascade. "Snow... I've remembered what attacked our pack." Snow looked startled. "It was hunters... right?" Flame shook his head. "It was the Necro-whatevers. They hurt my head pretty bad... Otherwise I woulda toldja sooner. The last thing the leader said was.... "We will target any survivors"... I think..."

"Hmm... Cascade? River? Should I call "him"?" he asked. Cascade and River looked at him in a startled way.
"I..I don't think you-" but before anyone could stop him, he raised his horn to his lips and blew hard three times.

"Thanks," Hirla thanked Cascade for healing her shoulder. With a sense of awe, she ran a finger over the smooth, flawless skin of her freshly healed shoulder before gazing thankfully at her friend.

Suddenly, at least 20 men with swords and bow and arrows crept out of the woods and surrounded them.
"Don't move." warned Shane, his voice amazingly calm. To everyone's surprise, when the men saw Shane they bowed.
"Thank you for coming, friends, now please stand up." The men all stood up, respect in their faces.
"Please take me and my friends to a safe place, away from the hunters." The men, nodding, gestured the group to follow them in the woods.

I sighed heavily as Shane took lead, not for the first time, and followed the men into the woods. As I approached them, I shifted into human.

Roxy woke up from what she thought was a sleep. She didn't remember the attack. "Hey everyone, we need to get going, rig-" She tried to move her arms and legs, but each were chained to a wall. "Hey! What's going on? Where am I?" Something in the dark chuckled. "We told you we would target any survivors." said the Something. "You're a... A necromancer!" "That's right. And you're not going anywhere."

"Roxy?" Said Ocean, suddenly being distracted from the fight she was in. The goblin she was fighting hit her in the face. She scratched it and it shrieked. "Hey, can't you see we're in the middle of panicking here? We're missing someone! Geez, goblins of today!"


Roxy flapped her wings. Maybe, if she flew fast enough, she could break the chains. But her wings wouldn't carry her. "What?" Then she noticed something. Her wings were soaked through. "Huh?!?!?" "You thought I didn't know?" said the necromancer. "Y-you won't get away with this! My friends will be here any minute now, you'll see!" The necromancer laughed in the shadows. "And then I'll have them right where I want them." Roxy's eyes widened.


Snow put his nose to the ground, trying to pick up the scent. "What if they wet her wings? She can't fly if her wings are wet...." "And I wouldn't be able to pick up the scent..." realised Snow. "It would have been washed away." He desperately started looking for tracks. "Nothing. No trace that anything had been here." He dug underground. "No tunnel either! The only other way would be... flying. There's no way to track them!" Snow was frantic. It was obvious he didn't want to lose anyone else. He'd been through enough.

"Calm down. Panicking won't help Roxy." he spoke in unpected calm voice, as if nothing happened.
"Cascade, could you track her? With your powers?" Cascade looked thoughtful and then nodded.
"Yes, I could. If we have something of hers. Like a feather for example." she shrugged off the men who were helping her walk and healed her leg under their surprised glares.

"My friends will figure out your traps in an instant. They'll be too smart to fall into them." Said Roxy. "Ah. But you see, when it comes to family, they don't exactly stay calm, now do they?" Roxy realised that whoever was part of Snow's pack would panic. "But Cascade, Hirla, Shane and Drago will be able to keep them together. They'll come bursting in here untouched, just you wait and see!"


Snow was still desperately trying to pick up Roxy's scent. "Shane's right you know. If we panic, we're more likely to make things worse." Said Blizzard. "Who said I was panicking?" Snow replied. "Nobody did." Said Ocean. For what seemed like the first time to Blizzard, Snow had no idea what to do. This made Blizzard worried.

"Roxy?" Hirla called, squinting into the darkness. A sudden wave of fear washed over her, but was gone in a second. She was suddenly afraid that something terrible had happened. There was a reason the necromancers wanted her dead, there was a reason why they hated her.
"Roxy? Roxy, are you there?"

A horrible bloody flashback formed in the back of her head. Her past, to be forgotten.
