*The Winged*A mutation has occurred within humans which grant them the ability to fly. People have changed and grown wings. There are four different species of humans now:Type 1: An ordinary human, arms, legs intact - people as we know today. They cannot fly.Type 2: Humans with wings instead of arms. They cannot pick up objects because of their lack of fingers. They can fly.Type 3: Humans with wings attached to their arms. They have normal arms but there are wings sprouting from underneath their arms. They cannot fly and hold items at the same time, but can fly.Type 4: Humans with wings and arms separately - like an angel. They have six limbs (wings, arms, legs). They are considered the most advanced species compared to the rest and can fly. There is a lot of discrimination and prejudice between species. Type 4's like to flaunt their abilities to other species while type 1's are usually isolated from others due to their lack of flight. Type 2's are at a severe disadvantage since they cannot pick up and hold items.

INTRO"Look what they're doing!" Odilia protested, raising her voice. She pushed back her blonde hair before turning towards Vladan. "They're taking us away! Experimenting on us! Killing us!" Odilia shook her head in disbelief. "They're removing our wings, Vladan." Her blue eyes gazed into Vladan's emotionless, grey ones."Tch." The chuckle that left Vladan's mouth left Odilia speechless. "I see how it is now." He stared down at his finger-less, winged arms with a bitterness only Type 2s could ever know. "Before this, you Type 4s wanted nothing to do with us because we were 'filthy mongrels'." He shook his head, his black hair falling into his face and covering his eyes. "It's a little late for that, isn't it?" Vladan's lips tilted up into a cruel smirk."What?" Odilia said as she backed away from Vladan's threatening form. The 3 of her species that she had brought along with her prepped their wings uncomfortably as an air of danger surrounded the small group. Suddenly, humans pounced on them from beneath the underbrush. Odilia's wings flared and she flapped them desperately in an attempt to escape. She was now airborne. "How could you?" She gasped, tears threatening to spill from her emerald-orange eyes as a net caught on one of her legs and dragged her to the ground. Her hands ripped at the net and she caught eye of Linus. He was being abused by the humans. They were dragging him by the wings away, ignoring his cries of pain. Her eyes burned with anger as she glared up at Vladan."You really are a filthy mongrel." She spat out. "Your type never changes. I'd like to personally rip out your wings." He said with a chuckle as he knelt down besides Odilia."If you had fingers!" Odilia insulted as the humans began to drag her away."What did you just say?" He replied threateningly. Promptly, the Type 1s dragging the 4s away began scrambling around. "One of them is getting away!" They cried, staring uselessly as the one escapee flew away."We've still got 3 of you." Vladan said arrogantly as he stared down at Odilia. "One gone makes no difference.""You're a monster." She whispered, wings covered in dirt and glued with fallen leaves and snapped twigs."Shut up!" Vladan shouted as he kicked Odilia in the side. Feathers flew off of the fallen angel's wings. She closed her blue eyes as she took the abuse from Vladan. This wasn't going to be the end. The Type3s were on their side ....

"Sir, are you alright?"Alis turned to the guard flying at his side. He knew he was probably paler than usual. He was concerned about his sister. She was supposed to be back at the Tower days ago, and no word from her or her companions had reached them. At first he had hoped that they had simply been delayed by the negotiations... Ones were notoriously stubborn, and he doubted they'd give in easily."I'm fine, Samson..." he lied unconvincingly. The guard turned and faced forward, watching the skies for twos. Alis couldn't help but feel small next to the two guards flanking him. Granted, they were highly trained warrior and he was a mere politician, but still..."Perhaps we should land here and walk the rest of the way." Alis suggested. "It would be bad manners to fly in when the ones... Well I don't think we should antagonize them if we don't have to... right?"Samson gave him a sideways look, clearly not on the same page, but knowing better than to question a superior, he angled his wings into a dive. Alis sighed as he dropped. He knew the others resented him. He really couldn't blame them. He wasn't Odilia. As he dropped, he could see the other guards... a trio of threes... following Samson's example. He looked back just in time to adjust his wings to avoid a collision with a tree. He could hope all he wanted that the others didn't notice, but he knew they had. This was gonna be a long day.

@dada_dragon~Vladan stared at the stack of papers in front of him in mild annoyance. How was he supposed to do these, put them together, then turn them in? Who did these people think he was? Their personal assistant? He hated paperwork. He stood and headed out the (open) door. His posture resembled those of a confident individual as he strode down the hall, his stormy eyes skipping over every single Type 2 until they fell upon a regular Type 1 human. "You." he addressed. "Would you mind doing something for me?" The girl looked up at Vladan and nodded silently. His question had been spoken like a command, and she was afraid of what would happen if she said no. Rumor has it that Vladan once had several of his gang members murder Type 1s for his own amusement.---Odilia kept to herself in the tiny corner of the large space she was kept in. Her eyes were wide, pupils were small. She was afraid, lost, and confused at the fact that there was nothing to do, nothing SHE could do about their current situation. At a loss of words, the once-proud leader put her head down in shame, her wings curling around her like a feathery wall. Odilia had never felt this helpless and out of control her entire life.---Adler had never been this close to the ground before. And his resentment had been overcome by his weary body. His left cheek lay against the damp soil, and he could feel tiny pebbles digging into his high cheekbones. "Mmm." he mumbled as he closed his eyes. Maybe the dirt wouldn't be so bad after all. It was soft and smooth. Adler's hands clawed around on the ground and he shook his head. He had to somehow get back to the others ... Where were they again? The others? Who were the others? The corners of his lips tilted up into a dazed smile. He used his hands to crawl forward for a bit more before collapsing on his face again. His fingertips dug into the soil once more, but the earth was loose and simply fell apart in his grasp. Adler shivered as a gust of wind rustled the leaves of the trees around him. His clothing had been torn apart in his struggle to escape and his shirt was nothing but a a few tattered pieces of cloth caught on his wings. He rolled over onto his back and tried to wrap his wings around himself, but found it a struggle to even move them. "When did you guys get so heavy?" he murmured as he opened his eyes into slits. His lips parted into a tiny 'o' when he spotted them. Bits of torn rope from the nets and pieces of leaves clung to the feathers. At least a pound of dirt had probably stuck onto his mocha-colored feathers. Adler's eyes widened a bit as he reached towards his left wing. He struggled to sit up but his arms simply weren't long enough in the fetal position he was currently laying in."That's not very healthy" he whispered to himself in complete bewilderment at the sight of a butterfly knife caught in the midst of his wing feathers. Adler let his eyes close once again, embracing the feel of the moist soil against his face. He was exhausted.

"Sir! Over here!"Alis turned to see one of the guards pointing at something behind a bush. Alis walked around and was shocked to see a four curled up, wounded and filthy."Someone get him some water." He ordered, flipping him onto his back. He was shocked to see it was... "Adler..."One of the guards produced a bottle of water and Alis held it up to Adler's mouth. He seemed conscious, but just barely."Adler... What happened?"

@dada_dragon [I say mouth-feed Adler. 😉]~Adler could vaguely hear the flap of wings through his almost completely unconscious mind. He contemplated opening his eyes to observe what it was, but his eyelids were simply way too heavy. He heard footsteps, and squeezed his eyes shut even tighter. Adler was afraid. Could it be the hunters coming back to get him? In the back of his mind, he wished that he could have done something to save Odilia. She was a much more prominent figure then him, and....He felt something cold touch his lips and he parted them to feel some water trickle into his mouth. The cool liquid eased his parched throat and he sputtered when he forgot to swallow. His eyes shot open and he stared up into the face of Alis. Adler reached up with a weak hand towards Alis's wrist."You... can't go." He forced himself to say. "They took away the others." His voice was quiet and weak, and in the back of Adler's mind, he was afraid of how timid he sounded. "The humans and twos..." He licked his lips before continuing. "Are very dangerous."--Odilia could almost feel a tear slipping out of the corner of her eyes at the taunting she received from the woman speaking through the speakers. A small voice told her that the woman was right. She really was being pathetic right now. There was nothing she could do... Nothing at all. A spark of anger ignited in her heart and she narrowed her eyes.Maybe there was something she could do. There had to be something. Odilia decided that she would continue her silence until night fell.--Vladan prowled on the sofa in the room he currently resided. Occasionally, he would glance over to the human as she asked for answers. "Yes, put that down." he said. It took awhile, around an hour or so, but they had managed to complete everything. He was still pretty tired after the entire fiasco the morning before.
dada_dragon • 8 June 2015 at 7:05 PM
Alis sighed. He had assumed as much, but he didn't want to believe it. Odilia..."What are they doing with them, Adler? Did you guys find out?" he asked. One of the guards wrapped up Adler's injured wing, extracting a knife from it."He won't be able to fly, sir." the guard said. "He'll have to be carried back to the Tower for further treatment. What are your orders?"He was asking if they should abandon the mission. Alis contemplated it for a moment, but he quickly tossed that idea aside."Two of you will take Adler back to the Tower. The rest will stay with me. Preferably the strongest." he said. "If Odilia and the others are in there, we have to help them. We will first try diplomacy. If that fails, we will need to use force to...""With all due respect, sir." spat one of the older guards."Diplomacy isn't an option anymore. Look where it got the others."There were general noises of agreement among the guards. Alis didn't want to fight unless it was necessary, but maybe they were right..."Very well."

@dada_dragon~Adler grit his teeth and shook his head in distress. It took him a little bit longer than a while but he eventually forced the words out. He had remembered the conversation so clearly, despite his muddled mind. "They're removing our wings." Disgust overtook his exhaustion and he forced himself up using his elbow. He winced in pain as a familiar face removed the weapon from his dirty wings. Although he was well aware that it was not his fault, he still felt a pang of embarrassment and guilt at having to be such a burden on Alis and the others. However, he hid these emotions by throwing a apologetic half smile and a eyebrow wiggle at one of the guards. "I hope I haven't gained any weight since the last banquet we had." he whispered to one of them. His sly smile quickly flatlined as the conversation took a more serious turn. "I agree." he inputed. "Odilia had attempted diplomacy and all they did was ambush us." Adler let out a breath of relief at Alis's agreement. He usually wasn't.... He just...He wasn't Odilia.--Vladan grunted from where he was lounging on the furniture at the security officer's words. He muttered something under his breath about how Marina always wanted him to do everything, before standing up. "Will do." He replied. Vladan gestured with his wings at the young woman he had forced to do his paperwork in a move that suggested that she should leave, before turning back to the officer. Once she was gone, he spoke. "How many are there? It's possible they're here to retrieve..." He paused as he contemplated the right way to refer to that one four, before simply deciding on her name. "Odilia.""I doubt they're coming to discuss the situation, considering how some of your useless soldiers let one of them get away, resulting in a possible warning."--Albeit a bit hesitantly, Odilia moved her gaze from the ground to a sideways glance at her wings. Perhaps she should make herself a bit more presentable at least. Though she could do nothing about the dirt and grime littering her clothes and skin, she could at least pull the twigs and leaves from her wings. Odilia couldn't hide her hopeful glance up at the thought of being rescued though she winced at the fact of troubling her people in such a way.
dada_dragon • 10 June 2015 at 11:34 PM
Alis nodded in reluctant agreement with Adler. He had a nagging feeling that a more aggressive approach was a bad idea... It was just a research facility, but from what his sister had said, the leaders of the ones and twos... Marina and the infamous Vladan... were there, and that meant higher security."Even if we are to be more aggressive, we should exercise caution. We know almost nothing of this place." he said, trying to sound like he actually believed in this plan. "And Vladan is there, so don't underestimate them."There was a visible level of discomfort in the group. They had heard the stories..."Adler, inform the others back at the tower... they need to be ready to launch an attack if we do not return." he said. "Tell them to give us two days. If we do not return or contact you before then... Assume the worst. If that is to happen... I place you in charge. You will likely be unable to fight with your wing damaged like that, but you can make the important decisions. If you feel you are not well enough at that time, I trust your judgement in assigning a suitable replacement."
bunnyshadow • 11 June 2015 at 2:06 PM
@dada_dragon~Adler gave Alis a sideways glance. He seemed about to agree, but decided to voice his opinion. "Wouldn't it be better if you came back with us, reason being that you are the second most prominent figure excluding Odilia?" It was already bad enough that he lost Odilia, and now Alis was to be endangered too. Adler could sense an aura of uneasiness from the group at the mention of Vladan. He had had first hand experience with the monster, and every single rumor had been proven true. The man was clever and brutal, dexterous and ruthless. Vladan was a double-edged sword that sharpened himself by opening more scars on his enemies. "He's incredibly intelligent." Adler said. "We have to be extremely careful."--"Eight..." Vladan said wondrously. "Prepare yourselves. We'll send 2 dozen soldiers their way. Have the first 12 be type ones that will face them head on..." His mind had formed a plan in nothing more then a few seconds. "Once they are distracted by them, we can have my own people ambush them from behind. I'll have my forces knock them from the air into your traps and tranquilizers.""When they first catch sight of you 12, they will most likely try to talk it out. They know we have Odilia hostage, and they wouldn't try anything too rash." Vladan tilted his head to the side and cracked his neck in anticipation for the fight to come. His lips tilted up into a smirk. Oh how much he loved brutalizing the Fours."If they are alert of their surroundings, they may wonder why we only have foot soldiers intercept them from our facility. But if they're smart, they will believe that we only sent them because of the fact that Twos are too harbored with bitterness of their bodily structure to be able to fight as a soldier."
dada_dragon • 13 June 2015 at 10:11 PM
Alis nodded."You're right, Adler... I will return with you and convene with Odilia's advisers to determine our course of action." he said. He avoided eye contact with the others. He didn't want them to think that he was chickening out, but Adler was right. There was no sense losing both of their leaders. "Samson, you are in charge of this operation. Please focus your efforts on gathering intelligence rather than a full-on attack. I will send reinforcements."He reluctantly spread his wings and took off, the two fours carrying Adler close behind."Keep near the treetops so we can get into the trees if we have to escape."
bunnyshadow • 14 June 2015 at 6:16 PM
@dada_dragon~Vladan made his way towards the entrance, anticipation for the fight ahead brewing in his bones. Although he had to admit he may have summoned more soldiers than needed, there was no reason for them to stay behind anyway. Usually they did nothing but wander the halls under false belief that they had to protect the building from something. As he made his way outside, he gave a short nod towards the group of earth-bound troops."Let's go." He gestured towards the trees, signalling for his own small formation of a cavalry. "We're going to have to be quiet and quick, until the fours get in touch with our other soldiers.""Once that has happened, we can break out stealth and ambush them."
dada_dragon • 20 June 2015 at 3:29 AM
Alis stayed close to the trees, letting his ankles brush the leaves on the topmost branches. Ahead of him were two of the type four guard, carrying Adler. He used to like flying, back when he only did it for fun..."If we're attacked, make sure you get below the trees, no matter what. Keep Adler safe. If we get separated, meet back at the tower." he said.
bunnyshadow • 14 October 2015 at 2:29 PM
@dada_dragon~~Vladan ignored the fact that it must have been a huge waste to have 24 soldiers hunt down just a meager group of 8, but never-the-less he continued as planned. He was never one to admit his wrongs, no matter the price. However, the greater the cost, the greater the reward. He embraced the darkness of the foliage, the shadowy forest providing him safe haven from the last rays of sunlight streaking through the treetops. As expected, they made a crescent shaped journey, heading a sloping path before curving around and pressing back. It wasn’t long before his fighting force had trailed behind Samson and his group. They strayed further away, taking advantage of the high branches in trees and the dense undergrowth. As their movements stilled, they could hear the conversation through hushed whispers in the wind.“We were sent to check up on Miss Odilia, our leader. She came to your base to negotiate, but never returned.” Vladan chuckled to himself as he fluffed up his feathers in preparation to the upcoming battle.--The human faltered at the four’s smooth reply. Not only that, the numbers were definitely not adding up. He could have sworn that Vladan had said that there were 8 coming their way. His eyes glanced a bit to the right then back onto the figure of the one who seemed to be in command of the crew. “Er. . .” He hoped that Vladan would arrive soon, and his prayers were answered with a quick glance to the treetops in the distance. “Currently she resides back at our headquarters, enjoying a meal and her stay for the time being. Miss Marina offered a place for her to stay for a few days after all the work she had put into this journey.” The soldier had no idea what negotiations were happening, and was already lost in the conversation that had just started. “And for her negotiations, of course. Which went by rather smoothly.”
dada_dragon • 14 October 2015 at 6:00 PM
The type 1 seemed uneasy. This seemed to be too few troops, and not nearly hostile as he would have expected. Something was definitely out of place. His wings flared slightly, but he kept an even tone."Very well." he said, playing along, but staying on alert. "Although I would still like to speak with her about some recent developments that have come up in her absence... and if you don't mind, I'm very interested to know the terms of the negotiations. Surely you have some insights into that sort of thing..."He watched his face for any sign, any hint of what their plan might be. The one's eye's darted to the treetops. It was a brief glance, barely even a second, but it was enough to tell Samson where the real danger was."IN THE SKY!" he yelled, whipping around to see a squadron of type 2s in the distance. He and the others drew their weapons, prepared for a conflict.
bunnyshadow • 15 October 2015 at 4:19 PM
@dada_dragon ~~And at that moment, Vladan pounced onto Samson. His mouth opened into a feral snarl as he growled ferociously to urge on his attacking crew. However, he had lost his most important strategy in every single battle-- Surprise. Having been burdened with no ability to hold weapons, he had to rely on the brute strength from the marginal coverts of his wings. Vladan made a move at Samson, swinging the curve of his onyx wings in an uppercut at his opponent’s face.“Fight me, imbecile!” --Odilia paced in her cell, biting her bottom lip fleetingly. She’d heard the sound of guards arming themselves and shouting orders as they prepared to fight. Odilia all but prayed that her people would not befall the same fate as her. Embarrassed, trapped and scared. With no doubt, she knew that eventually she would be freed. If her next fleet were to be captured, for sure the next troop that came would be able to break them free.However. . . If they were to wait for the next group to come and check up on them, who knew how far Marina and Vladan’s experiments would have gone?
dada_dragon • 21 October 2015 at 2:10 AM
Samson raised one arm to block the blow, retaliating with the other, aiming his blow for the wing joint where it met his shoulder. He kept alert in case the type 1s decided to join the fray. He had to keep the fight as close as possible so that they wouldn't use their weapons for fear of hitting Vladan...The others had likewise clashed with the enemy, with most of them exchanging blows at ground level and one of the type 3s flying up into the air, exchanging midair kicks with two type 2s.This didn't look good for them.
bunnyshadow • 21 October 2015 at 12:37 PM
@dada_dragon~~Vladan sidestepped the punch by a nothing more but a hair, before swinging his right wing around at Samson’s face. “Is that all you’ve got?” Vladan hissed, venom flowing freely from his words. His stormy eyes glinted angrily as he surveyed the fight from his position. The corner of his lips tilted up in a smirk when the realization that the fight was on their side reached his mind. Confident in his crew, he turned back to the leading type 4 once again.--“Thank you.” Adler mumbled towards Alis. “I don’t know what would have happened if you never found me.”
dada_dragon • 21 October 2015 at 8:33 PM
Samson saw his chance as Vladan looked away for a split second. Ducking under Vladan's wing, he aimed a powerful punch at his side.
bunnyshadow • 26 October 2015 at 1:27 PM
@dada_dragon~~Vladan let out a short cry as he was knocked back , having taken the brunt of the blow. He took several steps back to regain his breath, bending over slightly. “You…” He flared his wings in anger as he charged Samson once again. Blinded by anger, he ignored the growing fear of losing this duel. The four had many advantages, and Vladan… He had none. Sooner or later, he would have to either flee or block any incoming blows with just his wings.--“Hey…” Adler said. “Think about what you say, will you please? He’s still… Learning.” He gazed at Alis’s with his misty-teal colored eyes. Even though he was still a-ways from Alis, he could still vaguely sense the hurt he must have felt at that statement.“However…” Adler trailed off. “I think you should go check up on the others now. They may need some help. We weren’t fairly far from their headquarters, if the others aren’t careful, they might get caught. That is-- if they haven’t been encountered already.”He attempted to force himself up on his elbow, before wincing and laying back down. “It’s better to go now, and hurry too. Time is of the essence, they do not stall when it comes to their…. experiments."
