turn off notifications

a long time ago, i googled this topic and found a thread for it (that had been made in 2012 i believe) but i can't find it anymore, so apologies if it's inappropriate to make a new topic.

long story short: there needs to be a way to turn off notifications, or to opt out of certain ones.

i'm a very casual eggcave player and there is nothing more irritating than getting notifications for every little thing, that i then have to manually close or they won't go away.

examples: i don't care about my star creature's stats, i don't want the site telling me i have a cave grab, i don't care if someone fed my creatures, i don't want to see a 'thank you for signing in' notif every day, etc.

i do however care if someone posts on my wall, sends me a pm, if an auction fails or succeeds, etc. so i'd like to be able to continue receiving notifs for those things.

i would accept a compromise however: once the notifs on the side of the screen fade out, as they do, they don't come back every single page load until you click on the X buttons. there is a notifications button on the sidebar for a reason; if you missed some you can click on that to review them. there is no reason to have them linger constantly.

this is the biggest source of annoyance i have playing this game. forgive me if i sound overly blunt.

It annoys me even more that unclicked notifs are now the world's most painful shade of yellow, with bonus white text, but yeah ☹️

i agree because when i am busy feeding creatures i just see a unneeded notivacation and when it dosent go away i aways get distracted it is so anoying

Overall, I think we need to have more customization options to better personalize our accounts and keep the small annoyances away. Improving egg cave to be a fully enjoyable experience. I think the different shades and different areas where green is used is very much an eyesore to me. The site theme really is quite bland now with more lingering shades of green ..

It wasn't so bad when you could click close all, but it was still annoying. As glad as I am for getting a bit of EC every time I log in, I don't need to see the notification for it (just an example). It would certainly be nice to have the choice on what we want to be notified about. Support, though I would much prefer the ability to select which types of notifications I receive over only having the option for all or none.

I will agree there should be an option for turning off notifications. I find it annoying to see them automatically pop up and appear on every tab I have loaded when feeding creatures. Also, they sometimes need to be clicked off a second time in another page to finally make them stop.

+1 for this, it's annoying to log into my sides and see like 30 notifications, and they're literally ALL for star creatures, which is incredibly annoying.

This option should be available to opt out of certain notifications and still receive what people perceive to be the important ones.

I agree we should be able to opt out of certain notifications. For example the star creature ones, or the so-and-so fed my creatures.
