Anyone in the sonic the hedgehog fandom?

Ever since the sonic boom games have been released Sega has been getting some hate lately, and I wanna know how many people here still like sonic. I kinda feel alone right now.....

I used to be obsessed with Sonic three or so years ago (Fanart, fanfiction, involved in the fanbase, watching Sonic-X all the time, daydreaming about adventures...yeah I was weird), I still like it now. Just, the new games aren't my kind of thing, and by that I do just mean Sonic Boom.

I'm not a person who hates on modern games, claiming that classics are the 'real games' and everything else is just ruining that good ol' charm- I honestly think something gets boring quickly if it isn't remixed- in a way- every now and then...but Boom is just too strange.

But yeah, I still love pretty much every aspect of the fanbase outside of how crazy everyone is XD I was so happy to see an 8-year-old kid just last week wearing a Sonic and Shadow t-shirt the way they were probably 6 or more years ago.

Glad you still like it. I'm fond of boom, though I honestly hate the fanbase, it kinda ruined sonic for some people. I havent played any games lately. And I look at fanart and read fanficts every now and then. But yea I still like it, I just try to sty away from the fanbase. (In my opinion its a wreck!)

Maybe I need to check up on the fanbase a bit more- I think maybe I am missing a lot of the annoying people as I don't delve much further than the fan-created content outside of fan characters and self inserts- because if there is one aspect of the community that I can say I don't like it is those recolours ("Original!" "Do not steal!") XD

I have seen a few videos showcasing how the Sonic fanbase can be terrible and inconsiderate of other opinions (I Hate Everything's comment comeback shows, actually, quite mild responses compared to others). But, as with most things, these seems like a very noisy, young minority ruining it for the other fans. Unfortunately, that is how most things seem to go.

Zero Escape is the only fandom I have yet found that isn't toxic somewhere (Including 'those kind of fanworks', if you get what I mean).

For the face of Sega to receive so much hate is upsetting and for a business... problematic. The next game they release has to be utterly perfect. Which means no more Sonic and Sega All Star Racing (which isn't too bad) and definitely no more of those stupid Olympic games.

I own a few of the games on computer and when my friend found out he literally stole my computer for a few hours and played Sonic. I also have a collection disc for the PS2 which he fawned over.

I actually bought a classic Sonic t-shirt last week, in all my years playing Sonic games it was my first piece of Sonic merchandise outside of the games themselves.

Olympic Games was good for a party game for a few minutes...but that's about it. It was just a game for a game's sake, to me. I would much rather have an enhanced (ie. bug fixed + updated) version of Sonic Heroes for PS3/4 or a classics collection or two on said consoles than another Olympic Games and other spin-offs.

In this fandom, I'm sure you know, you have to make do with what you have, haha. Maybe you can stretch those few minutes of fun into a few years?

Sonic games teach important life lessons; one must adapt to microgames if they wish to hold on long enough until the next release of fun for the whole family!

Not when I don't invite packs of friends over to play and my family hate these kind of games 😋 The replayability is 0 for me; no real plot, no character development, no challenge (And I mean from the NPCs) or places to really explore...and those are what I look for in games. I understand why someone else might like it, but I really don't.

I think a much better move would be to take what is already made and tweak it a bit. Old fans would pay to play the game they loved as kids in HD, the new fans would get a taste of the old days in their own environment (New consoles) without shelling out for an old console and games, and maybe they would relearn how to make games how most fans seem to like 'em in the process 😋 (Not saying all fans prefer them that way)

...Sonic Colours was good, though. Wasn't that 2012? Not that long ago, really. (EDIT: It was actually 2010)

Anyone remember playing Shadow the Hedgehog for PS2? XD

Never played Shadow the Hedgehog for PS2, but definitely played it on GameCube. It's one of my favorite games. I miss Shadow....

I know my brother agrees with your sentiments on Sonic Colors. I myself did not play it, but I like it as well, except for (most of) the cutscenes. I spent 3 hours at a water park listening to Aquarium Park acts, haha.

The day will come when you will play the Sonic game of your desires. That time will come even sooner...if you make the game yourself. But do you embody the essence of True Sonic Spirit?

I thought the focus was the games. But I LOVE the shows!!!

My favorite is Adventures of, and I like Underground too. SatAM is cool too, and I haven't watched all of X but I also like that cartoon. Have you seen the OVA as well? I feel like I'm missing something....Commercials...
