The Wish Contract

Himeko was in her room, fast asleep. She did not see, but a fox was behind her curtains, looking at Himeko with interested eyes.

HiddenHeart stayed up curled in a tree hole after someone chasing her all the way into the forest. A fox was looking at her. HiddenHeart kept quiet and only said "Hello." She didn't show any sign of emotion right now because it was a stranger.

Himeko woke up and saw an orange fox. She looked at it. The fox looked back at her. It suddenly offered a contract.

Chris:
"Hi. My name is Chris. I'm here to sign contracts with teenage Pokemon."

Himeko backed away.

Himeko:
"What is this contract about? I will not sign something I do not know of!"

Chris smiled.

Chris:
"Have you ever had a desire that stays in your heart for a really long time?"

Himeko:
"I guess."

Chris:
"Well...this contract, you might like it, you might not."

Himeko:
"Tell me more."

Chris:
"OK. I have power to grant Pokemon a single wish. Anything they desire."

Himeko:
"OK, I'm totally for it!"

Chris:
"In exchange, you must battle with entities called Despair. They are born from curses, just like a contracted Pokemon is born from wishes. Once you die, you will become Despair yourself. All who sign this contract meet the same fate."

Himeko:
"I'll think about it."

Chris:
"Alright then."

He disappeared, leaving Himeko to ponder over the contract.

"Hello my name is, Chris. I am here for contacts with teenage pokemons." The fox said to HiddenHeart.

"What do you mean by that?" HiddenHeart asked the fox suspiciously.

"I grant you one wish in one condition and the wish can be anything you want. If I grant you a wish, you must battle with entities called Despair. They are born from curses, just like a contracted Pokemon is born from wishes. Once you die, you will become Despair yourself. That's pretty much it." Chris told HiddenHeart.

"I think I'm going to decide whether or not I'll make a wish." HiddenHeart responded.

"Take your time then when I know you have a wish I'll come back without you calling me." He said then disappeared.

Undyne saw a fox before she could even sleep. It was close to midnight.

"Hello there. I am Chris, and I have been looking for Pokémon like you." The fox spoke to Undyne.

"Okay...?" Undyne then grabbed her scalchop, about to attack Chris, until he spoke something.

"Before you attack, I will grant you one wish and magic powers. And if you want said wish to come true, you will have to fight Despair - who are deceased Pokémon with the powers, and some born with a curse - for your entire life. If you die, you will become Despair yourself." Chris slowly explained, and Undyne dropped her spear.

"Alright... I'll find out what my wish will be... In the meantime..." But before Undyne could finish, Chris vanished.

She just wanted to be a heroine to the Pokémon, and a good example to younger ones.

I was wandering around outside when I saw a fox stalking me. I leaped up like a metre and charged my Swiss army knife. "Whoa, whoa, whoa." it said. "Calm down. My name's Chris. Your fat reaction time confirmed my expectations."

"Expectations for what?" I asked dumbly.

"I am considering you to do something. If I grant you one wish and a magical power, will you fight a bunch of dead Pokémon called Despair? The catch is, you'll become one when you die."

"Okay then," I murmured, "I know what to wish for."

Himeko finally decided. She would become a Magical pokemon and form a contract with Chris. Chris came over to her a day later.

Chris:
"So, have you decided?"

Himeko nodded determinedly.

Himeko:
"Yes. I wish that...I could see my parents again!"

Chris began forming the contract.

Chris:
"The contract is complete. Now go, and awaken your new power!"

Everle wandered around the woods when she caught sight of a fox behind a tree. It came up to her and Everle backed away cautiously.

"My name's Chris. I've been looking around for Pokémon like you. I've been signing contracts with others and now it is time for you to." it said.

"Tell me more."

"I'll grant you a wish-"

"Okay, I'm up for it." Everle interrupted.

"And in exchange, you'll have to fight Despair. They're dead Pokémon and you'll be one when you die."

"Oh. Can you give me more time?"

"Alright. Goodbye. I'll come again tomorrow."

Chris walked away back behind the tree.

"It's settled." Undyne spoke to herself and Chris appeared.

"So what is your wish." Chris spoke to Undyne.

Undyne took a deep breath. "Okay. I wish to be the heroine every Pokémon deserves. There isn't a lot of heroes and heroines in the Pokémon world, and I want to be one. That is my wish."

Chris smiled.
"Then the contract is sealed and done...!"

A strange light Undyne's heart, but then vanished. Chris vanished, but the air felt colder around her.
"Strange... It never felt cold like this before... Huh?" Her feet below made the floor ice.
"So is this my power Chris gave me... Maybe if I fight these Despair, I can be a well-known heroine! I always wanted to use a spear instead of my scalchops... Maybe I can create one out of ice?" She focused her energy on to making a spear, but stopped and slowly went to bed.

Chris wanted to travel and accompany Himeko in her journey.

Chris:
"I can be invisible at will, so you don't have to worry about your friends seeing me in school."

Himeko:
"OK."

At 10:00 PM...

Himeko walked out into the streets carefully. Chris' ears perked up as he sensed a Despair nearby.

Chris:
"I sense a Despair. Let me double check."

Chris confirmed it and pointed to a wall.

Chris:
"Yes. There is one. Himeko, I want you to head into that wall."

Himeko:
"How?"

Chris:
"Just do it!"

Himeko did so and managed to walk through. On the other side, the environment changed. She was now in a huge room filled with ghosts and Halloween candies. A Despair appeared before her and attacked her. Not knowing what to do, she fell down with a thump.

Undyne was at the same school with Himeko. She saw her walking around, as she proceeds to follow the Pokémon. Himeko then went past a wall for some odd reason as if the wall was an illusion.
"Huh? Is anybody there?" Undyne talked to the wall in confusion.

(Is the wall an illusion and only Pokémon with magic can go past, or can others go inside by accident?)

Himeko was scared. The Despair creature loomed over her, ready to eat her. She panicked.

(No, Chris can sense a Despair's presence when one is nearby. Despair hides themselves within barriers so that normal people can't see them.)

"What?" asked Chris.

"I wish for my parents to stop arguing."

"Okay. You can now control animal electricity. You can use your electric shocks to stimulate nerves and paralyze, revive, and kill."

Suddenly the Chris the fox guy came out of nowhere again. "I'm back and I sense you have a wish?" He asked her.

HiddenHeart nodded. "My wish is to not be taken for granted."

"Then good luck on fighting the Despair. ....And the contract is done. In addition to your contact you can manipulate the weather and temperature, and withstand any temperature." The fox named Chris was gone.
HiddenHeart didn't know what to do just went back to her pokemon school. She slowly went to take up her stuff and go back to school.

Chris just simply disappeared. I scratched my head curiously and wondered if I'd been seeing things. At home, though, all was peaceful. My parents had made up. It was almost as if it were real...

Everle spent the whole night thinking about this contract. By morning, she had made up her mind.

Early in the morning, she got of her bed and went to the exact spot she found Chris that day. Immediately, Chris appeared from behind the tree again.

"So?"
"I wish.. I wish to have a elder brother."

Chris started to form a contract and not long after he was done.

"The contract is done. Go and discover your new power!" Chris' tone changed. He ran off back behind the tree and vanished again.
Everle walked back home and spent the whole day normally.

The next day, she woke up as felt too lazy to get her first cup of water. She stumbled out of bed and went to get a glass of water. She saw Marshtomp sitting down on the chair.
"Are you my br.. brother?" her eyes widened.
"What are you talking about?" the Marshtomp said. "Have you got your brain washed?
It was like the Marshtomp had known Everle all along.
"Teave. TEAVE. Have you forgotten me?!" he continued.
Everle walked away to get her drink awkwardly, she couldn't believe it. She was too distracted that she accidentally got water out of the cup, she panicked a little and amazingly, the water flew up back into the cup again. Is that my new power?

HiddenHeart heard a scream. Her ears perked up and followed the scream into the school and there she was wondering where I came from. She stood there trying to find out where the scream came from.

Himeko was very scared, but she could not get out. She backed away, still crying. She became so frightened that she used her new power by chance - time stopping. A bow made of a rose branch appeared before her, waiting patiently for her to take it. She grabbed it and a glowing pink arrow appeared in her other hand. Feeling braver, she readied the arrow and prepared to shoot. She jumped into the air and shot the arrow at the Despair, piercing it and causing the barrier and the wall to disappear. The arrow and the bow faded, and time began to move again. She looked at herself.
("What did I do....?"), she thought.

Everle walked to the woods, her heart thumping wildly. She just got her greatest dream fufilled and she had a amazing power. She wanted to ask Chris more questions.
"What brings you here?" This time, Chris was already not behind the tree. His tone was his usual.
"I wanted to ask you more questions about the contract."
Chris did not say anything.
"Where are the Despair, and can other people see them?"
"Everywhere, no."
"Can you show me one? And let me fight it?"
Chris went out of the woods and looked around.
"I can be invisible to the others if you'd like." he said.
"Yes, please."
He continued on and soon they got near to Gym.
"I can sense a Despair." Chris said as he pointed to the wall of the Gym. "Go on." his tone became softer.

Himeko happened to go to the Gym as well. His ears perked up.

Chris:
"I can sense a Despair. Do what you did the previous time."

Himeko nodded and walked through the Gym wall. She used magic to create her bow and her arrow. She began battling.

"What did I just see?" Everle muttered.
"That is one of the Pokemon that signed the contract too. Just like you." Chris replied. "Go on, in that wall."

Everle moved towards the wall and touched it, her hand went right through. Oh my.. She stepped inside and saw the Despair and the other Pokemon fighting it. Everle went beside her and started to use her normal powers.

Himeko used her time power and stopped time. She tapped Everle, allowing her to move. She ran around the Despair and started shooting arrows everywhere.

The dead Rattata released a weird singsong tone and a thick black mist came out of its mouth. I paralyzed it with the animal electricity and considered what to do.

HiddenHeart not accompanied by Chris for the moment saw a dead taillow. Is that a Despair? She asked in her mind.
Chris suddenly showed up. "Yes, yes that it's a Despair. Now battle it with your life." He urged her warningly and forcefully.
A whip with a ice dagger at the end showed up. HiddenHeart didn't care what it was because the Despair was flying towards her about to attack. She picked it up and whipped the Despair. Somehow the temperature became 20 degrees farenheit and she didn't feel anything. She whipped it again. Then it slowly faded away.
"In the future there will be harder foes. Right now it's 20 degrees farenheit. The temperature changed because you can manipulate it and that whip right there with the ice dagger is unbreakable and your permanent weapon. Later in the future you'll see what you can do by changing the weather." Chris said dissappearing again without telling her any other info.
She wandered around hoping no Despair will ambush HiddenHeart. As she wandered around she saw a Pikachu fighting a dead rattata despair. She stood there watching for some reason not knowing if she should help.

The dead Rattata couldn't move, but the black stuff was still coming out of its mouth. "Argh!" I screamed. I grabbed my charged Swiss army knife and discovered that at could slice through the material. I freed myself and ignoring the grossness, pounced on it and sliced it in half indirectly, with electricity. I wiped my brow. That was just a lvl 2 Rattata. What would even tougher Despair be like? Just then, the sight of an odd-looking Snivy startled me out of my thoughts.

"Um, what are you doing? You're alive, eh?" I asked hesitantly.

Undyne then saw Chris, who sensed a Despair.
"A Despair is outside the school grounds. Maybe you should try and attack and defeat them."

Undyne was surprised, but school is closing to an end. Her teacher won't know she's gone, so she quickly ran to the outside of her school, seeing a deceased Piplup, with chains around it. The chains flew towards Undyne, but she quickly used her water gun and created a shield. The shield didn't looked cracked, and Undyne managed to have time to make an ice spear using water. She then tossed it at the Piplup, who got stabbed by it, but the spear slowly melted. The Despair then wrapped Undyne around the chains, but she quickly froze it just by making contact with it. The chains then became loose and shattered.
"Now's my chance!" She proceeded to make another spear, and tossed it towards the Piplup. The spear managed to destroy the Piplup, as it turned into dust. The spear melted.

"Very good. That was your first Despair. I wonder how you are good with the spears." Chris looked at Undyne.

"That's easy. I fought with spears in my life in water form, but they're hard to manage and not good against electricity, so I got real spears." Undyne explained quickly.

"So I suppose you like your new power?"

Undyne nodded. "Yes. The spears don't break easily, as if it's dry ice."

"Woah." Everle muttered. She continued to use her powers until she saw a long stick with a sharp point at the top and seaweed tied to it at the end. It seemed like it was for her. She grabbed it and started attacking the Despair with the stick, it was sharp enough to make the Despair bleed quite a lot.
