My creatures should have been dead by now?

Hey everyone
Well I took a long break from EggCave and I decided to return and, as I had expected, almost all of my creatures have died, except the immortal ones and two mortals (my Ikamifoo and my Lepilex). I'm happy that at least I have something left but I was wondering why are the mortal ones still alive? This has happened before, I had left EggCave for a while and not all of my mortals were dead.

@eva_ All mortal pets have a chance of dying at 0 happiness, its not guaranteed that a mortal at 0 happiness will die. So if a mortal pet is very lucky it can live for quite a while at 0 happiness.
