I started playing last night when Neopets went down with technical difficulties and would not come back up. I have played Neopets off and on for over 10 years, but I need something a little different. I found this place through "The Daily Neopets" Guide. The Egg Caves is listed as an affiliate on the bottom of the page, and as it sounded interesting, I thought that I would check it out, so here I am.

Now for the confusing part---How do you make in-game money here besides feeding your pets? It looks like I need to find a way to make in-game money, and if feeding our pets are the only way to get in-game money, how often can we feed them? Is there games to play, how do I find free things, do I have a shop? HELP Please! This looks fun and interesting, but I need something to hold my attention other than just feeding my pets. I also need LOTS of friends as friends make things easier. Thank-you very much! ~born2b_59

Hi,
You can trade/auction your creatures for money. Game-wise, go to the City of Leila and you can bet on Races, play the Site Trivia, and guess on the Wall of Sandrodons. There's no flash games or anything here.

Note that this game emphasize trading/collecting than all else. 😋

A lot of users come from Neopet and all ask the same things.

In game money can be made by feeding creatures. You can also get some by selling creatures in the Auctions, putting your EC into the Strongroom, having the correct answers in the Site Trivia and Wall of Sandrodons. There is also the Alkub Racing but it costs 1,000 EC.

You can feed them every day and the creatures are refreshed around 3-4 AM.

You can find free things in the Adoption Center and the Oasis. Sometimes there are events which will give out free things. YOu do not have a shop to sell items but you can sell things in the auctions and trade items in the Item Trade Center.

Do you have any other questions?

I do not have any more questions right now, and thanks for answering so quickly. 😊 It will be nice not to have to play games to make money, and I have found that I can get LOTS of money by feeding other peoples' pets. I like it much better than trying to figure out how to play games.

Welcome to Eggcave! 😊 Since someone beat me to explanations I'll give you some advice on a few mistakes a lot of newbies make.

First, make sure you ping someone when you reply to them! To ping someone simply click the bell under their post number or type their username with an '@' in front of it! Example : @raccoon

Second, if someone writes on your wall (the comments on your profile) and you want to reply make sure you go and post your reply to their wall instead of on your own! No need to ping people on the walls!

Third, some people don't like their eggs to be fed, make sure you read over their profile to see if they mention anything about it. I believe theres a board with coves that are feed friendly. If I see it again I'll be sure to send the link your way if you want.

Feel free to ask me any questions! ^.^ I love helping new players find their way around the site.

@raccoon

Why would people not want their eggs to be fed? Don't they all have to eat?

and I have never heard anything about "pinging", so if you could please explain it further, I would appreciate it.

It is all sooo confusing!

Eggs hatch and grow by being fed, viewed, and clicked. Some people want their egg/creature to stay in it's current stage. Theres an item for this situation that 'freezes' a creature in its current stage forever but you buy it with cavecash (bought with real life currency), and some people can't buy enough freezes at once and so they ask that their creatures not be fed until they can get it frozen.

Most players welcome feeds with open arms though, so if they don't mention anywhere on their profile about not wanting feeds you're probably safe.

Pinging is simply a way to let another player know you've responded to them. When you ping someone a notification pops up for them saying they were pinged. So they don't accidently miss your response! 😊

I hope I explained it clearly enough!

@raccoon

You explained it perfectly and thank-you very much! 😊 This game can get rather addicting and it is nice not to have to bother with trying to learn how to play games, just to get some in-game money. I will be sure to look before I feed. I certainly would not want people to get mad at me for excessive clicking! 😉

Hello! I'm Izzy, and I work at the Critter Corner, a user-made system to find homeless pets a home! ❤️ If you have any homeless creatures, just give them to us! We'll make sure they are well-fed and have a good home. 😃 You can also join Critter Corner and earn a monthly salary, depending on the position you pick, but you might want to wait until you've learned how to get around Egg Cave a little better. 😉 For more info, here is the Critter Corner topic>>>> http://eggcave.com/forums/topic/58591/0#1340642 Thanks, and have a wonderful day! 😸
