The glassy sliding doors whirred open mechanically, a strange contrast to the classical feel of the city. Sadie stood in the doorway, acting like an outlaw barging into a saloon like in the old western movies she used to watch as a Buneary. She studied her surroundings carefully to plan her robbery, but there really wasn't much to see.

The wooden shelves were lined with nothing but pickaxes and other digging supplies, but nothing of interest. At the service counter was a glass panel covering a display of rare and valuable items. Hunched over the showcasing was a young man wearing a mining hat with the dim headlight still shining, tarnishing the spotless glass with a small drop of drool.

There's some nice junk in there, but this isn't really much of a robbery, is it... Sadie sighed to herself, easily scooting the clerk out of the way of the glass and reaching into the display case. This mate's catchin' forty winks while I'm over here floggin' his swag! She giggled to herself as she pulled out an Amulet Coin, a Comet Shard, a Star Piece, a number of different gemstones, three Big Pearls and a gold nugget and stuffed them in her bag.

She left the Pokémart without a word.

nova heard someone running up behind him and turned around to see what it was. it was a young looking trainer with a yellow shirt, a blue and and denim shorts.

young trainer:

"finally! a riolu! but what's it doing here? who cares! you're mine now! go, gengar!"

he opened a pokeball, and out came a gengar, smiling viciously at nova.

young trainer:

"alright gengar! use curse!"

nova cowered towards the ground a little, slightly wide eyed. the gengar was at about half health, but nova felt like a ghost now. he felt weightless. fighting type moves had no effect on ghost types. nova ran for his life. sure enough, the trainer started following.

young trainer:

"the riolu is getting away! come on, gengar!"

nova kept running, around buildings, though the snow. the young trainer was catching up though, so nova had an idea. he rounded a corner and played dead, not with his tongue sticking out or anything. he looked like he was asleep, but without breathing. when the trainer caught up, he looked disappointed.

young trainer:

"aww, man! it fainted! i can't catch it now. gengar, return!"

the gengar returned to it's pokeball and the trainer ran off.

yes! my plan worked! that was a dumb trainer.

but then, he tried to get up, but he couldn't. he couldn't move.

on second thought, get back here, trainer! ugh....at this rate, im just gonna get snowed on. maybe that glaceon was watching me run from the trainer and could drag me to a pokemon center.....

Suddenly, a man with a Staraptor perched on his shoulder was staring wide-eyed at Sadie.

Drat! He'd seen me stealin'! she thought, ideas on how to slip away racing through her mind.

"Hey! A wild Lopunny jus' robbed the Pokémart!" the man shouted. His voice was slurred with a thick southern accent, and the poor Staraptor could barely understand the the man. "Staraptor! Give that good-fer-nothin' urchin a lesson!"

The Staraptor seemed to get the gist of what he was saying, and it launched up into the sky like a jet plane. All Sadie could see was a red and grey blur race across the cityscape, but she knew what was going on.

Crap! Thoughts sifted through her mind as she darted away, but the Staraptor still silently glided overhead with its trainer not far behind. She reached in her bag as she ran and pulled out the Lopunnite in a state of desperation. I sure hope this works..! she thought, holding it up in the air dramatically.

Light poured out of the baseball-sized stone like a beacon, enveloping Sadie in a glimmering light. When the light dispersed, her forme had been altered drastically--she had Mega Evolved. The stone still glowed dimly in her muscular palm as she prepared to counterattack the Staraptor.

Frost and Pip ran after Hunter, wondering what happened to him. They found him unable to move.
Pip: "Wow. What happened to you Mister?"
Frost: "Are you ok?... Can you even talk?"

Frost: "You slide him, I'll make a path."
Pip: "Ok."
Frost used ice beam on the street, freezing it over.
Frost: "Start pushing Pip. I'm going to go up ahead and continue making a path." She ran out of sight. Pip looked at Nova.
Pip: "I guess it's just you and me." He began to slide Nova on the ice, pushing him in the way Frost had gone.

The Staraptor hesitated for a moment, flapping wildly in shock. It hadn't seen very many Pokémon Mega Evolve before, and certainly wasn't expecting to encounter a Mega Pokémon now.

"Well, what're you waiting for?" The man bellowed, waving his arms at his Staraptor. It shook its head and recollected itself before dive-bombing Sadie from above at mach speed.

Sadie panicked and let instinct take over. Her senses were enhanced greatly with the power of the Mega Stone, so she dodged without thinking. She spun around and roundhouse kicked the predatory bird Pokémon in the beak before backing up and catching her breath.

"'Yer too slow, mate!" Sadie laughed as the Staraptor forced itself off the ground and flew towards her once again. This time, she was caught off guard and got hit, its beak piercing her skin and shoving her backwards onto the dirty road. She spat blood from between her teeth and dusted herself off before staggering to her feet and planting another kick between the Staraptor's eyes.

I gotta split, or this dipstick and his damned bird'll kill me! Sadie thought. Without waiting for the Staraptor to recover, she sprinted out of the city. All right, I'm finally outta that dry-as-a-dead-dingo's-donger town. It's London to a brick that I gotta keep running, but where to?

She frantically looked left and right before coming up with a solution. Snowpoint City! They'll never chase me all the way up there! She decided. She ran north for Snowpoint.

Sadie slowed to a walk and looked around for a way to get to Snowpoint. Suddenly, she remembered Mount Coronet had an outlet near there. She snuck onto Route 207 while keeping an eye out for the man and his Staraptor.

Tall grass brushed at her ankles as she walked towards the foot of the mountain looming eerily overhead. She finally approached the entrance, resolve filling her spirit as she walked in with confidence.

She was plunged into darkness the second she stepped foot into the cavern, and a creepy feeling washed over her. She was still Mega Evolved and could easily defend herself against any wild Pokémon she might encounter, but the fear of getting lost in there was far too much. Sadie, despite her trepidation, continued further anyways.
