I don't understand this newfangled doohickeys

So a ton has changed since I was last here
If y'all could tell me what the following do/are for I'd really appreciate it:
Thief Shop
Leila Oasis
Trinket Travels
Also what are all these toy/book shops useful for? I was still here when they were added but never found out what they were good for

Thief Shop - You can get creatures here. There are eggs with question marks that you buy for varying amounts of EC. Some do not have actual critters in them so you can end up spending sometimes 5oo,oooEC and not get anything. If you want to know all the ones here I can give you links to most

Leila Oasis - You can get endangered species here. They do not cost anything. So like Punbunda, Unhemn, Aerlo, etc.

Both these restock very very rarely.

Trinket Travels - Mianly just travels but for like specific critters, although you can use them on any critters really since some look good on others than the specific one they were made for.

The toys, books, foods will give stats to the critter you give it to every no and then but not all the time
