Old users leaving. T_T

It's around this time of year that old users leave Egg Cave. The reason? One word. SCHOOL. Yes, we all hate it, but what we surely hate more is that people are forced to leave because of it. So, who out of the countless number of people reading this topic thinks we should create a 'Old but not leaving' club? I certainly do. So please, post your opinions so we can save Egg Cave oldies!

Well school is tough and far more priority.. Some people also grow out from this, so to say.. And let's admit it, EC has gotten pretty stale lately and people are more willing to dedicate themselves to school than "wasting time" on here just feeding creatures. They are oldies, they obtained all the critters they wanted and what's left for them to do? Virtually nothing. I kinda understand them for leaving to be honest.

Of course it still does suck they leave, but again, you should look at things from their perspective.

@petpet55 Just because they have all the pets they want doesn't mean they should quit! Ok, I can give credit for the other reasons, but childish is not the word I would use.

This is still a very nice community, so I don't see why there isn't an 'in between' option. Plus: isn't it a bigger waste to collect all these creatures and then just leave O.o

@dionaea I totally agree with you there. What's the point in getting so many rares and leaving just because you can't get a Doovoo or Macbot?

Well, I don't want any more users to quit so don't get me wrong but the only thing left for them to do is wait the next monthlies kinda.. I'm not saying site is childish, but that sometimes you grow out from stuff, whether it's the book genre you reading, place you used to go, etc.

Talking to people is fun but when most of your friends leave it starts the chain reaction.. Sadly, when you start stuff, you know there will be the day you quit it.

@petpet55 I know how most people think Adoptable Pet Sites can be classed as 'childish', but if you joined every website and thought 'This is childish and I'll quit one day' without even giving it a chance, you'd miss out on any chance of having fun and you'd end up thinking all websites were, more or less, boring.

I've been here for nearly two years, and I'm not going anywhere. 😊 Granted, I finished my education this year so I've had a lot more time for EC, but now I've got real life to face (y'know... jobs, independence, responsabilities, etc). It's tough, but I'm not quitting. I come on Egg Cave to relax and have fun (even though there's not much to do, I still love it here). 😃

I understand people's point of view when they say they're quitting because of school. But even so, I think they should at least check back every now and again to see how their friends (and the site!) are doing. ^^ It's always sad seeing people quit, and there's been too much of it lately. :/

Well you are missing my point.
Look, I personally joined many pet sites out there and this is rare one I actually stayed in quite long and I really love the community here. People are really friendly and I haven't met any extremely rude user out here.

What I am saying is that even thou they are oldies and have been here since beginning, they also have their private lives, including school and they can't stay here forever. Quitting stuff isn't an easy choice and I'm sure they thought it through before taking any action. I am just defending the reasons people quit so you can understand why..

I know I'll miss quite a few people who are going on hiatus for a quite long time myself, but there's nothing we can do, really.

I don't want any more people to quit but sadly, sometimes real life comes in the way.

@petpet55 I think you're missing my point, too. I know that people have lives off site and might not be able to come on for a few days, but guess what? That's what they invented Tim's for! And, of course, most people have friends and/or family that they trust enough to give their precious creatures to. So, personally, I think that if they really can't stand Egg Cave anymore or have no time, then fine. I just think that people should try and stay on, for, at the very least, the sake of their friends.

I agree with you on the staying for your friends part.
But, yeah, like you said some got bored of EC too much to stand it anymore or are simply annoyed by amount of new users creeping in (new annoying users like me haha xD). Anyway, that's why I believe you should have more than one site to keep the diversity up.

That's all I'm saying, really. I don't like their quitting but I understand them fully.

Haha, I'm not so much old but by the age of my account I've experienced plenty of EC.
I'm not leaving anytime soon even though school started.

I have a lot of work but so far the work is pretty easy after all.
But I won't be on much because I'm not interested in getting Saturday detentions!

I just need to feed a few peoples eggs and put them into Tim's.
But it's sad seeing all the older users quit.

I'm a bit old. I'm in college right now, but I'm trying my best to be on Egg Cave. I am on, though.

I won't be on much this Labor Day weekend, though, since my parents would want to spend time with me and probably not like me being on the computer. ^ _ ^;

I'll even be able to put my creatures in Tim's for a while since I've got around 1,450,000 EC.
