"Let's follow it." Ash says, her voice hoarse from screaming. "Here kitty kitty, where do you want us to go?" she said in a soft, sweet voice.

Enna looks around, scared. "M-Max? A-Ashlynn?!" "Where are they..." she wonders nervously.

Elizabeth continued walking forward when the tracks stopped. "Well, this is unexpected," She muttered then turned back around.

As she continued to find her way back to Charles, Elizabeth noticed something strange. The surrounding area seemed, different. Just follow the path, you'll be fine she whispered to herself.

Maybe splitting up from Charles wasn't such a great idea...

"Hey, no need to be afraid, we'll be fine," Charles placed his hand on Enna's back, "I'm sure Ashlynn and Max are fine. Elizabeth's probably found them." He smiled, pushing his worries aside.

The cat's orange sweater was like a lantern in the forest. As it walked, it seemed to flicker like a flame. Suddenly it disappeared around a corner and reappeared on a well trodden path several meters away. Max wasn't sure, but he swore that they were getting a lot closer to the cabins. It seemed stupid relying on a cat to solve their problem, but right now they were desperate for help and the plan was working.
"Come on. I think that it's leading us to someone." Max panted.

Ryan huffed, brushing dirt out of his hair. Ouch, that had hurt. But he had opened a secret compartment! Brimming with excitement, he sprung to his feet and ran over to the opened compartment.
"Hey guys, look what I found!!!!"
He plunged his hands deep into the hole and pulled out a large strip of cloth.

"Oh gosh..." Enna whispers, getting more creeped out by the second. "What...what i-is it?!" She stammers, her eyes widening. "I-Is it d-d-dangerous? Does it s-say anything?"

"Jeez Enna, stop being so paranoid!" chuckled Ryan. "Hey wait, this is a sack!"
He chided himself for not noticing earlier and turned it over in his hands, trying to find the opening. His excitement quickly turned to confusion and then disappointment as he realized- someone had stitched shut the opening!
"Oh, well." he muttered. "I'll snip it open when we get to the cabins."
Ryan lifted the sack into his backpack and stood up. There was a weird noise coming from the nearby bushes, and it was putting him on nerve.

Ash pulls away from Max. "I think I can walk on my own.." She says and steps on her bad ankle. She crumbles to the ground, pain shooting up her leg. "Nope.." She mutters through her teeth and grabs onto Max, trying to pull herself up

"Just be careful," murmurs Max. He puts his arm around her to support her, and releases with a jolt of panic that the black cat has vanished. That was a shame, he was quite enjoying it's company. On the plus side, it has led them very close to a dusty stretch of aged tarmac, the kind of road that went on highways and was frequented by machines. This one was old and bumpy, but it was infinitely better than trudging through bushland for ages and ages. Plus, it would mean that there might be someone around to pick them up.
"Come on," he said to Ash, gently guiding her to the road.

Ash sighs and limps, leaning on him. "Wait! I hear someone!" She says moving in the direction of a boys voice.

A second later, there came the sound of tyres on road. A teenager drove through the trees in a golf buggy, with the cat perched on the white canopy on the roof. As the teenager saw the kids, he pulled over.
"Woah, what happened?" he asked. "That ankle looks the size of a tennis ball, did ya twist it?"

"She fell down a hole" Max replied. "Thanks so much for your help, can you take us to the camp please?"

The teenager nodded and moved to make room for the two.

Enna goes all out panic attack. "I never wanted to come here and now there are creepy noises and I'm so so so sosososososooooo SCARED!!!" She whimpers, latching on to Ryan's shoulders and hiding behind him. "Why does this have to happen... "

Ryan places his hand on Enna's shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. Don't worry, I'll always be here to protect you. And ghosts don't exist!" he says gently. Then he turns to Charles. "I think we've got to get moving, if we're moving we'll probably have a higher chance of finding someone. There's no possible chance we're reaching the camp if we stay in the same place." He turns to Enna. "Right?"

Ryan hugs Enna to comfort her. "Don't be afraid Enna, please don't be afraid. I assure you, there's no such thing as a ghost."
By this time, he seriously dubted these words even though they came from his own mouth. He swore that there was something in the bushes, as though the creature's eyes were drilling into the back of his neck.
"come on, let's go. There's no way we're going to get to the camp if we stay here and freak out."
He slung his bag over his shoulder and beckoned for them to follow him.

"Voices?" Max looks concerned. Maybe Ash had hit her head when she took the tumble down that hole, and was hearing things. "I can't hear no voices. You okay?"

"R-Right..." Enna mumbles, returning Ryan's hug. "THERE ARE NO SUCH THING AS GHOSTS." she whispers to herself, but still doubts it.

"Yeah, we should probably move to higher ground." She says, looking around. She could've sworn she heard voices. Creepy, whispering voices that seem to call out to her, trying to lure her to them.

And the worst thing was, she wanted to follow them. "No, Enna!" she scolds herself mentally. "Don't you dare!" She squeezes her eyes shut and plugs her fingers into her ears. "I...I hear v-voices..." she stammers out at Ryan.

Ryan heard a faint call sound through the woods. Was it... ASH?
"Come on, I think I hear someone!" he called to Enna and Charles. Without thinking, he ran out of the clearing and pounded in the direction of the voices. "GUYS! OVER HERE!"

Ryan put his hands up in the air and waved as hard as he could. "HERE! OVER HERE!"
He stood by the side of the road and watched in amazement as a golf cart drove by with Max and Ash seated within. As the golf cart pulled over, Max hopped out and ran over.
"Ryan, where are the others?"
"over in the bush somewhere. I'm sure they'll follow."

Ryan stared at Ash's ankle. "Woah, what happened?" he asked.
"We decided to explore a mine shaft, and Ash got hurt." replied Max. Ryan looked confused.
"What? So you went inside after all?" he asked. Max nodded.
Ryan looked creeped out.
"When we went to look for you guys, there wasn't any mine shaft. I didn't know where you had gone, but we were so worried! Where DID you go?"

Hey guys, just saying. I'm going to be leaving EggCave for a week, so I won't be able to roleplay with you guys, okay? You can roleplay my characters if you want to, please? Thank you for your understanding. 😊 I'll be back.

PS: The teenager's name is Tyson, and he knows the forest like the back of his hand. His father is an undercover paranormal investigator who is studying the mysteries of Howler Woods. Tyson can take your characters to the camp in his golf buggy, but you still have to find Elizabeth, or she'll be left behind.
