Rose laughed.
"Well, the guardians had so much training, they're somewhere close to ones you'd find in a military, although I do not know how both resemble, as I've never explored the ground enough... They're all loyal to Seika, and they always follow orders, and they all look like normal heroes."

Seika then tried to find out what time it is, although she couldn't tell, but the moon is almost above the sky, and it looked like it was around 11:30.
"Have we really been fighting these shadows for that long?" She asked herself, and continued drawing arrows and shooting them towards the shadows.

Tervis went to a dark part of the core's room, and hid. He didn't want to fight the monsters, but another part of him wanted to fight them until there's no more.
Sighing, he lied down and started to fall asleep.

Glacier slashed a shadow in half with her tail and Zenith promptly ignited it. She smiled slightly. One shadow down a million to go.

Nadir soared through the cloudy night sky as the battle unfolded beneath him. His scales gleamed silver in the moonlight. This was the closest he ever got to being a light dragon once more. He landed near the tower base, a meter or two away from who he recognized as Seika, leader of the Lotus Guardians.

"Let us create a torturous way for these shadow creatures," Shizaya muttered to themself. They created acid around the shadows. It started to crawl towards the shadows and dissolve them into nothingness.
"That seems such a delight to be able to use my magic again," he said as he teleported onto the tower to look from above. "Wowie! Three dragons at a location! Wonder what business they have here and if there's enough room for three!" Shizaya saw a bird's perspective and saw most of the things around.

Seika grabbed more flaming arrows, and noticed that the dark fog around has faded away. She quickly shot the arrows towards some shadows before summoning a bunch of light wisps.
"Looks like the fog faded away, but the shadows haven't." She said and continued fighting the shadows around the area. Looking at the moon, she could see it's almost reaching the sky.
"Close to midnight," she said, "and I didn't get a chance to have my summoned friends to attack... How disappointing..."

Rose noticed a shadow creature teleport towards the core, attempting to smash it.
"The shadow..." She quickly created a light orb and shot it towards the creature, but it dodged, now having its target changed from the core to Rose.
"Oh no... Stay away from me!" She created light beams but they were no use, as the shadow teleported out of the way.

Sumire quickly shot supersonic blasts of water at the shadow that was attacking Rose, but to no avail. Soon enough, it started attacking her too. She began to cry slightly as she began to yell as she shot more blasts, quickly draining her energy.
"Argh...hit!! Hit! Hit already, dang it!!!"

Meanwhile Hecten awake quickly as first screams got to him, and found Sumire attacked by shadows... He tried to use slime crystal storm onto shadow, but it begun to attack Hecten too... Surprised he leaped onto shadow,but got knocked out really fast... Then he lost consciousness, becauce of fatal hit, he couldn't know... However it wasn't deadly...

Nadir's eyes narrowed at all the shadow creatures. They were the reason he was not a light dragon. He felt his pet bird land on his shoulder and caw loudly. "Hush Luma," he told his pet. Nadir knew his light powers probably wouldn't work for too long. But the moon was at its highest so he murmured slightly and a weak burst of moonbeams struck 3 shadow beings and weakened them. Naturally they turned on him.

Zenith channeled some of his energy into creating some fire balls.

"Gah..." Rose slowly got up and prepared a weaker light bomb attack. "Everybody! You better hide or something, because the bomb is going to explode right as I place it down... The core's going to be enveloped in light!"

Seika then commanded the wisps to attack the shadows around her, and they did, the shadows vanishing one by one as the wisps approach them.

Nadir mentally ran through his list of creatures he could summon. Lum, Gloe, and Rai he decided. Each were light sprites. He realized he wasn't the only one who'd summoned creatures of light. Seika was a good choice for leader of the Lotus Guardians. Lum, Gloe, and Rai fluttered their small wings and immediately flew to the light wisps admiring their glow. "Man they get distracted easily," he muttered. He commanded them to attack the three shadow beings charging at him.

Attempting to get out of the core, Sumire flew up and approached the guards again.
"Excuse me, is it safe the leave the core now?" She whipped back around and shot some water blasts at the shadows, pushing them back.

Ester shot some fire at the shadows."What do they want from the core?" She asked as the shadows began to attack her. She managed to disperse a few though.

Rose quickly answered as she dispels the light bomb and rushes towards the teleporting shadow, light appearing around her as she approaches it.
"They're here to destroy the core and cause the island to fall. And these shadows are just underlings... I'm afraid to know what's above them if these shadows are tough to fight."

Seika then noticed Sumire trying to exit. She approaches her and the guards.
"You two can go, it's safe to say that the core is still standing due to the people there, so you can go."
The guards then left their spot and started freely fighting the shadows. Seika then approaches the core, and noticed a teleporting shadow.
"Huh? It's the teleporting shadow again..."

Ester made flames dance around her to protect her from the shadows as she shot flames from her barrier. She started to fight lots of shadows at once, shooting well aimed flames. She said, "I don't want to fight the bigger ones, a least these are underlings we can fight."

"Thank you!" She flew out of the core and the tower quickly, flying back to her home hurriedly.

The light sprites flew through the shadows making them disappear in a puff of smoke.

Glacier exhaled a cloud of frosty breath that encased a shadow in a sheet of ice. She knew that light was the only proper way to destroy them but this would do for now.

Ester tried to get near the shadows while letting the flames lick it. It helped dissipated a few more.

(Nothing much, the selected people are in the core, fighting back the shadows in there. It's midnight, and characters can use their powers again.)

Seika thought about using her earth manipulation, but realized that if she were to use it in an unstable ground such as a floating island, she could cause the island to break in half and fall. She decided against using it.

Looking at the sky, she noticed that the moon is falling to the other side. It looks like it's around 12:30, but she couldn't say for sure.
"Is it that late? These shadows don't know when to quit..."
Seika grabbed another flaming arrow, and tried to look for any shadows.

Rose then looked at Ester.
"The bigger creatures can't enter this floating island, but they made the barrier weak so that the underlings can attack at night, but we need to make the barrier strong, that way these invasions are less frequent..."
Rose paused for a moment as she threw light orbs at a group of shadows, until continuing again. "I feel glad that I've researched these creatures and their behavior when I was on my two year journey. Besides," she added, "these things have a one track mind, only seeking enemies and killing them. Heck, most of them don't know what a door is. Even if they did know what a door was, they'd probably be unable to open it," Rose said jokingly.

Tervis examined the fight, keeping his hood up. He didn't want anybody to see him, especially with the light orbs flying around the room, his face and species were ment to be kept a secret.

Alissa runs around the shadows. She begins to panic as they approach her, many cornering her. She sends ice at them but only catches one with it. She looks for a way to escape and takes a deep breathe. She shifts into an eagle, but being not used to shapeshifting she stops halfway almost screaming in pain. She slowly turns back human, sweating and pain rushing through her body.

"Help!" She called. "I can't shift because.. because i've never mastered that power!"

Ester quickly turned around to see shadows cornering Alissa. She begins to set them aflame as they start to dissipate.

Zenith set several shadows on fire. One tackled him and he tripped. He tried to shoot fire balls at it but he was stuck.

Alissa tries again at turning into an eagle and after a painful few minutes she manages to fly away and collapse on the ground turning back human, pain soaring through her body.
