How should I make my cove look nicer?

So I've been having this dilemma for a super long time. No matter what travels I use, I feel like my cove always looks icky. I tried putting moontops on everyone, it looked weird for some reason. I tried adding some variety but keep the same over-all color scheme, still looks weird. The only thing I have left to try is to put totally different travels on everyone and hope that the color makes it look better.
But if I do that and end up hating it, I'm out of luck, since I don't have enough moontops & similar travels to fix it afterwards. So I'm not sure what to do??? I guess I just need help making a decision. I see so many coves out there that are so nice to scroll through and pretty to look at and I want mine to be like that.

So what do u all think I should do?

In my opinion I think your cove is pretty to look at. If you don't like it then maybe you could do a few light colored travels and then a 1 dark colored travel. I'm not really an expert at travels. I've only put travels on my creature if I think it will look nice on them.

@bgunny ahaha thanks, I guess I'm going to try throwing some random colors in there but man I don't think using travels is supposed to be so complicated or stressful hahah, but thank you.

@pjbuzzy i totally get what you mean i'm a little obsessive over travels in a different way, i try and get travels that match the colours of the egg or the pet really exactly...doesn't always work so i still have pets without travels and that bothers me even more XD i think you have a pretty cove, do you maybe have an example of a cove you think is super amazing? maybe if i look at it i'll be able to see something idk 😋

I like your cove but if you want your creatures to pop out do this:

If you have a creature that is entirely black but has little pieces of white buy a travel that has more white then black.

EX: look at my patrosite, and silver not that might help i'm not good at describing.

Well, to be honest with you, I LOVE caves that look like a giant mess! That's why I organize my creatures kind of "randomly". And imo your cove looks stunning! Though if you still think it does not look good enough, maybe try adding travels to every single critter? I don't know if that might help, but it surely makes a huge difference!

I feel your pain. Mine is never good enough either...

Use eggcavity.com! They have a travel viewer. Take a screenshot, crop the images and replicate your cove in an image editor like paint so you don't have to waste travels until you find a scheme that you like.

Have you tried putting travels that have analog or complimentary colors on your creatures yet?

Put travels on everything and extra creatures in a side account or rename them so they don't interfere with your scheme.

I think coves ( like _black333_ (evo tab) and sky ) look really uniformed when it's done like that. Gonna do my dream cove like that one of these days >.>

Thank you guys, you all were actually quite helpful. I think I've decided to just give them all whatever travels I feel like and try to not care if it looks like a bit of a mess. I think it actually looks a lot better right now than it has previously, so I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks again.

@element, thank you very much for that color commandment thing, I've never seen anything like that before and it's very neat & helpful. Also, good luck with your travel adventures. I think that @hybrid actually looks gorgeous the way you have it, it might be one of my favorite coves. 😊

Sure thing, it probably won't be done for awhile because there are still quite a few creatures in here that I am trying to get rid of. I'm sure I won't be completely happy with it until they've been traded for things I like more, but I'll be sure to let you know.
